That one Rontevich points at the stairs at the other end of the hall But we were after the cellar and I don't think we have seen that yet

"The stairs only go up, but the children said there was a cellar?" Nebin shakes his head, bewildered. "What a strange and awful place. We go up, then? Everything else is turned upside down here, you see."

"Seems like up it is."  Lavena says with a nod.  She tucks her hair behind an ear and heads towards the stairs.  Her colorful tunic rustles as she moves.  Moving a hand to her mask she itches under it briefly as she reaches the stairs.

 Elias will follow Lavena up the stairs.

Unlit oil lamps are mounted on the walls of this elegant hall. Hanging above the mantelpiece is a wood-framed portrait of a family: a father and mother with their two smiling children, Rose and Thorn. Cradled in the father’s arms is a swaddled baby, which the mother regards with a hint of scorn.

Standing suits of armor flank wooden doors in the east and west walls, another door stands at the top of the steps. Each suit of armor clutches a spear and has a visored helm shaped like a wolf’s head. The doors are carved with dancing youths. The red marble staircase that started on the first floor continues its upward spiral. A cold draft can be felt coming down the steps.

Rontevich sighs at the continual hall-and-door theme. Seems wealthy enough, like the fake letter said, but nothing of use for getting anywhere

Nebin looks around for any sign of anyone having been in the house recently. Footprints in dust or carpets, that sort of thing.

Lavena moves to the door without any armored figures near it, opening it to look inside.

There's not a speck of dust anywhere, everything so far has been spotless. Rontevich does notice:

Ronny points out the design in the door panels are fighting bats not dancing Seem to have a werewolf - vampire theme everywhere ticking the wolf-faced armor And a glow of enchantment - finally - coming from upstairs. I'll keep a watch, but probably best to clear this floor first

Hearing the half orc say they were going to clear the floor, Nebin finds a dark corner to hide in, in case anything jumps out at them when they open the door.

When he finishes his examination of the armor, Guenhyvar will move back to the wall opposite the stairs they came up, “I’ll keep an eye out here and be ready if you need me,” drawing his bow and readying himself.

Saxis will be on the ready for anything that pops out at them.

An undecorated bedroom contains a pair of beds with straw-stuffed mattresses. At the foot of each bed is a footlocker, and there is a door to your left and a 2 ft tall door to your right.

"Wonder if that is the same dumbwaiter from the kitchen."  Lavena comments as she sees the small door. She will move into the room and check the area first, opening and looking into the footlockers.
