Torrent, you see Tarek's javelin launch from his hand and the giant toads react defensively. Taking off your backpack (I'll assume it was over one shoulder on your non-shield bearing side) and retrieving your items takes up your action. Let me know if you wanted to move on your turn.
Anakis, you can also move if you want.
The giant toads, seeing a fast moving object flying through the air towards them, react with interest and move forward to intercept it. There are three toads in the pool, and they swim forward, entering the range of Anakis's cantrip. Her icy beam hits the nearest toad, freezing its muscles, slowing its movement, and attracting its attention in Anakis's direction. It continues swimming across the pool. When it reaches the bank, it leaps into the thicket, landing about 40 feet from Anakis.
The other two swimmers are joined by their friends in the water. The five of them reach the near bank and jump towards the rest of the group, landing on the near side of the spruce trees in the marshy soil about 30 feet away.
Tarek, your javelin lands a blow on the toad in the center as it tries to snap your weapon out of the air. Its globular eyes fix upon you as it licks its lips, which drip with blood and venom, and sniffs the air with interest. You can move if you wish.
Tarek will also set down his backpack (assuming it only takes 1 action), hopefully freeing up enough weight to clear the encumbrance, and then offer a silent prayer to Pelor.
Yes, Tarek, that’s fine. Taking off your backpack is interacting with an object which you can do in addition to your action which was throwing your javelin.
(Here! Sorry! Lots of stuff came up last night; it shouldn't happen again. :) )
Aluzira Looks at Ulben and smiles, not quite sure what to say since she's scared herself and runs up to the pit, so it's between her and the toads, and if the toad is close enough, throws one of her daggers at it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anakis will have fallen back after her cantrip has been launched - up to her full movement of 30ft but keeping her pursuant toad 60ft away, unless the terrain dictates less.
(DM Question - did Anakis notice if the cold damage was resisted by the toad at all? Not sure if you want a Perception check (21) or passive (11))
In Anakis' next turn, she will continue to focus on the toad attracted to her and slow it with Ray of Frost (Attack: 17 Damage: 7) unless she perceived the cold damage to be resisted. If she perceived that the toad resisted the cold, then she'll use Fire Bolt (Attack: 25 Damage: 8). She moves her full movement but will arc around the party to make sure she's not getting too far from them or the fight.
Aluzira, you’re fine. Your turn came up less than an hour ago, but I think we’re imagining the scene a little differently. There isn’t much of a pit to speak of. Torrent began excavating one that’s about 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep about 30 feet away from you in the thicket in front of where Anakis is crouching down. He got distracted looking around for poisonous shrubs, however, and when Tarek threw his javelin, Torrent ran out of time for digging.
30 feet is too far for you to run in the mud and throw your dagger, anyway. The farthest you could get is 15 feet unless you devote your action to making a dash for it. In light of that, is there anything you’d like to do differently?
Anakis, I meant that you could move on your turn, when the toad was still out of range of your spell. Moving after you cast it will have to wait until your next turn and will require you to either crawl or stand from prone.
You don’t notice that the toad seems at all resistant to cold.
Ok. Well Anakis would have at least stood up as she cast the spell, or as part of her turn as she knows she can't stealthily cast spells. Everything would be the same in my next turn as described though. Ray of Frost, movement towards/arcing around group.
Aluzira, I'm not clear on whether you still wanted to throw your dagger. If you did, the toads are 30 feet away, so the attack would be at disadvantage, so you would need to make just one more d20 roll to see if it's lower than the one you already made or move forward 10 feet (costing 20 feet of your speed because of the mud).
If not, and there's nothing else you want to do, we can move on to Fluin's turn.
Okay, well, to summarize, you're all facing off against a line of five giant toads, 30 feet away from you on the edge of a marshy clearing in which you're all standing, except for Anakis who's standing about 20 feet off to the left of the leftmost of you in a thicket with a giant toad chasing her. Of the five other toads, the leftmost of them landed a short way into the thicket, and the rightmost is standing among the spruce trees which are sparsely distributed in that direction. The toad in the middle was hit in the mouth with Tarek's javelin when it tried to catch it, thinking it was a giant bug. The javelin lies on the ground nearby.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The toads are all clumped up right? If they are, he will cast Ice Knife, wiping a drop of water off his skin and flinging it in the direction of the centermost toad. Attack: 23 Damage: 8 piercing. It'll then deal 4 ice damage to each creature within five feet of it (whether or not the attack roll hits).
If the Toads are spread out, he will just use Thorn Whip on the closest one, pulling it towards him. Attack: 15 Damage: 2
They’ve fanned out into a line across from you about 50 feet long, and then there’s the one chasing Anakis which is 20 feet behind the others and towards the left from your perspective.
But, yes, the five are right next to one another, so there would be a toad within 5 feet on either side of your target.
Fluin initiative: 14
Tarek Initiative: 7
"I hate to do this guys..." he sighs.

Ulben. what do you do?
Ulben stands still and does nothing, he is scared. (Sorry guys, Ulben is not a fighter as a character.)

Fluin, you're up!
Fluin sizes up the enemy and nods, giving them a smile of anticipation. "About time..." With a growl he goes into a rage...
he then throws a javelin at the one already injured.
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
And I am guessing that misses...
The javelin flies wide of its mark. (Also, keep in mind that rage damage applies if you use a javelin in melee, but not as a thrown weapon.)
