"F***," Ilyandra swears under her breath as the rock comes into sharp contact with her toe. Her head whips up to catch the eyes of the lazy goblin. Before the goblin can react further, she trusts out her hand and casts Eldritch blast.
DMs note: You are all full health, spell slots, etc after your Long Rest. The Lazy Goblin is only about 30 feet away and the Serious One is over 100 ft away. The Serious one doesn't notice you... yet.
Ilyandra's Eldritch Blast looks to be on target until the Lazy Goblin turns around. The Blast hits him square on the back, where his little shield is strapped! The Shield takes the full brunt of the damage but the Goblin is unhurt! He gulps and yells out in fear.)
"GRONK! HELP! Heeeeeeeellllpppppp!"
(The Serious Goblin, who is quite far away, hears the yells and starts heading back to his post, but is still 90 ft away.)
(Spry's cockiness is not unfounded, as the Rogue uses his Shortbow to zip an arrow right between the Lazy Goblin's eyes, killing him instantly!)
"KRANG!"
(The Serious Goblin yells out in surprise as he watches his friend get butchered. Chotec, who is still at the edge of the forest, is actually closer to the remaining Goblin who is making his way back. He's about 60 ft away.)
Chotec runs as fast as he can towards the goblin and after 30 feet of running he throws his hand axe towards the remaining goblin from a bit too far away. Attack: 19 Damage: 8.
After his throw he scolds spry "We are in combat. Leave the haughtiness to when we have time for it."
(Chotec takes a running start and hurls his Hand Axe with deadly precision. It twirls impressively in the air before cleaving the Serious Goblin's chest, killing him instantly.
You all are at the tomb entrance with 2 dead goblins before you.)
(Chotec goes towards the tomb, made of white stone with an ornately decorated door that is slightly open. He looks down but it is completely dark. It doesn't seem like anybody is down there very close.
Spry, ever the Rogue, searches the bodies. The Serious Goblin had 1 sp, a quill and a small piece of blank paper. The Lazy Goblin had no coins, but you find what appears to be a Stink Bomb of sorts.)
DMs note: If you're going down I need you all to tell me your marching order. First come first serve.
"Then let us hurry down." I open the door completely but staying on the side of the door using it as a shield in case of traps. After that I go in first and if it looks dark i'll light up a torch.
(You all peer thru the partially opened stone doors and see some stone stairs going down into darkness, but the angles and lack of light keep you all from seeing more than 10-15 feet in.)
Party Order:
1) Chotec 2) Ilyandra 3) Spry 4) Shy
(You all enter and go down the stairs, Chotec leading the way with a lit torch. After a few moments you see a long, dark corridor with a slight light source at the end. Shy and Ilyandra can see pretty well, but the rest of you have more limited vision. Spry trips and makes a little noise, but not too much and no one seems to notice. Note: The dash lines are your line of sight.)
(You all see 3 Goblins in the distance, sitting around a big, brass brazier. They seem to be preoccupied with cooking their dinner, not paying much attention, but they are about 100 feet away. The room itself is lit by the fire in the brazier, but the corridor is somewhat dark, providing you all some cover, but not completely. The closer you get to the entrance, the more likely you'll be noticed. What do you all do?)
DM's note: The corridor is about 60 feet long, and the distance from the end of the corridor to the Goblins appears to be another 40 feet. If you all want to go past the opening of the corridor, you'll have to roll a very good Stealth Check.
Spry, who plays too much Dragon Chess, but does relish a tactical maneuver, whispers, "Let's sneak to the end of the corridor for a better look. If the rest of the room looks clear, we could surprise them with a volley of arrows and spells, they won't be able to reach us from 40 feet away if they charge, and if they shoot at us we might be prepared to dodge their arrows."
[OOC: If we do surprise the goblins like that, can we ready a dodge action for their arrows?]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ilyandra doesn't look back at Spry as he speaks, but nods at the plan, quietly creeping towards the end of the hallway and reading to cast eldritch blast when everyone is ready.
(If needed, I'll roll another stealth check, but if not needed I want to keep my old 24 lol)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Spry creeps towards the end of the corridor, and whispers to Chotec "Don't forget to put your lamp out before you come forward, we don't want to attract attention."
DMs note: Spry, unfortunately, since you're in a tight space, you can't really dodge. The corridor is not very wide, only about 2 of you can walk shoulder to shoulder thru it.
(The party makes their way to the end of the corridor. Chotec tries to subtly check out the rest of the room for any potential enemies... and does manage to catch a glimpse of a medium sized Gray Wolf in the Northwest corner of the room! Unfortunately, the beast also manages to sense you all, sniffing the air and letting out a loud growl! The Goblins take notice and look over, seeing you all as well! They scramble to their feet and let out some yells as they prepare for battle!)
Roll Initiative everyone!
DMs note: Just so you guys know what happened, Chotec's checking the room saved you all from a surprise attack by the Wolf! Nice job, Chotec. :)
