MB's Waterdeep: Dragon Heist

The two cower back from Auric's outburst, looking around and realizing they're outnumbered and outmatched. The human gets a nervous smile on his face and says now there ain't no need fer violence, we was just sealin up this door from that gray ooze in there. This Foon guy must be tha one tha boss had grabbed tha other night. He's...uh...questioning him in tha main room. Next door, down tha hallway, up tha stairs

Rayner: “Well violence does seem to work most times with you, Auric. And don’t mind te question, who is your boss? He’s willing to release Floon if we ask?”

"Hmph.  We should kill these two, then kill their 'boss', it matters not who he is.  We have all the information we need from them."  Urukar looks round the group for approval of his plan, and hefts his greataxe menacingly in the direction of the human and duergar.

"Kill em or don't kill em." Valen says with a shrug.  "Seems like we know where to go next."

"Nah, let's leave these two and off the boss. You've got these two, plus the gray ooze they're trying to trap. Why bother?" Mal'thrae casually walks across the room toward the next door.

"Oh, they're a couple of softies," Melody laughs, "leave em alone."

Urukar glowers at the two gang members, before turning and heading in the direction of their boss, grumbling about the possibility of his axe going rusty from a lack of use.

Auric:

Looking at the two gang members, Auric says, "It seems we are divided as a group on whether we should let you go or kill you right now so you don't decide to sneak up on us from behind and kill us.  I suggest, if you want to live, you leave this area quietly and quickly, then go find gainful employment somewhere far, far away in a less...criminal...enterprise."  Auric is obviously not willing to leave these two behind where they might perform a flanking maneuver to help their boss, so this offer is an attempt at a compromise.

The duergar starts to speak, but the human stops him. Of course, boss, whatever ya say. We'll just be on then. The human drags the duergar off the direction you came.

Rayner seems suprised with this. "Well then , let's rescue Floon and get out of here fast before they change thier mind and we get over run by this group. Mal, can you please lead the way? Lady Melody, stay near me, I got your back and you got mine, is that an arrangement that can be made?"

Mal’thrae chuckles. “Are we up to ‘Mal’ yet? Hm. Perhaps.”

 (It’s the apostrophe, isn’t it?)

He takes his shortbow back out and leads the group down the hall, waving to the human and Duergar as they leave.

Melody smiles, "I'll watch your back, no worries," as she pulls an old wooded flute from her boot. "Least they didn't take my flute when they took all my stuff."

Auric:

Auric watches the goons go, trying to discern if they really are leaving, or if they plan to come back and try their luck at a flanking attack:

Valen hefts his glaive and continues following the others.

Auric, it does seem a little suspicious that they left that easily, and the human had a shifty sort of look to him.

Are you attempting to be stealthy, or just walking normally?

Stealth couldn't hurt. 11

Auric will look at the door the goons left by and think a moment, saying, 'I don't trust those two, should we follow them stealthily to make sure they leave, Mal'thrae?"

“Sure.”

He turns around (same stealth roll?) and follows them out to make sure they don’t loop back around.

Valen is walking normally, but at the back of the group.
