(OOC: lol another six on the encounter table. I'll take them off for next time, but for this time...)
The small caravan makes its way through the countryside, though where at first all land was given over to cultivation, you're now seeing a mix of farms and wildlands, a few more forests, and fewer people greeting you as you pass.
Around midday, a dot appears in the sky, far off. Silent notices it first, as it seems to be headed towards some point behind you. At first you think they might be birds, but as they get closer, and Alton can now see them too, there are more Perytons. Perhaps seven this time. And now they're turning, to head right towards you.
With Silent's natural 20 on perception, you have perhaps a minute to warn the others and arrange yourselves in case these Perytons attack. What would you like to do?
Silent starts swearing loudly and yells Perytons off the port bow, more than double the numbers we fought before! What the hell are we doing, we gonna hide or try to fight again?
No way to hide, not if they're coming for us, Captain Fray replies, scanning the surrounding countryside which offers no real hiding place. She calls out the civilians: Wagons together, get some covering over the oxen, maybe the monsters will come for us first, eh? Weapons out, eyes up, she calls, this time to her guards and to you.
Balassar just stands up grabbing his sword and scimitar "Then let's get positioned. Whoever know hows to use a bow better than a sword stay back and shoot at them. Those of us with melee experience will charge them. Magic users, you know what you do best so take direction from Alton. Sound good? If not speak up now."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alton reigns his horse in by the wagons and hops down getting himself ready. "Well, here we go again. Anyone have a fireball to throw in their direction?"
Initiative: 9

(OOC: Would we have been able to take a short rest during the caravan ride? Silent is still looking a little rough after eating that crit from the last fight...)
No fireballs, lad, Fray replies. She gets her guards into position, with crossbows ready to fire. The civilians have covered the oxen and wagons as best they can with tarpaulins, and are now hiding beneath the wagons.
The perytons once again split; three creatures fly towards the guards, and though they get a good volley of crossbow bolts in first, you know that they will struggle to deal with so many.
A further five perytons dive towards you, or perhaps towards your horses which are standing, looking very skittish, nearby.
Round One Balassar Peryton 4 Alton Perytons 1 and 2 Silent Perytons 3 and 5
Balassar is up.
Any of you can ready a ranged attack to take place when the creatures come into range. That would have happened before Round One, so feel free to make that attack now if you wish.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Balassar just walks forward letting the images of the giants teaching flow through him as he begins to grow taller walking 30ft towards one of the birds and swinging at it.
"Woah, Balassar is huge! He's like as big as a giant." Alton takes a moment to watch the larger Balassar wade into combat before moving in closer to the creatures on Balassar's left. "Silent, I'll cover the left side if you cover the right side." He pulls up his crossbow and takes a shot at the closest creature to him.
Movement: Moves 15 feet towards birds 4&5 Action: Fires a crossbow bolt at bird 4, Attack: 16Damage: 6 Piercing

Silent nods to Alton before grunting as the peryton tears into him - instinctively he summons his Echo adjacent to the peryton and will Unleash Incarnation to make two strikes at the creature.
Balassar will swing at the creature as it cuts into his flesh, watching as it flies away. His focus moving to the other birds that come into attack him. He just swings at it returning the gesture of hostility.

(OOC: I'm pretty sure we got a long rest after that last fight, but I'm assuming that based off of how the chronological order of the posts sound.)

(Yes, you've all had a long rest.)

Balassar is up.

OOC:
Bonus Action: Giant's Might
Movement: 25 ft forward to bird 3
Action: Attack on Bird 3: 21 Damage: 8, Giant's Might Additional Damage: 5
The mighty Balassaur thunders across the ground and swings his scimitar, cutting into the bird and extracting blood and shrieks.

Peryton 4 dives to attack Balassar:
Gore Attack: 16 Damage: 10
Talon Attack: 8 Damage: 7
Balassar swats, actually swats the creature's attacks away.
Alton is up. (And I don't think anyone has seen this ability of Balassar's before, right?)
"Woah, Balassar is huge! He's like as big as a giant." Alton takes a moment to watch the larger Balassar wade into combat before moving in closer to the creatures on Balassar's left. Thunk, and Peryton 4 takes a hit from your crossbow bolt.

Bird 1 dives to attack Silent:
Gore Attack: 22 Damage: 8
Talon Attack: 19 Damage: 8
Rip, rip, deep into that orc flesh.
Bird 2 attacks the nearby monster dragonborn:
Gore Attack: 12 Damage: 9
Talon Attack: 13 Damage: 11
And instead of hovering nearby, it flies on and manages to escape any attacks (immune to Opportunity Attacks when flying).
Silent is up.
Silent nods to Alton before grunting as the peryton tears into him - instinctively he summons his Echo adjacent to the peryton and will Unleash Incarnation to make two strikes at the creature.
Silent's Attack 18 Damage: 18
Echo's Attack 22 Damage: 12
Silent, your attack hits, but the echo's misses this time.
Bird 5 flies towards the horses; they scatter, but it seems intent on chasing at least one of them.
Bird 3 attacks Balassar:
Attack: 8 Damage: 11
Attack: 19 Damage: 5
Beak and talons scratch against your shield, but without effect.
