"I'll come with," Melody says, going with them.

Auric:

"Yes, we have spent sufficient time attending to the manor and recovering from the last mission.  Let's go to the Yawning Portal and see what awaits us next!" says Auric.  He purses his lips and gives a strange, fluting whistle, and in a moment his riding lizard climbs out of the turret and walks down the outer wall of the Trollskull Manor, moving up adjacent to the Dragonborn.  Vaulting into the saddle in one graceful move, Auric nods and says, "Let's ride."

"Sure."  Valen agrees with the idea and follows the others to the Yawning Portal. 

Rayner to Auric: "I need to get one of those... I do miss riding...." and he looks to the blue sky, remembering what it was to fly on the city on a Griffon.

"Horses," Melody says, "generally don't like me. I think it's the horns."

Rayner: "Hmmm... OH! Sorry! I was thinking aloud! Do horses fear you? I can help them overcome that fear! See, I got a knack for training warhorses, was one of my first jobs."

"You need a bigger lizard, one that can carry us all", Urukar grumbles as he brings up the rear.  "Should we run behind,  like manservants, in the meantime?"

Auric:

Looking at Urukar in astonishment, Auric says, "Have I not waded through the sewers with you side by side?  Walk as you will--I have no intention of racing along.  What is it about my mount that discomfits you so?"

"I mean..." Melody says, "I don't hate horses. They just seem... scared of me I guess. I dont know."

Valen trudges along at the back of the group, seemeing unconcerned about the bantering.  He does keep an eye glancing back though, making sure no one is following them.

“There’s spells for that, Melody.” Mal’thrae remarks. “There’s a spell for everything. Talk to the horses or just summon a super loyal one out of thin air. If you want to do it naturally, only thing I suggest is picking one horse, taking care of it, and spending enough time until it grows to like you.”

"Ah yes," Melody nods, "solutions to a problem I can't use right now but thank you anyways."

"Like I said, your beast is too small.  It doesn't have wings, either."  Urukar sizes up the lizard with a smirk, before turning to Melody.  "Horses fear me too... but they are delicious, so it is worth chasing them down if you are hungry."

Rayner:" Wait, you ...eat...horses?"

Mal’thrae does a double take. “Which begs the question: what else?”

Auric:

Continuing to ride to the Yawning Portal as the group discusses Urukar's eating habits, Auric smiles at the half-orc's change of subject.  Apparently Auric's lack of presumption even while riding the lizard was sufficient for the barbarian.  At Mal'thrae's comment, Auric chuckles and retorts, "Come now, Mal'thrae, be more specific--do you want to know what else Urukar eats, or what other beings eat horses?  There might even be some crossover in that list." 

"Guys, I am feeling like eating the lizard at this point."  Valen grumbles.  "Let's get something to eat at the Yawning Portal while we are there.  All this talk of good-eating is making me hungry."b

"My tribe holds feasts after raiding caravans and settlements... we roast or cure the horses we capture, along with any other livestock we take.  If we don't eat them, we have to feed them, and in the dead of winter, there's little food to go around anyway..."  He has a longing look on his face for a second, as if he actually enjoyed and missed the hardship.  "Valen is right, let us eat!  With luck, the dwarf will have horse on his menu, and you can see for yourselves."

Rayner: "Well I'll stay with civilized food for now, Master Urukar. And ale! You like that at minimum!"

"Oh an ale sounds lovely right now," Melody says.
