"Would you like to see the Burgermaster first then?"  Valena asks the group.  "I think this Ireena might be his daughter, but I don't keep in contact with the townsfolk very much."

Gesturing forward with his free hand "I guess that's probably a good place to start."

You continue onward down the road, past the gates of Barovia. Towering trees, whose tops are lost in heavy gray mist, block out all but a death-gray light. The tree trunks are unnaturally close to one another, and the woods have the silence of a forgotten grave, yet exude the feeling of an unvoiced scream.

The stench is coming from the woods to the left. There seems to be a narrow, overgrown path between two trees.

Guenhyvar will move over that direction, "I will check it out, can one of you move quietly to come with me?"

The mist here seems to invade your senses, but you're able to move silently down the path.

"It is not wise to check out every strange thing in these lands."  Lavena says with a frown.  "Let us continue on to see the man who sent you the letter and leave dark trails alone."

Nodding at L Dark path smelling like death, and not on the way to where we are going - we can skip it. But whoever is rearguard, be watchful 

Guenhyvar will return to the group and hand over the letter, "Body mauled by wolves, dead several days. This was the only thing he had on him."

Opening the sealed letter, you find this:

With maul rested on shoulder "This place is so tainted... How is everything so corrupted."

That is not the same writing as the letter what brought us here - if I were to guess, this new one is the original burgermaster - the fake would be more optimistic. Effing g's eyeball. Ronny spits We've been suckered. 

 Elias looks at Rontevich and says: " I agree and I don't like to be toyed with! The question is do we turn around and leave these strange lands - that seemingly have Vampires or do we continue on and show them what happens when they trifle with the wrong people?"

"You truly know so little."  Lavena says with a glance between each of the members of the group.  She shakes her head and glances around.  "This is not the place to speak of such things though." With a nod to the new letter.  "Do you wish to continue to travel and speak to this man, or do you wish to return to town and get a room at the tavern there." She looks everyone in the eyes, one after the other.  "For better or worse, you are here now, and will find leaving this land much more difficult than you found getting into it to be."

"Whatever the source of our summons, we're here now, and I for one will not leave just yet." Guenhyvar glances at Lavena, "Perhaps a tavern to get a feel for the place before heading straight there might be a good idea."

"Very well."  Lavena says with a nod. She whirls around and starts to lead the group back into town and to a tavern in Borovia.

 Looking to Ront "Should I change into an elf? I don't know if these people have seen my kind before."

You continue down the lonely, narrow road. The mud turns to gravel. The gravel road leads to a village, its tall houses dark as tombstones. Nestled among these solemn dwellings are a handful of closed-up shops. Even the tavern is shut tight.

A soft whimpering draws your eye toward a pair of children standing in the middle of an otherwise lifeless street.
