“I would rather not go in the room full of snakes. But also, why is there a room full of snakes?” Darren says curious as to what these brigands are up to. “If we need to open the door again to dispatch the snakes. I have a spell I can use to hopefully damage a good number of them. … assuming of course that they are all clustered together near the door.” (Considering using melfs acid arrow as an area of effect spell to do some damage. But also wondering do we really need to clear this room full of snakes?)
(Also it seems obvious to me, though I don’t think it would be obvious to Darren, that there are seemingly two entrances to the ‘snake room’. We could try and divide and conquer perhaps.)
Darren pulls a torch out of his pack casting light on it as he does so. The object immediately emanates light that mimics the colors of real torchlight. “You mean like this?” As he holds it out to Balassar
Balassar nods "Exactly, should at least help us see in there." he says looking at them and then to Alton "Before we do this anyone else have any plans?"
"I'll open the door on three and y'all can do what you think is best. Ready?" Alton pauses for a moment, "One... Two... Three!" As he says three, he'll use his mage hand to open the door.

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
( I had mentioned using a spell if the door was opened and there was a cluster of snakes together. Would I be able to use that spell before initiative?)
(You would need to have done the ready action to cast a spell in that way, I think. Otherwise you can go, but it will be on initiative.)
Round One: Snakes 1 and 2 Alton and Swin Darren, Balassar and Kef Snakes 3 and 4
Snake 1 and 2 were ready at the door, and slither out to bite at Balassar, the most absurdly well-armoured level 5 character who ever lived. One of them rolled a 14 for 20 total, and still missed. I guess it chowed down on the metal armour maybe? It didn't go well for it.
In any case, there are two snakes out the room, two snakes in the room, and all of them are hostile. From what you can see, the room beyond appears to have no-one else in it. At the approach of the snakes, Kef gives a visible shudder, but has grabbed a crossbow from one of the dead brigands and looks determined.
Alton and Swin are up.

Alton uses the mage hand to close the door, trying not to disturb the snakes any more. "Who wants to go inside the room with the snakes first?"

Alton, you close the door in time. The snakes noticed you and were beginning to move towards you, but with the door closed they are trapped within.

"Rhane?" Swin calls through the snake door. "Are you in there?"
Swin, there is no response.
Balassar just looks around at his companions "Can anyone light something up without fire and toss it in there?" he asks
Darren pulls a torch out of his pack casting light on it as he does so. The object immediately emanates light that mimics the colors of real torchlight. “You mean like this?” As he holds it out to Balassar
"Just let me know when you're ready, and I'll open the door again." Alton says, as he holds the mage hand at the ready.

I guess no-one has a plan? Are you opening the door to the room o' snakes?
(If no one else has a better idea. Darren is ready to deal with the snake room)
Alton, you're up!
