Anakis taps her lip with a finger as she thinks. "Well, I've managed to stay reasonably unscathed down here, so we could search some more. But then," she looks to the bags of coins, "We do have all this to carry with us too. What if we came back later on to find more stuff? We did find the queen earlier and she was asking for help, perhaps we can come back to help her later once we've gotten some fresh air?"
“That sounds like a good idea!” Aluzira says enthusiastically. “I should probably grab some things when we get back as well,” she adds, looking at her empty sheath.
Anakis points up the stairs, "Well, there is a breeze coming from that way. But it also smells a little smokey, so if we go up, we should be careful. I don't remember that smell from earlier."
“Right,” Aluzira says in agreement. “I do like the idea of heading back up to take some of the weight off before continuing though. What does everyone else think?”
Creeping down the hall, you come to the large chamber draped with spider webs that you passed through earlier today. Immediately to the left is a wide pillared hallway, at the end of which, Anakis, you can just barely see yet another ascending stairway. To the right and back is another passage that quickly turns a corner and passes out of view, while ahead and to the left across the chamber is the entrance to the passageway that leads back the way you came in this morning.
"So it's across here, is it?" asks Remacle, keeping an eye on the cobwebs covering the ceiling.
Travelling along the zig-zagging corridor, you come to the foot of the long stairway at the bottom of which is the spear-trap that Anakis triggered earlier. Upon, ascending, you find the hallway dotted with mounded fungus gardens, and after walking along the hallway for about ten minutes, you arrive at a four-way intersection. Straight ahead, the hallway intersects after another short distance with a wider hall that you had originally come down, while to the left is a narrower passage that you had followed to a dead end earlier. The narrow passage also continues to the right, but you hadn't taken that way before, and it appears to continue straight for a long way into the darkness.
"Back that way we came earlier?" Anakis points down the wider hall. "It would be interesting to see what's down there, but that can wait," she says with a nod down the other narrow passage.
Continuing forward across the intersection, you come to a wider hallway, and turning right and travelling some ways, you come to the hall where Tarek fell in the pit. Turning right again and travelling for another long way, you come safely to the fireplace at the bottom of the chimney through which you descended. There are plenty of handholds, and climbing you arrive in the halls where earlier you met the ghost of Annote, although she is no longer there. Continuing through the chamber with the throne and the scroll and travelling along another long, wide tunnel, you arrive in the chamber where your rope still hangs down through a shaft in the ceiling. Climbing again, you find yourselves in the small round chamber painted with the likenesses of the gods and, after passing through a few doorways, arrive in the large hexagonal chamber where you were attacked by the "piercers" and stand in front of the secret door.
Remacle turns to you, Anakis, and says, "Would you like to do the honors?" indicating the keyhole.
Anakis nods silently, and rifles through her bag to find the dagger hilt key. She inserts it and opens up the hidden door, then steps back to let the others go through.
The door pivots open, revealing the short hallway where you found the hilt. The passage through which you entered runs to the left and right. To the right are the remains of the zombie you fought here about six hours ago and the passageway running farther into the undercity. To the left is the way out back to the chamber through which you entered.
Echoing along the passageway, you once again hear the sounds of yelping, doglike laughter that you heard up here this morning.
Assuming you go left towards the exit, you arrive in the chamber with the plaque that bears the council's prohibition against entering the undercity. Through the archway, you can see the boatmen waiting for you on the opposite bank of the river which has subsided since the storm ended earlier today.
"This is where we part ways, I guess," says Remacle, looking sheepish. "You've all been stout companions to have on this adventure, and we made a good haul because of it. I don't think we would have tried to go so deep into the earth if we hadn't had the likes of you with us, and who knows what we would've come away with. Isn't that right fellas?"
He turns and looks at his companions, who all nod in agreement, and then back at the rest of you and asks, "Now, how were you thinkin' we should divide up the loot?"

(Sorry, I've been meaning to respond to Anakis's attempt to sniff the air.)
The slight breeze comes down the stairs and past you, disappearing into the underground river and carrying a smoky smell.
Anakis nods, "I think getting rid of some baggage would be good. Then we can come back down and find some more perhaps?"
Everyone else in the group nods and agrees that continuing forward on this level back the way you came in sounds like the best plan.
Anakis nods and picks up her stuff. She then creeps ahead, slowly, keeping an eye out for any traps or enemies (Stealth: 21 and Perception: 15).
Aluzira follows close behind ready to lend a hand if anything comes up.

Anakis nods, also keeping an eye on the spiderwebs over the ceiling as she carefully moves forward.

“Yeah, let’s keep heading up,” Aluzira says with a nod.

Aluzira shivers, “I’m usually fond of laughter, but I don’t like this sound.. shall we keep going?”
Anakis nods, "Let's get out of here and rest up for a bit." She creeps out, keeping and eye and ear out (Sneak: 17 and Perception: 21).
