You cannot find anything of value or worth besides the handaxe that this one form you were searching has lying besides their left hand.

You see a burnt whole in the front of their clothes, and a deep burn in the center of this figures chest. You see an inch of his chest has been burnt away, with a smoking crater in his rib cage. 

This figure is an orc.

There are 3 other dead figures with similar marks on their chests. One of them is a drow, another is a human, and the final is a hobgoblin.

Investigation 21

On the drow you find a heavy crossbow, which from the angle appears to be the one that pierced the cart's wheel, a rapier, and a small glowing dagger. You find a pouch filled with 9 gold pieces, 8 silver pieces, and 1 coin that match no specific type you've ever seen before. Additionally, this figure has a large token with a strange symbol on it. The symbol is a purple spider, but instead of an abdomen and head for a body, it has an elongated drow skull with a spider's mouth where its jaw should be.

"We were also waylaid by some bandits, several miles away though.  These do not appears to be the same bandits that attacked us.  In fact we only had to defeat their leader and the rest ran away.  Do you think they had another reason to attack you beyond simple banditry?"  

He will note to the new comers while the others search the bodies.  

ooc:  I'm assuming these are not the same bandits....

Tiaathque replies, "No, we don't know their motive. They just attacked us with no threat or explanation."

(All of the bandits that attacked you were humans, besides one half-elf. You have never seen a dark elf, goblinoid, or orc this close to Rexxentrum.)

I'll draw everyone's attention to everything he finds except the dagger, which he will keep. 

"Do you know what this symbol is?" Hasira holds up the foreign coin. (Do I need to roll anything for that? I, the player, think I know, buuuut...)

Vani moves to get a closer look at it.

(Quick correction, the coin is nondescript. There's no symbols or anything on it. It's just a shiny silver metal coin, twice the size of a silver piece in diameter. The symbol is on a gray steel emblem, and the details are painted purple.)

You could roll religion on the emblem to recognize the symbol.

Tiaathque looks at the symbol you're holding and queries, "What's that?"

Hasira flips the coin in his claws a few times, pondering.  "If I'm not mistaken, this is the symbol for the Children of Malice, a cult of Lolth.  She can be a... demanding goddess, and her followers can be equally troublesome."  Hasira will start looking over the remaining two bodies.

Vani watches the other party with trepidation, still not quite ready to trust them.

You search the hobgoblin, who has a shield, longsword, 3 gold pieces, and a symbol of the Children of Malice.

The Human has a mace, hand crossbow, and 2 silver pieces and 6 gold pieces. 

"So they just attacked you out of nowhere?" Vani finally speaks up.

"Yes, we were walking on the road, and they jumped out and started attacking us." She confirms
