Aluzira smiles at Anakis with relief. “It’s no bother! I was just about to call for you, you disappeared so quickly!” Aluzira says with a laugh. She looks to the others to see what they think of going down, though most of her attention is on listening to Anakis talk about where the stone steps could lead. “It’s possible they lead to the floor above us, we did drop down a hole to get here.”
Anakis remembers the mural on the wall before they jumped down the last hole and the image of the Mask pointing down the hole. "Oh yeah..." she taps her finger to her lips, thinking, and then quietly to herself "I wonder whether he wants me to follow that path down too?"
Anakis, if you decide the Shadowlord wants you to go down the chimney into the lower level, and you get everyone to come along with you, I'll give you Inspiration.
Anakis smiles, imagining the loner god of shadows nodding and grinning at her. She turns to Aluzira and the others. "Let's head this way. We should be able to climb down and it just looks like a chimney. We'd get past all the creatures and undead wandering around on this level then too." She looks to Remacle, "All the closer to your treasures too, Mr. Buttons," she throws an innocent looking smile at the halfling.
“Okay!” Aluzira says in reply to Anakis moving towards the chimney. “I guess I feel a bit better knowing it’s a chimney that caused most this soot,” she adds with a laugh. (She’ll head down once everyone else is ready to head down)
Remacle looks around at the rest of the halflings and clears his throat, seeming a bit nervous about the prospect of descending into such a deep, dark hole. "A-alright," he says, "we're game. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward, as I've heard said," and the halflings prepare themselves to scale down the chimney.
Torrent just grumbles something about not liking dark enclosed places, but Ash seems eager to go down into the shadows. "I can just see the bottom," he says looking down the hole. "It looks like a safe descent. What do you two think?" He looks as Tarek and Nicolas for their opinions.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Ash asks Anakis. "You can see farther in the dark than I can. Why don't you lead the way down? The rest of us'll follow you." He gives her a reassuring look.
Anakis ponders for a moment, then nods with a smile. She looks down the chimney hole, trying to figure out a way down, before disappearing down into the sooty darkness.
The chimney is a tight fit, but the cobblestones of which it is made provide ready handholds that make for an easy descent. Ash, the halflings, and Torrent follow closely behind as well. At the bottom of the chimney is a large fireplace set into the side of a twenty foot wide corridor that runs roughly parallel to the one above. The air is still, and the moldy smell is very strong. Here and there throughout the corridor are heaps of decaying plant, animal, and waste material upon which grow various types of mold, slime, and fungus. The corridor stretches into the darkness in both directions to the limit of Anakis's vision.
Anakis drops as quietly as she can to the bottom, then creeps out to look down each direction of the corridor to see if she can make out any creatures or undead (Stealth: 10 and Perception: 9).
Aluzira walks over to the piles of fungus and looks at them curiously, trying to see if she remembers reading about any of them or what they could be used for.

take the first roll. It didn’t go through until I tried rolling again so the second doesn’t count.
You seem to recall reading about certain bugs and beetles that would farm fungus for food grown in gardens. These mounds, however, are much larger than anything described in those books.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Giant bugs!" Anakis hisses, "I hate bugs." She looks each way down the corridor, thinking a moment. "Um, I guess we go this way?" She points down the corridor in the direction of the way they had previously travelled above. She attempts to move quietly down the corridor just a little ways but keeping the group close by, to see if she can make anything out down that way (Stealth: 19).
Traveling down the corridor a little ways doesn’t change the view very much. The wide corridor, which arches up to a height of about twenty feet in the center, seems to continue on roughly, but not quite, straight for an unknown distance, punctuated at intervals only with the occasional hillock of fungus. The teeth of animals long decomposed in the moldy piles lay scattered across the ground. As you move along, the still, almost stifling silence is interrupted by a ringing peal of laughter, echoing down through the tunnels above.

(OOC - Bump for Tarek &/or Nicolas to chime in.)
Tarek pauses to think for a moment. "Yes, I think it should be fine. Should we get going?"
Anakis rubs her hands together with a smile, then makes her way to the hole waiting to climb down.

Aluzira follows close behind as carefully as possible, wondering what lies in the room below.

The immediate area seems to be free of any creatures (undead included). Assuming everyone else comes down to join you, take a point of Inspiration.
