You might have missed it Ash, but before the secret door was opened, Nicolas healed your wounds by channeling celestial energy, restoring 5 hit points.
The halflings seem unnerved by the laughter. "Uncanny!" remarks Remacle. "They must have found some other way in. That throws a bit of a spanner into our plans, doesn't it lads? On the bright side, it might be a good thing if there's more than one way out of this place."
He looks from one to another of the party. "Well, times a wastin'," he says. "Which of them doors do you think we ought to try first?"
He looks at Tarek and Aluzira. "Tarek, you look like the strongest one here, and the two of you make a good team. It's your decision to make I think, unless anyone else has a strong opinion. One door's as good as another, as far as I'm concerned."
Aluzira shrugs in response to Anakis trying to figure out how a kid would have gotten down here in the first place. “Why do you think so?” she asks Ash curiously when he mentions it might not be a kid, before asking Mr. Remacle, “They? Whose they?” Her brows starting to furrow from all the questions running around her head. “Any door is good with me, I don’t see any particular reason to choose one over the other either. What do you think?” she asks looking to Tarek.
Ash glances at Alizura “We are the first people down here that we know of in quite a while. If an illegal team like our half long friends here came down, any kids would know not to give away there own position. Unless you know of any kids that have been kidnapped from the surface recently, I suspect that whatever made that sound met the same fate as the zombies years ago. It may look like a kid, but I suspect it has probably been dead for a long while.”

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Tarek, there are only two doors that lead out of the room (other than the one you have opened). By "the middle door", I assume you mean the one that is straight ahead of you? The other one is to the right.
What does everyone think of Tarek's suggestion, and what does anyone do about it?
Anakis moves over to the indicated door and puts an ear to it to listen (Perception: 8). She shrugs after a moment, "I'm not sure if this is the right way, but forwards is a good direction." She steps back to give Tarek and Aluzira room to open the door, "Let's go this way."
“Ah, right sorry!” Aluzira replies apologetically to Mr. Remacle, before falling silent as she listens to Ash “Oh.. I should hope that it’s just foolish children, it would be sad to find children zomblies,” she says with a frown. She then makes her way to the middle door and prepares to help open it. “Ready when you are.”
"I... yes," Tarek simply states. "Let's hope that the children are okay." He moves towards Aluzira and begins to push the door open. (Strength: 12)
"Well, it was worth the try," Tarek says after failing to open the door. "Shall we just try the other door instead?" Tarek will hang back and listen for the voices of the children (Perception: 5).
Unfortunately, this door is a little more firmly stuck than the last one, and you and Aluzira have to work for several minutes excising large chunks of rotten waterlogged door out of the doorway to create an opening.
You are all surprised as what look like three stalactites, each about a yard long, begin to fall from the ceiling of the hexagonal room about thirty feet above the halflings' heads.
Everyone make a Dexterity check to determine your place in the initiative order.

"Why, the wee small children, of course," says Remacle in response to Aluzira's question, "or whatever it was that made that laughing sound."
"I'd assume we'd want a more direct path if we'd want to get out of here," Tarek thinks out loud. "So I'd suggest we go through the middle door."
(I did miss that lol)

Yes, Tarek means the door straight ahead.
Ash shrugs "I have no preference, but the middle sounds fine."

Even though the air is very silent and still, you don't hear anything beyond the door.
