"I'd join you my friend, of course, but I'd probably slow you down in the water filled portions" Banlashan's face showed sincerity, he felt bad at Mist's obvious frustration.
Mist and Thorin move back to the upper part of the complex taking care not to be surprised. The noble man tries to be discreet but utterly fails.
There are no threat that you meet on the way. Outside the night is surprisingly clear and you take a huge breath of air. One that you didn't know you missed.
Once outside you can't see any of the Flaming Fists patrolling. With the large intake of refugees they seem to be stretched thin.
( It takes a few minutes to go there. so the others have some time before them. )
Alyseris will let Banlashan take a look at the spellbooks he found earlier, especially calling attention to the one with Mellor Silvermantle's rune on it. 'This looks like it could be significant. This wizard, a member of his family, or one of his apprentices, could be a cult member - or victim.'
"Very possible..." Banlashan says as he began to pour through the book, trying to quickly look for any personal notes, or information that could be useful.
When we get the man outside the bathhouse Thorin will ask Mist: "Are we going to escort him home / to the guards? He should be safe now and I don't like leaving our friends down there with who knows how many cultists' running around?"
”We’ll probably have to, otherwise his entire family will complain to the city about us. They may be spoiled, but they’re still nobles, and they can really screw us over. Let’s hurry it up though. I hate to leave like this too.”
"It is a truth that sometimes the weak need our help. But how is that he man they are escorting is able to be a chief of this city if he cannot walk himself home?" Badran thought that he would understand more about the city as he stayed longer, but it is turning out that as he learns one thing, he learns that doesn't know another.
Badran will keep an eye and ear on the door, warpick at the ready.

Just a husband, father, DM, strength coach, writer, mustard producer, youth minister, and US Army Airborne veteran trying to stay sane.
As you start to move forward and into the dark streets of the a group of Flaming Fists patrolling the area comes toward you. The young lieutenant seems eager to prove something to his men. He moves forward barking at you.
"There is a curfew in the city. What are you doing out at this hour."
Chest puffing, he is ready to unleash his men on you.
OOC: did we get papers from the Captain showing we are on a mission for the Flaming Fist? If so he will show them to him and explain the situation. If that works he will ask him if his men can escort the Noble home so he and Mist can get back to more pressing matters.
Thorin does have a small Flaming Fist badge that the captain gave you. You all have one just in case you need to show that you are part of the company.
Thorin will show the Lieutenant the badge and say: "We are on a mission for the Flaming Fist that has to do with the murderous cultists. We have found this man being tortured by them. We were trying to get him home as he would not go by himself. We have friends that may be dealing with the remaining cultists' and could really use our help. Do you think you and your men could escort this Noble home so we may get back to dealing with these murdering cultists'?
Mist avoids as much notice as possible in case any of the men know her from anything she’s done in the past. She just stands a little behind the man, trying to seem like an escort.

Thorin will go with Mist
Mist and Thorin move back to the upper part of the complex taking care not to be surprised. The noble man tries to be discreet but utterly fails.

When we get the man outside the bathhouse Thorin will ask Mist: "Are we going to escort him home / to the guards? He should be safe now and I don't like leaving our friends down there with who knows how many cultists' running around?"
Getting in close, Mist quietly tells Thorin,
”We’ll probably have to, otherwise his entire family will complain to the city about us. They may be spoiled, but they’re still nobles, and they can really screw us over. Let’s hurry it up though. I hate to leave like this too.”
For Mist and Thorin
The trek to the nobles house is longer than you expected. A group of Flaming Fists passes by and laughs at you when you try to ask them to take Klim.
( You can roll whatever you want to change that behavior. Persuasion, intimidation or something appropriate. I ll update the thread. )
Mist accepts that the Flaming Fist won’t do anything for her, and will continue on her way unless Thorin says something.
Thorin grunts in disgust but follows Mist. The sooner we get this weak noble home the sooner we get back to our friends.
