Ron gestures toward the street. "I'll slip over to that side, then. Just walking. If they see me, they'll chase me, as one of the natives, unarmed. In that case I will flee north. If they don't, we'll know they can't see far. Which is what I expect. Assuming that, on your mark, I'll initiate the illusion of rattling armor and boots to earth, approaching quickly from the North road. Otherwise, I'll try to avoid the fighting."
Elena pulls a potion, keeping a tender hold on it, staff in her other hand. She looks to you in turn. "I'll throw fire after you shoot, Amandil, but I'll have to get closer. Then I'll fight by your side, Anahn. Those cruel people should be stopped."
The other two remain alert, nodding at the discussion without input.
Anahn will nod his head at the plan forming between the group, and will offer himself willingly as Eleana’s escort as she gets within range to throw the fire. He will also let Amandil and Ron know that he agrees to their plan of distraction so they can avoid a fight if possible.
Once the trigger for any type of combat is set off he will then have Living Link in his right hand, and his hand crossbow in his left. After which he will cover Eleana’s flank on her approach, and will shoot a bolt at whoever Eleana marks when the group begins their plan/assault. After shooting he will immediately holster the crossbow, pull a scimitar then stand in front of Eleana to draw attention.

Amandil nodded at Ron. "Good idea. Go ahead and I will create sounds from the opposite direction." He gets ready and once Ron is in position, he cast the cantrip to create the sound of cavalry - heavy hoofbeats and clanging armor and metal.
With a nod, Ron turns to the street and takes a deep breath, building up his faith in his own assessment. Then with a simple, somewhat hurried stride, he passes into the street, only turning his head just enough to see them. Getting halfway across, he slows, raises his hand toward them, and waves. Then stopping, he turns back to the group in cover, a smirk on his face. He backs to the other building and puts his back to the north facing wall, watching Amandil. Nodding at his readiness, he raises one hand before him.
When Amandil starts making gestures for the spell, Ron follows through nearly simultaneously. The bone-clad plunderers raise their heads to the north. "What is that noise?" - "Soldiers! Let's get out of here!" - "Belay that. That's mounted warriors. Get to cover!"
In the following moment, Amandil readies his crossbow, firing it at the one who stands guard. It plows into the warrior's bone armor, shattering through it. (Attack vs Bone Warrior A: 15, hit, 4 damage)
Eleana rushes around Amandil after he fires, moving 20' in the street toward the plunderers. Aiming at the few gathered around the pile in the street, she flicks the potion at them in a wide pitch. It shatters offset from them, a jump of flames splashing over their lower half. (Attack: 3, miss, splash: 3 damage to Bone Warrior D, E and F, all three targets catch fire)
Anahn follows Eleana into the street, leveling his hand crossbow at the same Amandil shot. Stopping to steady his aim, he fires. (Hit, 9 damage to Bone Warrior A)
Van steps around the building, twirling his hand to build up frosty energy. The tome thrums and snaps open in his other hand, a reddish glow emanating from the tome. Van glances at it, catching a glimpse of arcane secrets. The swirl of energy in his hand bursts into two orbs orbiting each other, a blue stream channeling between them. Thrusting his hand forward, the bolts split, absorbing into the standing guard and another 5' between him and the three now on fire. (Hit, 5 damage to Bone Warrior A; Hit, 5 damage to Bone Warrior B)
Danniell and Hallamir spread into the street, flanking Anahn and Eleana as to cover the width of the street. The four of them are 40' from the group, with Van and Amandil at 60'. It seems they still can't see you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(On his turn) Anahn will take aim and fire once again with his hand crossbow, more specifically at bone warrior A who already looks heavily wounded, seeing now that rushing within melee wouldn’t be advisable. He will then attempt, with his movement, to take up any space that would grant any ranged bone warriors a shot on Eleana.
ooc: Amandil will cast Faerie Fire on E to hopefully get them all. each of them must make a Dexterity save DC 13 or all attacks against them have advantage
This is why I'm not a wizard... The idea to scare them off was solid but using the illusion of cavalry nullified it. Of course he should have known there was no running from cavalry. Well, so much for that. He spoke the arcane words to a spell which should help to hit them with their attacks and pointed at the creature near the center of the group.
Amandil mutters the incantation for Faerie Fire, and glowing orbs descend on the bone warriors. None see it coming, and only Bone Warrior F looks up in time to avoid it. The rest glow.
Van focuses on his spell, the pages of the Arcane Diary thumping to another page at once. He glances at it twice while finishing the spell. Bone Warrior D looks up at the focus point, a tiny orb that sucks in air. He dives away from it just as it implodes on itself, then issuing a thunderous clap. The ground amidst the bone warriors kicks up dust with the explosion. (12 damage to all except D, who takes 6.) Bone Warrior A collapses, falling face first to the road.
Anahn struggles with a small bolt, reloading his hand crossbow, while keeping his eyes forward. Aiming at Bone Warrior B, he fires. The shot glances off the armor with a loud clash. (Advantage: Nat 1, result 12. Miss) He moves up 10'.
Eleana pulls another glass bottle advancing up right behind Anahn, hurling it at the same group already on fire. It directly strikes Bone Warrior E. The shatter erupts in a swirling flare, the heat felt on Anahn's face, engulfing the man in a rapid conflagration. (Attack vs Bone Warrior E at advantage, Nat 20, crit. 31 damage) The warrior collapses.
Hallamir and Danniell again advance at Anahn's flanks, keeping their maul, handaxe and shield at the ready.
Bone Warrior D and F flail about their lower half, trying to put the fire out, completely failing to stop the slow burn. F starts to scream in pain. (2 and 3 damage, respectively)
Bone Warrior B, grimly seeing two of his comrades fall, takes up his greataxe and charges toward you. As he comes closer, he sees the four of your group in the street, and adjusts toward Hallamir, the closest target. Hallamir spins his maul twice, lowering his body and slowly pulling it back as the warrior approaches. In a shout, Hallamir twists the maul with all his might, arcing it down upon the warrior's shoulder and neck. The warrior's bone plate shatters, a shard cutting into the warrior's neck issuing a spray of blood, the sheer force of the blow simultaneously knocking the warrior's head in a sharp cock aside. (Attack vs Bone Warrior B at advantage: 16, hit; 14 damage) The warrior flops to the ground beside Hallamir, who scoffs at the fallen man.

Anahn puts the hand crossbow away, and rushes warriors D and F. Despite having not actually fought yet with the weapon, Anahn feels like a natural reaching out to attack warrior D with the Living Link,

ooc: crossbow bolt at fleeing warrior C with advantage Attack: 15 Damage: 11
Amandil took aim at the fleeing warrior and let fly. If he gets away he might get reinforcements. For all they knew there might be 20 more of them a block away, ready to rush in.
Amandil moves up in pursuit of the fleeing warrior as he reloads. Lifting his crossbow to his shoulder as soon as he spots him, he lets loose a bolt flying past Hallamir. It thuds into the man's lower back, a splatter of gore issuing from the impact. The man staggers toward the ground, but pushes himself back to his feet. (Attack vs Bone Warrior C, hit, 11 damage)
Anahn rushes forward, slowing as he comes close. Releasing the length of the whip, it thumps to the ground, and he pulls it back while still approaching. The weapon rattles like chain, but skitters over the dirt as though hopping. When he lifts it off the ground in a overhand twirl, the coil lights up in a green aura. Throwing it forward, the end of it flies straight to the warrior's leg, thrashing into it with force. The man's leg bursts open in a long gash down his thigh, the flames splattering along with his blood. The man half-laughs and cries, facing Anahn with his sword-arm raised as he continues to try to fight the fire building at his midsection. Anahn sweeps up the coil in a simple pull, grabbing its end as he raises his scimitar, knocking aside the man's sword and slicing up at the man's arm just past the shoulder. The man's arm sprays blood before it goes limp, then pouring down his side, tendons barely still attached to his torso. His eyes roll back before he collapses. (Attack vs Bone Warrior D, hit/hit, 15 damage)
Eleana grips her staff in both hands, running up beside Anahn, looking away from the bleeding man to the last one standing in the vicinity, without Faerie Fire. She steps toward him, spinning her staff and twirling, sweeping the weapon in a wide arc. The warrior easily avoids it even as he burns, but exposes himself to another attack.
Hallamir runs up a few feet apart from Anahn, looking around for another target. He keeps his maul at the ready.
Danniel rushes straight up to the standing warrior, lunging toward him with a reckless attack, trying to make the most of Eleana's feint. He punches the hatchet into the man's panicked face, blade catching at the man's lower jaw. The man flails his arms and starts to fall back, but Danniell continues pushing forward, faster than the warrior falls. The sharp weapon turns into the man's mouth, and Danniell twists his arm and swings the weapon. It tears through the warrior's cheek and partway through the upper neck, cutting clean through the man's jugular. The warrior hits the ground in a spasm, still burning. (Attack vs Bone Warrior F, advantage: Nat 20. 10 damage)
Van's magic lashes across the street to pelt on the back of the warrior. He flops to the ground, dropping his weapon and moving no more.
Hallamir and Danniell remain alert for another moment, looking about repeatedly and listening. Eleana moves to check the blue-skinned bodies, confirming that they are dead. (Heal check: 14) "They've been dead for a while. At least an hour."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anahn will ensure that they are safe, scanning around, then will call out to Hallamir as Eleana goes to check the bodies,
“Halllamir! I can use a hand here! Come help me comb through all the items they’d been collecting for anything of interest. I suggest you all also join us, and Danniell can keep watch as we scan through! Better to move quickly because who knows if there are more just waiting out of sight!”
(I want to make an investigation of the items, looking to see if I catch anything of interest or peculiar. Hope to have Hallamir provide help action so I get advantage? If that’s not possible I can roll straight to.)
Anahn will quickly move to stuff all the valuables, trinkets, and books into his pack. As he does so he will call out to his companions,
"Someone check the soldiers themselves! We may find information on them on who they may be, or if they have any higher ups ordering the looting that we may have to worry about in the future!"
Amandil looked on in growing distaste. "We didn't come all the way to another world for these things Anahn. These trinkets probably don't have much value and at any rate belong to the next of kin of these people. Are we no better than the robbers we just defeated?!?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anahn looks to Amandil, taking in his comment, and turns his head back to his pack. He will shrug his shoulders and nods to his musical companion. “Guess I’ll leave all this for the dead then if you think that’s best.” He then pours everything from his bag onto the ground, ”We may walk away from this encounter with nothing but at least we’ll have our honor right Amandil?”
The young fighter will then move to search the bodies of the soldiers seeing no one else move to do it, “It'd probably help if instead of spending your time judging you were doing something useful! Or is this work too low for you as well?” He calls out over his shoulder as he crouches down to inspect the corpses.
Investigation: 17
Anahn is simply too frustrated to investigate clearly, and will give up his search after a short time. After which he will just stand up and keep watch, waiting for the rest of the group to be ready to move on.
Amandil looked directly into his friend eyes, not glaring but not letting go either. "Exactly. Someone had worked, someone had sacrificed to get these trinkets. Just because they are out on the street, doesn't make them up for grabs. Chances are, someone had just lost two loved ones, and we shouldn't add insult to their injury." He gestured at the other houses. "Shall we go door to door and take whatever we like, Anahn?"
He let the remark go without comment and went to help search the bodies of the bone clad warriors. "Ron, what is the custom among your people regarding the dead? Should we bury these two?"
