Rayner sees the group leaving with haste of the building, confused by that, decided to follow them.

Valen sighs and gets up, moving towards the door after the group as well.  He grumbles about having to wait for an ale even longer. 

Mal'thrae, you notice that there is a crowd of people looking very confused to the right. They're looking in that direction, and you can faintly hear the cackling laughter. For some reason, it sounds deeper now...probably just from the distance?

"Well that seems a bit too obvious," Melody says, following the direction that people are looking

Mal'thrae calls to the others: "This way. C'mon."

He attempts to be inconspicuous as he makes his way toward the cackling. Stealth: 19

Auric:  

Riding along behind Mal’thrae, Auric peers over the heads of those in the crowd to see if he can tell what is happening up ahead from his higher vantage point.

Perception:  5

Mal seems to disappear into the crowd as you make your way forward, drawing closer to an increasing number of screams and people running in the other direction. This is all very distracting to Auric, as he tries to ascertain the reason it's happening. What he can hear is that the laughter has gotten very deep indeed, and there are a few very loud crashes from up ahead.

Auric:

Readying his lance, Auric increases his speed towards the disturbance, urging his mount to a fast trot—about as quickly as he can safely go through the crowd.

"Bloody goblins..."  Urukar carries his greataxe in his right hand as he walks towards the noise.  People run around him or stumble as they bump into him in their panic, possibly getting another scare when they see the large half-orc glaring down at them.

You finally work your way through the crowd and come out to a large open area, which is strange because this part of Waterdeep isn't known for many open areas. That's when you notice the market stalls that have been tossed around and reduced to kindling, explaining the crashes.

The deep laughter is explained by a now very, very large goblin that's stomping around the area, putting his fist through things, and repeating "WISH CAME TRUE! WISH CAME TRUE! GRIBBLE IS BIGGEST AND STRONGEST!"

Melody tries to approach the goblin, and smiles politely, "Hey there, why don't you come over here and stop trying to break everything?"

Mal'thrae ducks behind a stand, readies his shortbow, and prepares to snipe the goblin if negotiations go south.

"Hah! Now this is worth waiting to get food for."  Urukar sizes up the goblin, readying a javelin and slowly moving to the goblin's rear.  "We will need to find giant goblins if we are to compete with the Yawning Portal for excitement.  We should capture this one and put it in a fighting pit."

Rayner moves closer to the crowd, sees a “large” confusion, and asks the group: “Are we trying to stop it? Maybe we should reason with it first, before we do any damage to the city...”

Gribble looks around uncertainly, then over at Melody. "Not smash? But Gribble strong?"

"Very strong," Melody agrees, "but your strength could be used in more... important ways, don't you think?"

He sits down heavily, crushing a cart. "More important? What you mean?" His face scrunches up in confusion.

"Well..." Melody grins, "for starts, where does a strong man like you get even bigger and stronger?"

He thinks for a solid 15 seconds, before his face lights up and he pulls out the lamp. "Another wish!"
