The Wildemount Irregulars (2020)

"Why don't we just have you all hiding and I'll make the ruckus? That way they have spells to throw at the goblins?" Balassar just asks giving a grin at the thought of the combat to come.

Silent will support Balassar's plan if the spellcasters agree, and unhooks the giant-touched handaxe from his belt for use at range. 

Alton nods, "I can't think of a better plan."

Balassar just nods "So you all hide close to the entrance. I'll make some noise and draw them out, when we think they are all out you all come in from behind. Sound bout right?" his grin just gets wider as he rolls his shoulder stretching his back in anticipation of the combat to come.

What are you doing next?

Silent will attempt to hide himself 20 feet from the mouth of the cave, waiting for Balassar to lure out the goblins. He's readying an attack with the handaxe against the first hostile goblin that appears (if a goblin appears to be running away from the fight or not outwardly hostile, he won't attack it).

Alton will sneak up on the other side of the mouth of the cave across from Silent being around 30 feet from the mouth of the cave. He readies his cross bow for when the fighting starts and gives a nod to Balassar.

Stealth: 15 

I've added you to the map, but please adjust if you like.  Alton, Silent and Wash all take up positions and look to Balassar to get the show rolling.

Balassar just waits patiently for everyone to get into position before walking forward with his drawn shield and scimitar "COME ON OUT AND FIGHT ME YOU LITTLE PIECES OF FILTH!" with that he'll begin to bang his scimitar across his shield to create a loud noise.

OOC:

Move about 15ft up and yell at the cave entrance.

There's a pause.  Then a shape moves in the mouth of the cave, and then another.

Two bugbears step into your line of sight, though they both remain within the cave mouth.  They look ferocious, and carry heavy-looking morningstars drawn and ready for battle.  One shouts, in common, You think you can take us?  We took this cave from the giants who lived there.  We killed them and ate giant flesh for dinner.  And we'll do the same to you!!  The other just growls menacingly.

Balassar just smiles as he continues to pound his sword on his shield "Then come and prove your statements!" he shouts "Or cower in that cave like the weaklings you are!"

Make an Intimidation check for Balassar, please.

Hah!  The bugbear laughs dismissively.  Turn back now, dragonborn.  He looks around.

Can I get a Stealth check for Silent, please?

(OOC: From where Alton is, can he see what weapons and armor the bugbears have? And are morningstars considered metal weapons?}

These morningstars have metal parts but are mainly wood - I'd say they are like the picture above.  The bugbears are wearing hide armour and have shields in their other hands; they look ready for battle.

Bugbear Perception 15

He steps forward one pace, menacingly, seemingly confident at facing down the lone dragonborn opponent.

(OOC: Would Silent's readied attack with his handaxe be triggered? These guys seem fairly hostile.)

If Silent would judge this to be hostile enough, then yes.  In that case, we will roll initiative. 

(OOC: Ah okay, he'll hold off for now and wait for the bugbears to draw closer to Balassar or for him to call for aid)
