On hearing your story, Eriyel gravely nods. “Our thanks, strangers,” she says. “You have proved your good intentions, and rid the forest of an old and restless evil. As for the drakes, we will send someone to free them. They are only beasts and had no choice in their masters. You have helped us more than you know, and now we pledge to you all the help in our power. I will send runners to all the nearby bands. By sundown tomorrow, we’ll have fifty elven bows to help the Harkenwolders win their freedom. We will join you at Albridge in two days time."
Eriyel offers to let you rest at the camp once again if you require it.

OCC Ah! I am more forgetful than Tafod would have been; he would have sought to recover the handaxe he threw before he attempted to jump the pit, did he find it? And, are the few (2? or 3?) fangs the fangs of a Black Dragon?
"I coould do wi' a short rest," Tafod says.

*Bram readily agrees, still feeling sore from the multiple spider bites across his body. (also, he would have tried to recover some bolts too if possible, good catch*)
Back in the necromancer's lair, Tafod recovered his axe and Bram found all of his bolts. Tafod has three black dragon fangs.
The group decides to spend the night so they can fully recover from their wounds. You leave early in the morning, retracing your steps back towards Albridge. When you pass through Marl, the yeastlike scavengers you met before are no longer there. You're a few hours from Albridge when the galloping hoof beats of a lone rider echo from the road ahead of you. A moment later, a young halfling woman on a small riding horse comes into view and reins in nearby. “There you are!” she says. “Dar Gremath said you might be around here somewhere. I’ve got an important message for you: The Iron Circle’s army is getting ready to march against Albridge! Nazin Redthorn’s called in all his raiding parties, and he’s going to try to stomp us out once and for all. Dar Gremath’s sent word for all the loyal Harkenwolders to come to Albridge and stand up to the Iron Circle. There’s going to be a big battle! He asks you to hurry back to Albridge to help out, as quick as you can!”

When the halfling finishes sharing her news, Tanisar reponds to her, "We will return as quick as we can. If you have no other tasks, ride ahead and let Dar know that the elves will join us tomorrow. They promised fifty archers to join in the cause."
The hafling seems impressed. "You recruited the elves? That is great news! I will tell Dar Gremath right away!" She turns her horse around and rides at a gallop back towards Albridge.

The group quickens the pace, eager to reach Albridge. When you arrive, Dar Gremath is meeting with the other Harkenwold leaders in the empty barn of an abandoned farm. You recognize Branna and Reithann, but there are also several other unfamiliar faces. Dar waves you over at once. “I’m glad you’re here,” he says. “We’ve got every free man or woman who can fight worth a lick from all the villages here, but the Iron Circle troops match our numbers. They’ve got better arms and armour, and most of them are trained soldiers. Only the elves are as well trained as them, so I must sincerely thank you for convincing them to join us. Still, we'll give them a hell of a fight. After all, we’re fighting for our homes and livelihoods. “ The leaders gathered around nod grimly.

"It took us a while, as we needed to help the elves before they would risk their lives for us. Eriyel, the leader of the band we met with, assured us they would be here by tomorrow. When do you expect them to attack?" Tanisar asks.
Dar nods. "If the elves arrive tomorrow they will be just in time. Based on what we know, the Iron Circle will arrive the day after. We must use all the time we have left to prepare for the battle."

Tafod will collect as many stalwart folk as he can find and demonstrate to them, with them, how to form a shield wall, keep it supported with a second and third rank, using spears to stab at the enemy and buttressing the first rank (which will also be using short swords if possible, or any sharp, pointy thing otherwise, to poke holes in anyone who gets too close) to help keep it from buckling, all the while archers a little further back keep plugging any bodily targets presented by any foes.
Atheletics (everybody juggling weapons and helping hold others upright) 25 Besides, it is Tafod's best shot at helping.

Bram, feeling largely useless as people mobilize to help the forces all around him, scratches his head and thinks about how he can help out. After a while, he approaches Dar and waits for a moment while the busy man is not being plied by one of his subordinates for something.
"Uh, Dar," he begins nervously. "I've been thinking... see, I'm on good at strategizing, or telling people how to hold their weapons right, or trying to get the lay of the land or any of that stuff. I just know one thing... my crossbow, and how to use it." He rubs the back of his head. "I've been using it a lot during the time we were fighting the bandits and their allies, too. Now, maybe I'm underthinking this... and it wouldn't be the first time... but in all that planning and strategamatizing that you brainy folks are doing, I was wondering if you realized that the bandits might not be..." He fumbles for a word. "... well, not the brightest. At least a lot of the people we've been intereacting with, they're kind of like me. Feet on the ground, following orders, not looking up types. If wars are fought by officers, the battles themselves are fought by the sergeants. Officers have the brains, see, but sergeants are the ones who get the stuff done on the ground. My type, we might not see the big picture, but we see what you need to do to win in the immediate situation. So... ya know, if you need the help of a sergeant when you're planning your grand battles, for what it's worth I'd like to try and tell you what I guess their ground forces would be thinking."
Because of her criminal backgroud, Quyst doesn't have a lot of trouble to go around and find some lowlives that are quick on their feet - and with their bows and daggers. She talks with them about how the Iron Circle will ruin life as they know it, and how she understands they're not evil, they just try to survive however they can. Further, their talents can be quite useful, going behind enemy lines and getting specific targets, messing up with plans and getting information about their strategies... She hopes that this talk will both elevate their morale, and make them join our ranks.
As Quyst heads out to the...less scrutinous, Tanisar turns his attention to those who have publicly stated their rebellion against the Iron Circle, and have gathered groups around them. As gathered from Dar, he seeks out those who have had disagreements in the past, but are united under this common cause. Focusing on this present unity, he explains to them that working together will help everyone with future prosperity and personal freedoms to live at our own discretion. Let's focus our disagreements upon the enemy, and use it as a competition to defeat THEM instead of tearing us apart.
Proceeding to another group, Tanisar sees their minimal efforts in preparation and springs into action. Striking a confident attitude, he rallies them to get off their arses, put some effort into the work that they are doing since it will not only help keep them alive, but their loved ones as well! Those who are lacking confidence, fearing the battle to come, he takes a more tender approach. Telling tales of his humble beginnings, he shares some stories of his own personal overcomings and works to project that confidence into them as well. "Strengthen yourself for tomorrow, you will succeed!"

As evening begins to settle, Tanisar begins to play from his flute some lively jigs and dances. Inviting others to join in the frolicking, he switches to his lute and invites others who know how to play any instrument to join him in some common festive songs, creating an impromptu cacophonous orchestra for the fun of all. He plays to distract the men and women of the coming battle, knowing that in the darkness is when the doubt and insecurities will plague the mind. Hoping to remind them of their loved ones, and why they are picking up arms, he plays his heart out.
Bram walks around the supply tents, checking to see that the equipment is properly oiled, prepared, and properly stored for battle. "If you take proper care of your weapons, they'll take proper care of you," he philosophizes.

He then spends the rest of the evening taking out his carving knife showing others how to whittle down more bolts and arrows for ammunition.

After her first approach, Quyst looks out for the thieves she didn't convince. She tries a differente approach now, talking about how shameful it would be to coy away from this battle, and how other people - other lowlives that know about them - could be less than pleased to know they put theirselves in danger while some were safe and sound somewhere else... And how they could even feel like revenge is appropriated... "Can't get them with reason, maybe I can get them by fear", she thinks.
