[The road towards the destination was long, with it going through the countryside-like scenery, you notice fields that are just a few feet away from road that you walk upon. However, you do not see anyone tending to them due to the recent invasion in the territory.]
"We should be able to rest at an inn at the next state."
[The unnamed fox stated, holding a map that she had taken out from under her cloak as your party went through the second pair of gates and told you that it was going to take about an hour by foot to get there.]
Akome is clearly unsettled by the effects of the invasion, finding it hard when coming to terms with its motive.
It is as this point that Akome struggles to keep in pace with his companions, mentally tiring himself out. "This—bloodshed is needless. What would be the point of this anyway?" his voice is audible enough for the rest to hear, but the tone could be heard as him asking a question he does not know the answer to.
[The journey there did not cause you to encounter any hostiles, the next state's gates was unlike the previous gates. You notice that the guards were dressed differently than the ones that were located at the royal capital.]
"The guards here are still on the side of the kingdom. They are not one of the "traitors."
[The entry into the village was rather easy, considering that the guards let you through without making a fuss.]
[DM: Would anyone like to roll a observation check?]
[You notice that the locals seem to act like they have no idea as to what was currently happening in the capital, it was almost as if there wasn't an invasion happpening at all as you made your way to the inn where you would stay in for the time being to get some rest after traveling for a few days to another kingdom.
The citizens of the kingdom which you haven't since yet upon arriving gave you quite the surprise as you see them in the village.
They appear to be humanoid, like how the unnamed kitsune's face looked and not the way that you knew they would.
The frontdesk immediately recognised who the unnamed fox was and led you to the second floor of the establishment where the rooms were located and that was when you heard some kitsune talking about the how their race evolved to be more humanoid-like from being anthropomorphic in appearance.
Two rooms were occupied by your group, one for your four person party and one for the unnamed fox, the receptionist told yoy that each room only had four beds before he left and headed back to the lobby.]
"We'll be staying here for two days for the sake of getting some rest before we gather supplies again and head out. You are free to explore around the village for the time being if you so wish. And as for me, I'll just be talking with the villagers for now."
[Having said that, the unnamed fox also made her way back down and leaving you in the hallway of the second floor.]
Akome takes a moment to steel their thoughts, considerably taxing himself until they finally reached the resistance-filled village. Once inside, he is comfortable.
The Wolf-Tengu goes through his backpack to check on his belongings, before leading to speak with the rest, "Well, I guess we should look around the village? I do think there's a lot more going on than we currently know," Akome eventually notices that he has eaten a few rations since the beginning of travels, pausing himself before continuing, "we probably need more supplies anyway, so it shouldn't hurt to go around." Akome looks at the rest of the party, easing his expression while waiting for their responses.
Basho is pleased to be in a village rather than another city - you can see that he's more relaxed now. 'I think some fishing for me, if I can find a stream or lake. I can smoke some of what I catch then, to help replenish supplies.' You sense that he's just looking for an excuse to fish for a little while, to complete his un-winding. He looks around to find a likely young lad, crouching down when he finds one. 'Where are the good fishing spots around here..?'
(OOC: He'll try and find a fishing spot where there are some other fishermen, so he can fish, and pick up some local gossip at the same time...)

"Oh... Uh, there's a nearby lake that the adults fish at."
[The young kitsune lead you to a lake, not too far from the village chief's residence.
The said body of water was in the middle of a well-kept forest, with the local men already doing their fishing.]
Salgim had remained aloof since entering the kingdoms gate. Unable to ignore his suspicions. But, they'd traveled some ways now, and despite not sharing any more details than she had in the beginning, Salgim had yet to detect any traps or danger she could be leading them to.
It was good to be cautious, but only a fool wasted a good day, in search of a hard one.
So while Basho sought out a fishing hole, Salgim would seek out the shops! He had never been to this kingdom, but he was no stranger to being in a strange land. He loved to explore the small shops of a new place. He had come to learn that there were always artisans hidden in the most unlikely places, even in the tiniest of villages. A place such as this, would almost certainly have at least one.
"My friends I am off to peruse the shops off the beaten path. Lets plan to have a drink together this evening?" With that he made for downstairs to leave the inn and seek out something interesting to buy.
Akome seems pleased that his acquaintances are able to busy themselves with their own company. He thinks of whether a forge could be in this village, but he settles on disagreeing on the idea. Akome went to the inn's first floor via stairs, leaving the inn afterwards. He aims to walk around the village to hear local chatter, perhaps picking up any rumors of people that have errands for adventuring folk such as him.
((I'm guessing this would be a perception roll? If so:))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Basho spends the day fishing, and passing time with the other fishermen. He waits until he’s caught something to establish his ‘bona fides’ before seeing what information he can glean.

[The fishing men were cautious around your presence but they lowered their guard once they found out that you'll be an ally once the reclaiming of the capital begins.
That was when they inform you about the royal family of The Kingdom of Oksa, who only has two members after King Thalgroz the Conqueror of The Kingdom of Jigoku slaughtered most of her majesty, the Empress' family members.
The only relative thay survived was her daughter, who had taken charge of the village that you're about to travel to while the empress was away.]
