Barthen's can give you the climber's kit, the rope, and 10 pitons -- all they've got -- for 40 gold pieces.
When Lathalas, followed by Farnakees, start asking for weapons, the clerks refer them to the Lionshield Coster on the other side of town. They stare with wide eyes at the goliath, who must bend to avoid hitting his head against the ceiling.
Lathalas will take the climber's kit for 30 GP but will pass on the rope and pitons for now.
"10 dragons for hempen rope? Another time, perhaps." he muses to himself.
The elf heads to the Lionshield Coster and asks if they have the rest of the items he's looking for: spear, shortbow/longbow, arrows, rope, and pitons.
An elf, a human, and a goliath arrive at a modest trading post. Hanging above the front door is a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it.
A middle-aged woman runs the trading post. She eyes all of you with a wary eye, and her look of distrust grows when she hears what you're asking for.
Rastaris addresses the woman - "We have some business with Townmaster Wester then off to Gnome-N-Garde. Since we have some extra coin to spend, we thought it prudent to stock up on equipment since we don't know when we will be returning. Sadly, while I don't consider us mercenaries, we do jobs for a monetary reward so on some level this may be true."
"Well, all of us do jobs for monetary reward, I would say, - even the beauteous shop keeper here" Farnakees muses. "Except the holy monk or the Paladin, perhaps"
Rastaris continues: "We were directed to your establishment by the proprietor of Barthen's Provisions. While he had some of the items we need, we are in the market for some weapons. Having a spare weapons is essential when out here in the wilds. We hope you will oblige us."
"We have the remainder of our coin left to spend in here. We hope you can give us a good price."
"My comrades need a spear, a shortbow or longbow, arrows, hempen rope, and pitons. Would you have these?"

Farnakees tags along Lathalas like a lost puppy, then makes the same offer he made at the general store.
Rastaris silently accompanies the group during the shopping trip.
Mithrokk enters the Lionshield Coster as well.
Alianna trails slightly behind the group, taking in what she can of the town and enters the Lionshield Coster a couple of minutes after they do.

"Caravan guards, are you," she asks.
Lathalas asks for the prices of the items he seeks.
Farnakees points to Alianna: "She is..."
"You are, right?" He asks with mage.
She aims the same suspicious stare at the elf and the dwarf who arrive at the tail-end of the party.
"You haven't answered my question," she tells Lathalas.
"And you're a bad liar," she tells Farnakees. "That elf doesn't look like a mercenary, but you do."
"From time to time," answers Lathalas.
“For the special delivery,” she says.
"I'm just a rat exterminator, " Farnakess says, feigning hurt pride. "The silver-backed kind."
“Today, we are customers.”

Lathalas thinks, "Ho ... holy?"

Farnakees notices the puzzlement on the Lathalas's face. "Don't tell me you're not a monk!"
