You're now five days out of Feolinn - please mark for Silent's consumption of rations.  There's plenty of water around to refill your waterskin.

On the road, in the afternoon of the fifth day, you are walking, conversing occasionally, just spending the time as usual.  The road has left the coast behind and now passes through tropical grasslands, with only occasional clumps of trees.  There is still enough rise and fall to the land that you don't always have a clear view of the road ahead or behind, and it is as you are coming near the top of a small rise, with little visibility ahead that you hear a scream from in front of you.  

Silent immediately draws his sword, gets low to the ground and starts inching over the top of the hill trying to zero in on the source of the scream. 

In case this calls for a Perception check, 22 

Silent, you move forward and reach the top.  About eighty feet ahead of you, three large creatures circle around a wagon; two guards are holding them off with swords, and two others - merchants perhaps - stand atop the cart with crossbow.  With that perception roll, you can see that these are giant hyenas.

Silent yells Oi Magnum, you wanna use those thunder punches on some angry dogs? and starts running down the hill towards the action.

If possible, he'll draw a javelin (dragging the greatsword along with one free hand instead of two) and throw it at a hyena if and when he draws within 30 ft. of one.

The first hyena is trying to rip the arm off one of the guards:

Attack: 25 Damage: 14

He screams, and even from here you can see the monster has almost pull his arm off; it's hanging at an awkward angle.

The two merchants are holding hand crossbows but clearly have little skill in using them.  They fire at Hyena 1:

The man's shot fires up into the sky, but the woman gets in a good shot, though the hyena seems undeterred.

Despite the pain, the first guard knows he is in the fight of his life, and stabs his shortsword towards the hyena's mouth:

The second guard faces two hyenas and looks very scared; he strikes the one on his left:

Attack: 22 Damage: 8

He gets a good hit in too, but these are tough creatures.

Hyena 3 attacks in retaliation:

Attack: 7 Damage: 5

But isn't able to connect.

Magnum is up.   I would say you have covered a lot of ground before combat started, so you are not too far from the battle.

Magnum raises his free hand and unleashes a flash of lightning at Hyena 1.

Attack: 6 Damage: 4

That's a bad miss, but it does get the hyenas' attention.  Is Magnum moving closer?

Hyena 2 attacks Guard 2:

Attack: 13 Damage: 8

That hits.  The guard's leather armour is not really up to the job, and the hyena's teeth sink through it easily and into the tasty flesh beneath.

Silent is up.

Magnum moves close enough that all of the Hyenas are within his 90 foot range.

Seeing the heavy damage, Silent swears and uses 30 ft. of his movement to run in a straight line towards the action. 

As a bonus action, he will Manifest an Echo adjacent to whichever hyena took a solid hit by the second guard (I think it's Hyena 3?).  

The Echo will draw its greatsword and swing for the hyena's flank.

(OOC: My bad - accidentally rolled with advantage. Probably misses either way)

The Echo misses, but the hyena is distracted for a moment, alarmed at seeing many new enemies approaching.

Hyena 1 continues to rip at the guard's arm:

But the guard manages to pull his arm free.

Help, please!  calls the man, you now see a gnome, as he and his partner fire again at Hyena 1:

Clumsy and poorly-co-ordinated, nevertheless the giant hyena is a considerable target, and both bolts hit home.

Guard 1 tries to stab back at the hyena before him:

Attack: 11 Damage: 6.

Guard 2 attacks Hyena 3, seeing an ally distracting it:

Attack: 22 Damage: 3

Sneak attack:  5

Guard 1 misses, but Guard 2 gets in a decent cut.

Hyena 3 keeps attacking Guard 2:

Attack: 19 Damage: 9

It's a bad bite, a lot of blood.  The poor guard, a young-looking half-elf, isn't doing too well.

Magnum is up.

Magnum moves so that he can get  line of sight on Hyena 3.  Magic Missile at Hyena 3, all three darts.
