Vani nods and helps carry Thorin away to where they plan on resting.

So, you move along, and are able to travel 4 more hours, then Thorin wakes up. 

About 2 hours down the trail, you see in front of you on the trail 2 slim/short figures (you can't tell what race yet) standing next to a broken down cart, surrounded by 4 fallen humanoid bodies that appear to be smoking. 

Vani looks back to the party, "I can try to get a better look, and maybe see what they're intentions are," she offers.

(I'll take his crossbow.  I might be able to make some use of it during these low levels)

"Aurora, please take a look ahead at those individuals and tell me what you see around them."  Perception 10

Aurora flies ahead of Vani, looking at the 2 individuals as Vani walks towards them. Aurora quickly flits in front of them, memorizes their faces, and telepathically sends their faces into Vani and then Hasira's mind.

They are shorter than dwarves, but slender than dwarves. They have pointed ears, similar to an elves, but also close to a gnome's pointiness. Their noses are smooth, but with a large "knob" at the tip of it similar to gnomes or goblins. They have light gray-orangish skin. They're about 4 feet tall, are both female, and one of them is wearing a navy blue robe, and the other is wearing a light grey robe. They look surprised as Aurora quickly flits by, but make no aggressive movements, and turn around quickly after she leaves, looking at her. 

As they turn around, they see Vani approaching, and the group a bit behind her. They wave slightly as you approach.

Vani attempts to read their body language and faces, trying to gauge if they're actually being nice or if they're putting on an act.

You hear a high voice come from the one wearing blue robes, who you can now see is holding a staff, as she says, "Hello, who are you fellows?"

Thorin walks along with the group, unsteady on his feet and confused about where Brocc is. He places a hand on the hilt of his warhammer as he walks but doesn't draw it. 

"I believe they are fellow magic users.  I can go talk to them and let you know if the coast is clear.  I think they were attacked and are also on edge.  They're... pretty powerful if they wiped out their attackers with double their odds.  Do we want to risk seeking help from them?  We are not up for a fight."

"I mean, it's not like we can do anything else at the moment," Vani says.

"Thorin, how are you feeling?  Are you okay?"

"Ah, that's... fair.  Alright.  Let's go."  Hasira walks out towards the pair after using Prestidigitation to clean off his robes, and the blood off everyone else.  "Hello!  We are travelers passing through.  Who are you?"

"Hi," the same person replies, "I'm Tiaathque Ostoroth. Where're you travelling to?" 

"I am Hasira Rixis.  We are on the way south, to Druvenlode for now.  You?  Also...  Uh.. What happened here?  Are you okay?"

"Oh, we're fine." She assures you, "Our cart just broke when these thugs shot its wheel. We were heading to Druvenlode as well."

Thorin waves off any help. "I'm fine, fine. I wish people would just either kill me or leave me alone. This halfway to dead state I've been in for the last few days is getting very annoying." 

"Thugs? Are you alright?" Vani asks.

"Oh, yes we're fine." She responds, surprisingly happily, "Is there anything we can help you with? Oh, where are my manners? This is my sister, Ellywick Ariessus, she's mending the wheel right now."

"Ah, I'm glad for that at least.  It's a pleasure to meet you. If we are going the same way, maybe we can travel together. " Hasira looks around at his new allies, unwilling to volunteer their names if they aren't.
