Hatch will get down to one knee and bow before Queen Athasme. "I thank you kindly your majesty, for answering our questions and listening to our tales. It truly is an honor to meet one of such beauty and grace as yourself. If you do not mind, may we speak again? I would treasure your company, however short it may be."
" However short it may be for us, it may not be so short a time for yourself....but if you are offering yourself then return here on the new moon and we will dance together."
" We have not had a visitor of the Pit before."
"For a chance to dance with such as yourself, gladly. Thank you your majesty. Until we meet again, may your time be always pleasant." He promised, giving another bow before they left.
"We have solved the mystery." Brocc says with a glance to the others. "I vote we return to the barbarians and tell them who has their crown, and let them deal with it. We have no reason to get further involved here, unless the barbarians wish to offer us something of value for doing this for them."
"I can think of one reason, lives. I suggest we seek to accompany them in the retrieval of the crown. There is safety in numbers, and whoever the king sends is in enough danger as is, as execution happy as he is. I'd like to do some part in limiting further needless loss of life, if we're able. And for those who may need further incentive, I'm sure a hefty reward may be in the offering."
"let's just go to the king to report and then see, maybe the tribe doesn't even want us to mingle with their business further... Or else, maybe they want to us to deal with it and THEY will offer something"
"Seems like a good option." Brocc agrees. "Our main reason for coming this way was to see about what was causing issues out here, so we have done so. If the king wants us to aid them further, then we can do so, but they need to be willing to offer something for that aid."
Their guide looked somewhat dubious but led them back across the hills towards The Eyrie. As they climbed the stairs again towards the amphitheatre they noted that most of the elders had departed and only the King and a few others remained apparently drinking wine and feasting as they swapped tales.
Tangari came forward and as he did so the King called for silence.
"We have discovered who has taken the crown from you." Brocc says as he rides forward atop his spider. "The farie folk did so, due to transgressions they believe were made against their allies. They then gave the crown to a shadow farie that lives nearby." He pauses for his words to settle in. "That shadow farie now has your crown." Brocc then would wait to see how the king responds.

"Your Highness, if I may add a small detail or two, for instance we have also obtained the name of the shadow farie that took your crown, it's Gristwhistle!"
Banzo kneels ackwardly due to his shell and tries not to tip over while doing so.
The King frowned and leaned forward, " Then the Fay have decared themselves our enemy. Name these allies of theirs. And the transgressor."
" First we will burn out this Gristwhistle and its ilk, reclaim what is ours, and then burn the others of their kind so they do not threaten us again."
"Your highness, forgive me but I don't see your advisors here, may I have but a few words more." Banzo waits until waved to proceed.
"The Fay are already at war. A war between the light fay and the shadowy farie. If you march on one the other will take advantage and join the field, suddenly you will find yourself with 2 armies with which to contend." Banzo pauses briefly to let the last part sink in.
"If you sent someone to deal with this Gristwhistle one on one you would be far more likely to get the crown back sooner, rather than later."
"You will find my counsel superior to any of those sycophants that cling to your garb and hang on every word you speak."
Persuasion: 16
The King laughed uproariously, " Your words are bold, Scaled One."
He looked around at the few sub-chiefs who bristled at Banzos comment, " If anyone is truly aggrieved, you are free to challenge him to combat."
The men looked over Banzo carefully noting his thick shell and arcane accoutrements and with some grumbles averted their eyes.
The King chuckled again, " Well, that is settled."
" Very well, I will send Tangari to go and kill this thing."
" But I still have questions that you have not answered and I would have them answered now. Name the allies of our enemies and name the transgression."
Tangari wheeled about looking concerned, " Uh.....as you wish, my King. Though I have little experience with such beings....perhaps.....I may take some....advisors....with me?"
" I do not care...take who you will. Just get it done."
Tangaris eyes met Banzos with a slightly pleading look.
Brocc remains silent during the rest of the discussion. He nods as further details are added, filling in the gaps he had purposefully left there, but he was not overly worried about that.
"This is the barbarian's crown." Brocc speaks up when their guide is told to go and get the crown back. "What reason is there for us to aid in this attempt." He looks at the king for a long moment. "You send a single warrior and you will fail to get your crown back." He glances to their guide with a bow of respect. "No disrespect meant, as you have proven a capable warrior, and a man of honor." He turns back to the king then. "But a single man cannot do this task, and you will not reclaim your crown in that way." He then glances to his companions. "We can likely get your crown back for you, but what reason do we have to do so? What reward will you give us for doing so?"
Herman stays silent throughout the whole speech, all in all his companions spoke all the pints, especially the last sentences from Banzo he enjoyed very much, thinking under his moustaches
Creating a series of minor illusions (think bad stop motion photography), Zeltheris creates an impression of a fanciful crown worn on the head of an evil fey, the evil of the fey seeping into the crown and tainting it with evil, then a series showing strong barbarians forging a crown of ruby beaks and sapphire wings on a gold base and being worn by an idealized image of the king.
The King frowned and his eyes narrowed, " Thats twice now you've refused to answer who the allies are and what this transgression was.....what are you hiding, Scaled One."
" Huh? I told Tangari to take who he wished. He has a hundred warriors in his kin-chain he can call on if he wishes."
" A new crown? That has merit. But we cannot simply let ourselves be stolen from.....other clans would see us as weak and war upon us."
" But that is no concern of outsiders, you have done as asked and once you answer my questions you are free to leave."
Zeltheris holds up a quick hand, "They didn't actually say it was the King, in fact I believe what they said was whoever strike one of them was called Father, and they took the crown because he was guarding it. It could as easily have been one of the guards. As for warring with the fey, it would not be dissimilar to warring with a swarm of bees or winter itself. They are not a nation with settlements to raid nor armies to meet on the field of battle. They would melt away from your brave warriors and cowardly strike down your families as they slept defenseless."
(I am basing this on my knowledge of fey from other games and mythology, if its different in this world, just ignore that part about warring with them.)
"Your highness, the transgression was against a friend of the Fay they not speak of them by name. But they did say the King raised his hand against their friend." Banzo will tap at his chin some more before continuing, "At the time I took it literally, but now in retrospect I see it may of been a metaphor."
( I'm going to need a Deception check for witholding the name you were given.)

Zeltheris nods cheerfully, “Seems we have a plan, onward!”
"Yes, let us head back and reveal what we've learned." Hatch says, already marching that way.

( All good)
( Congrats! Banzo just saved a little girl who just lost her Father from being horrible butchered as a traitor. Turtle Power!)
"So what will it be?" Brocc asks the king. "Do you wish our aid in this matter or shall we leave to let you go about it your own way?"
