OOC: If the Javelin Orc is still up, Farnakees will drawn on his reserves of energy (Action Surge) and attack again: Attack 15 + 5 = 20 Damage 4 + 3 = 7
OOC: Make an Investigation check and specify what you're looking at.
Not known for his woodlore, Rastaris examines the camp. He doesn't learn much from the detritus lying around, but he quickly realizes one thing: this camp is much too big for just five orcs.
Rastaris doesn't learn anything about the big orc; he does discover that orc by the campfire had stacks of javelins nearby - 17 - which is why he didn't seem like he was going to run out.
OOC - Remember that this battle occurred near dusk; three of your party members are already slightly exhausted. You've been following a trail to the mountain, but this looks to be the only suitable campsite you've come across. You'll need to rest at least eight hours to get rid of the fatigue -- four for the elves, though, don'cha jes hate 'em. If you push on to Gnomengarde, you'll probably arrive there just before dawn. You'll have to travel at night, though, and will have to roll Survival checks again.
OOC - If youse guys leave this area, you'll be camping on the trail. which means your chances of encountering stuff will shoot up -- just saying.
Alianna thoroughly investigates the orc camp, learning things which her less observant companions failed to notice.
Counting the number of pallets, she estimates there were at least twenty orcs in the camp. A large group of them appeared to have left earlier, perhaps on a raid. She notices damaged or discarded weapons cast aside, as the orcs checked their gear before moving out. The ones left in the camp were probably the runts of the litter, deemed unworthy to join in the killing and plundering.
She also finds 2 healer's kits and 2 spell component pouches. Rastaris probably missed these, she thinks, because they appear to be the sort of herbs and spell components preferred by orc shamans; she conjectures that there is at least one spellcaster in the tribe.
Lastly, she finds the burned bones of small humanoids in some of the campfires, likely the leftovers from the orcs' gruesome feasts.

OOC - Wow, my greataxe orc really spooked you guys. He is battered by weapons and spells, but still he laughs and fights on ... barely.
OOC - Okay, I posted the above before I saw Lathalas's rolls.
Lathalas comes with the death blow, stabbing and pounding the orc, burying its face in the dirt.
OOC - This orc has left the building ...
OOC - Let's see if Farnakees can finish off the javelin orc tomorrow.
Farnakees sees his turn coming up, and thinks there isn't any sense waiting until tomorrow to finish off the Javelin Orc.
Attack: 18 + 5 = 23
Damage: 2 + 3 = 5
OOC: If the Javelin Orc is still up, Farnakees will drawn on his reserves of energy (Action Surge) and attack again: Attack 15 + 5 = 20 Damage 4 + 3 = 7
Farnakees strikes down the last orc with two swift blows from his longsword.
OOC - The encounter is over. Tell me what the party wants to do now. Make an Investigation check, then tell me what you're examining.
The party will make preparations for long rest. We are exhausted and battle weary and hope to replenish ourselves here.
OOC: Can Farnakees or Mithrokk make use of the Plate Armor?
OOC - You guys pretty much wrecked it when you killed the orc. You could have it repaired by a blacksmith, though, if you can find one.
We’’d like to search the bodies for anything of interest.
Rastaris wishes to investigate the camp site (where they set up their fire), the big orc, and the orc throwing the javelins (the spokesperson).
Investigation Check: 8 + 5 = 13
He also takes out his dagger and slices of the ears of the orcs - 5 pairs in total.
Does he find anything of value?
This happened near the end of the day when we were about to reach Gnomengarde, right?
"Let us make camp elsewhere if we are to rest?"
"These orcs might have others on patrol which may return."
OOC: Make an Investigation check and specify what you're looking at.

“Friends, this is not a suitable place to rest. We’ll have to find a better spot. Valergos.”
Investigation Check - Camp = 13
Investigation Check - Big Orc 1 + 5 = 6
Investigation Check - Orc with Javelin = 11 + 5 = 16
"I agree with Mithrokk. Take whatever is useful or valuable but we must continue to move."
"Lathalas, did the orc shooting us have any more arrows? Could you use them?"
Alianna will check Orc with longbow, if she can reach him- Investigation: 5 + 5 = 8
OOC: If she can't reach it, can Mage Hand retrieve the longbow?
OOC: Can she see any other orcs from this vantage point? Perception: 5 +1= 6
"Yes, let's move! Quickly!"
"Lathalas, maybe you'll have a better chance of retrieving the longbow."

OOC: Once we find a good spot, we should hunker down for a long rest
Rastaris will be part of the 1st Watch.
OOC - Nice ...
Realizing the difficulty of climbing to where the fallen orc is, Alianna uses Mage Hand to retrieve the longbow.
OOC - No, Alianna cannot see orcs from this location; she can investigate the camp, though.
Alianna decides to investigate the camp as well: Investigation 20+5= 22
She hands the longbow to Lathalas. "Here... to replace the phantom longbow I gave you earlier." she says with an embarassed smile.
Afterwards, Alianna enters her 4 hour-elf trance to recharge herself and takes the 3rd and 4th watch.
