Darren, on stepping on one particular part of a wooden plank, you hear a click, and then a squirt of acid comes from a metal device nailed to the nearest wall; you instinctively bring your arm up and dodge out of the way, taking only one point of acid damage to your forearm.
Balassar just freezes as the trap goes off looking around for anything else in the room that could prove to be dangerous. His hand instinctively gripping his sword hilt tighter.
Balassar, you see the mechanism for the trap on the wall, and the floor, and the patterns in the dust where the passing brigands have carefully avoided that spot; from the faded patches of wood, you can guess that the door to the east is frequently used, and the door to the north a bit less so. You see no other dangers in this room. You think you hear, faintly, a bubbling noise and a crackling noise; perhaps a fire, and something else? It's very faint, as the door is still closed.
Balassar just looks and then signals the patterns in the dust to everyone. He begins to follow in the patterns to the door and signals that there is something behind there waiting for everyone to be ready before charging in.
Swin, you see pretty much what Balassar saw; you don't hear anything though.
Balassar, you stand by the door to the east, the one that the tracks indicate is more frequently used. The others ready themselves. Are you really charging in once you've opened the door?
Balassar, you open the door. The room behind it is empty of people at least; it looks like a kitchen, though just as messy, filthy and run down as the rest of this building that you have seen. There's a stove with a fire to your left, and a pot on the top bubbling and boiling quite fiercely; it's not hard to see that there was someone here, only a minute or two ago, but now they are gone.
Elsewhere in the room, there's a rack of tools and weapons along the north wall, a large table with nothing atop it, and three other doors, one in the west wall, and two in the east wall.
Balassar just looks around the empty room and the backs out slowly. He just looks at the group and shakes his head pointing to the other door in the hall as he cautiously moves to it.
Alton, you open the door with the mage hand, silently and without approaching. You are able to see inside quickly; a glimpse of movement, of green and black. Snakes!
“Son of a….” Darren says as he hears the sound… (nat 20 on the dex save. 21 total)

Swin looks and listens around for any sign of reaction from hidden bandits who might have been waiting around for such a trap to spring.
She then looks at the floor and elsewhere for any other traps that might have been waiting…
Swin, you don't hear or see anything immediately, but give me a Perception check.
Balassar just freezes as the trap goes off looking around for anything else in the room that could prove to be dangerous. His hand instinctively gripping his sword hilt tighter.
Alton looks to Darren, "You good? Didn't think there would be traps this soon, if any."
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
You can make Perception checks to look for other traps, or for anything else, if you wish. Or you can proceed to open one or both of the doors...
OOC:
perception check rolled in game log 25 (nat 20 + 5) for any other potential dangers in the room or on the doors.

She will also keep to the safe paths and ready a fire bolt at anyone hostile

Alton follow the same safe path, going a few feet into the room; ready to open the door with mage hand.

As the door opens Balassar keeps his shield up as he cautiously enters keeping his back to the wall.

Who will open the door (the one in the north wall of the second room, where Darren is on the map)? And will you charge in or go cautiously?
Alton will use mage hand to open the door.

You have a moment to react. What will you do?
Balassar grips his weapon right preparing for battle.

can he see anything in the room with his darkvision
