He's scared by something he's read in the letter. He's not panicking, or running for the hills, but he's definitely afraid of something, and he wants you to be happy, to take the bubble things, and go as soon as possible.
Pockets furrows his brow. Thank you, sir. You’ve been of immeasurable help to my associate and I. We’ll take the spear at full price, and I assure that we’ll return these items to you in pristine condition.
Pockets leaves a gold piece on the counter and turns to Silent. We should go.
Keyo approaches the half-elf Herbalist. "Good morning mam, I have a letter for you." Keyo reaches out and hands the letter to the woman. "You have a lovely shop by the way." Keyo walks around the shop and intently gazes at the various plants and herbs. He is very clearly fascinated by her selection.
"I am also looking to acquire some ingredients for my own use. I am something of an amateur herbalist myself. Specifically, I am looking for some incense and charcoal. I need around ten gold pieces worth. Is that something you might be able to assist with?"
Keyo raises his coin purse and bounces it slightly in his palm. The accompanying jingle of coins is rather pathetic and suggests he has little in the way of coin.
"I have some ink that I could part with, to help make up the difference?"
(OOC: Keyo is trying to sell his ink to get the extra 5 gold needed for his components.)
(OOC: I looked through the posts, didn't see a name for this collector. Did I miss it? Not having any luck with removing 4cp from my equipment. I will keep trying but I will make a note).
Arael laughs, knowingly, and passes the barkeep a 5 sp as a tip.
Nobles are a weird bunch, that's for sure. I'm just trying to keep a roof over my head and I heard about this job. What's the story with those tieflings?
Pockets, the blacksmith takes your gold, and you collect the four bubble devices. Silent, he looks at you, indecisive for a moment, and then says in a low voice: You should never cross her, if you've any sense. She has powerful friends. Keep your head down and do what you're told, and you'll do well. Same as me, if the Gods will it. He turns his back and walks into the back room without saying goodbye.
You walk out of the smithy and into the street. Where are you headed next?
At the herbalist's:
Why thank you, she replies. Charcoal and incense, yes of course. We have a few different varieties of incense, over there; she points at a cabinet on the wall next to you. Now, what do we have here... she looks at the letter, notices the seal, and tenses. I see. She opens it, rather hesitantly, and reads the contents.
As she finishes, she exhales loudly and smiles. Well, now, that is a weight off. Done and done, as they say. She leans under her counter and pulls out two, and then another two small vials of red liquid; she places them on the countertop. Four healing potions, and that's an old debt paid off that I am glad to be rid of. She seems to be in a very good mood.
Looking at the incense, all the varieties are similarly priced and would work equally well for your magic. If you're offering to sell Ink (1 ounce bottle), she'll buy that for 5 gold assuming it's never been used.
At the tavern
That's for sure, the bartender nods. Always got to keep the money coming in. Same goes for our tiefling friends, she grins in their direction, no doubt plotting their next get-rich-quick scheme. Doomed, I would say, but then what do I know?
Silent looks at Pockets as they walk out of the shop, spear held at his side. Gotta say I'm getting antsier by the minute falling in with this Captain. I still think it's an opportunity worth pursuing... but I've never been much good at keeping my head down and following orders.
Anyway, we can cross that bridge when we get to it. Seems like we got some time to kill - you wanna meet up with the others or go grab a drink or something? Any hometown attractions that you know of?
I’m also concerned about the Captain. I feel like a dragon chess piece being setup for the taking. Maybe it’s not even that complex. Maybe the opportunity arose and she opted to use the people at hand. I can’t get a read on her.
Pockets looks off for a second, wondering.
Local spots? No, I’m from the Tumbledowns. It’s not a good place to visit for me right now. But we should definitely catch up with the others.
(OOC: I believe that you knew where Keyo was headed because the letter was addressed, but you wouldn't have known Arael's destination because she didn't know which tavern she would end up at. If you want to meet up with the others, the best options are to head back to the ship or to the herbalist's shop maybe).
Silent and Pockets can head to the herbalist easily, as it's right down by the waterfront nearby.
If you prefer to go to find the Skyport, Pockets would know that it's in the Gilded Esplanade, not too far from the Larboard Light (the docks where you currently are). You could probably get there and back in time, but you would only see it from the outside; they don't allow gawkers. Silent, it's likely you don't actually know what a Skyport is.
At the tavern:
Both tieflings look up, surprised. The woman grabs at her back and shifts the position so that it's out of reach. The man, initially surprised, grins and takes the ale: Well, if you're buying drinks, seems to me it's only good manners to invite you to sit. Ask away.
The female tiefling shrugs and nods as she takes her ale.
Keyo hands the vial of ink to the herbalist. "Yes mam, the ink vial has never been used. I was planning on focusing on some scholarly pursuits, but current circumstances have shuffled my priorities. I will take the charcoal and incense." Keyo passes over the 5 gold coins remaining in his coin purse.
"Thank you very much for your assistance this day. I shall deliver the potions to the good Captain."
Keyo sets out to leave the herbalist before turning back. "I am sure to be back, I am an amateur herbalist myself and would love to discuss some of the craft with you."
To Pockets, Silent says Skyport? Never heard of it.He chuckles and shakes his head. If I didn't know any better I'd think you were talking about flying ships or something. Haha! When pigs fly, eh?
You know what they say... when in Xhorhas do as the Xhorhasians do. I'll follow your lead if you wanna check anything out.

(OOC - Sorry for the delay but Silent will still shoot his shot).
Silent pulls back from Hektor and nods at Pockets before shooting the smithy a pointed look.

Silent would be interested in seeing more of the city while there's time so he'll propose attempting to meet up with Keyo at the herbalist's.
Pockets goes along with Silent.
(OOC: We could go look at Port Damali’s skyport. I’m not sure how long that would take.)
Fair enough, Arael says to the barkeep. I'd like to buy them a round and see if they'll be able to help me out.
Arael takes the ales and walks over to the tieflings.
Hello, I was hoping you would be able to assist me, I'm looking for some information, and I come bearing ale along with my questions.
