Dealing with the servant: I assume Kroneker and Badrizar are with me while going to the display room.
Selthar notices the heat and quickly grabs the servant saying "Hold. Do you not feel the heat?"I watch the servants reaction to my question and action as I Ready a Grapple : 13
If the servant seems nervous or fearful of the heat I immediately attempt the Grapple with something like an armbar with one arm and the other covering the servant's mouth to stifle any call for help if need be.
"The Magic Laboratory and the Wizard's Watch seem most likely to house items that would interest us. I would recommend the Laboratory first. It seems removed from population centers. There should be less of a chance to run into others."
Badrizarwaits for the servant's response, which will hopefully include an explanation about the color/nature of the flames. He suddenly feels the familiar urge to resort to his breath weapon...
(Regarding the map, Badrizar agrees. "North to the Laboratory; east from there to the Watch.")
"Help? This is your house, stupid. You don't even know your own safeguards?" Kroneker barks in frustration as he shoots the door with his crossbow in anger.
Sneak attack on the servant with one of my daggers. Attack: 10 Damage: 12
OOC: I assume my attack will just kill a normal servant. If not I guess its Initiative: 20
"The wards almost being triggered was not an accident. Fight our way out of the manor or attempt to act normal and make our way to the stable to steal the horses?"
Selthar takes a moment and pulls his rapier and short bow out of his backpack.
When the bolt cracks into the door, it busts through. A small flare of the fire pushes back through the hole, a black viscous substance covering the other side. It quickly moves off the door, and you see the flaming black slime swell up on the other side of the door. You spot a second inside. The door seems damaged and frail, and could easily be broken through at this point.
When the bolt cracks into the door, it busts through. A small flare of the same fire pushes back through the hole, a black viscous substance covering the other side. It quickly slides down off the door. Kroneker, looking at his handiwork at his eye level, can see that there are two black flaming oozes inside the room on the other side of the door. Though your side of the door looks fine save the new hole, scorching and corrosion is apparent in the hole. It seems it could easily be broken through at this point.
The servant merely blinks when Selthar deftly swipes his dagger across the the throat. He feebly clutches the wound, immediately rasping hoarsely as he falls to his knees. Kroneker:
The black ooze is immune to fire and acid, vulnerable to thunderous (sonic).
Badrizar: declare action (if any)
The oozes do not wait more than a few seconds. The door explodes, an opaque black ooze bursting through it. The quarter of the door on the hinges slam into the wall, splinters of wood scattering between the group. The ooze rises up to Kroneker's height, four feet wide, body flicking back and fourth as though containing boiling insides. You can hardly see past its black and green flame, which does not seem to catch anything around it on fire. Inside the room it burst from, you see the second black slime just five feet past the door, among a room of displayed items and paintings. On it you see a large steel shield partially sunk into it, decorated with black flames.
Initiative: Badrizar- 16, Selthar- 14, Black Ooze- 9, Kroneker- 7, Ooze with Shield- 3

Badrizarreacts instinctively, blasting the oozes with his icy dragon breath (4 cold damage; halved on a successful DC 11 CON save). He then backs away from the oozing, flaming messes, hoping to keep at least 30' distance.
The draconic breath causes the flames on the two creatures to dissipate for a moment and spreads a light coat of ice over their smooth, fluctuating exterior. (Black Ooze CON: 24, Ooze w/shield CON: 10, 5 and 11 damage respectively)
Selthar's blade grazes off the side of the ooze harmlessly. (miss - not advantage)
The ooze in front holds a moment. A sudden, loud roar of fire spreads from it, engulfing the man on his knees and filling the entire hall from floor to ceiling in front of you. The heat radiating from it hurts your exposed skin, but the black flames only reach halfway to you, but a transparent green mist spreads past it, clouding the air just in front of your group. When the flames subside, the man lay motionless still with his hands around his throat, his skin being slowly coated in black, bubbling up. The nightwear seared, some of it has been cooked into his skin. The hall is scorched, but there are no fires.
The ooze rolls with sudden momentum toward you, bouncing over the body without pause. It covers the 30 feet, bounding high as it comes within 5 feet toward Badrizar in the center. Badrizar steps back as the ooze slams into him, twisting his body mildly from the impact. (attack vs Badrizar: 16, a miss or 6 bludgeoning damage depending on whether or not he has his shield out) It rebounds back, stopping just in front of the group.
You are 15 feet from the large door to the main hall, behind you. The hall you're fighting in is 15 feet wide, 55 feet long. The three of you in a line across it, 35 feet from the end of the hall to the display room. On the left from your reckoning, at the entrance to the hall are the stairs up. There are 2 other doors on the left wall, the first adjacent to your group, the other 20 feet toward the end of the hall. There are 3 more on the opposite wall on your right, one close to the end of the hall, one 10 feet from you toward the main hall, and the middle one next to your group toward the end of the hall.

As he stumbles away from the door in surprise, it takes Kroneker quite a bit of time to regain his composure and prepare his crossbow to fire. But he did have time to use his Hunter's Sense to learn how to kill the enemies in front of him. "Kroneker doesn't know what these things are, but they're immune to fire and acid, and weak to thunder!" Says the goblin as he uses a bonus action to designate the Shield Ooze his Slayer's Prey and shoot it.
Crossbow attack (Shield Ooze): 21 Damage: 8
"Don't ask Kroneker how he knows that, Kroneker can explainlater!" The goblin continues as he backs away to the big door and tries to push it open with his body. If it opens, Kroneker will continue walking as far back as he's able.
The bolt cuts through the Shield Ooze, making a fleshy sound as it blasts out the other side. (20 damage - If you can better describe a critical hit on an ooze with a crossbow...)
Kroneker backs to the door, the handle being the only obstacle to opening it. (Free action to do so...)
The Sheild Ooze rolls out, stopping 5 feet behind the first ooze, 10 feet from Badrizar and Selthar. It takes no further apparent action, the shield upon it facing the party. (Defense action... again how do you describe an ooze doing that?)
Selthar'sintent: Attack the Ooze with Advantage using his remaining dagger. If that one is no longer living by the time it gets to Selthar'sturn he will stay next to Badrizarand Ready the Attack action with the trigger being the Shield Ooze comes into range.
Dagger with Advantage vs Ooze: 16 Damage: 17
Readied Attack with Advantage vs Shield Ooze: Attack: 22 Damage: 16
Badrizar, mindful of the wounds he yet carries, casts Bless upon his mates and continues his retreat, keeping the maximum possible distance between himself and the oozes before him.
The ooze does not provoke as Badrizar moves back. Selthar follows him, looking to get the most out of his attacks. He does not provoke, either.
With Kroneker just outside the hall at the door, Badrizar at the door in the hall, and Selthar beside him, the black ooze follows up to Selthar. Just as the ooze leaps, Selthar sweeps his dagger along the length of the slime in an eviscerating cut, spilling bubbling jelly. (24 damage to black ooze)
Though Selthar evades the leap in his attack, the jelly rebounds against the wall with a hard smash into his side. (attack vs Selthar: 21, 7 bludgeoning damage) It settles in front of Selthar, within reach of Badrizar. Leaving a trail of jelly, the flames on it seem to weaken.
Both jellies are past halfway dead.
Kroneker's turn, round 2. After, shield jelly, then back to Badrizar in round 3.
