"Let's check the higher-ups section first." Brocc says, turning to the Administration hallway. He would have cast detect magic as they walked over the past ten minutes, and would recast it as it expires, working to keep it up as much as possible as they move along.
Zeltheris continues to follow along, idly wondering to himself, "I wonder if we could restore this place once you've cleared out this rock demon."
The hallway continues on and soon comes to a large semi-circular reception desk behind which are four sets of polished wooden doorswith name plates on them.
There is a smashed and broken bronzelife sized replica of a dwarf on the ground in front of the desk.
Brocc would look around, detect magic being up. If he sees nothing magical he would move to the doors and read the signs on them.
There is nothing magical in the vicinity except for the crystal wall lights.
From left to right the plaques read:
- Junter Silverskull, Dean of Students.
- Rathgar Opalgrinder, University Director
- Fingli Goldknee, Senior Lecturer Engineering
- Lashmi Ambershield, Senior Lecturer Theoretical Studies
As Banzo searches he notes the material is bronze rather than stone.....and there are hundreds of tiny cogs, levers and pistons mixed in with the shattered metal...
There are many pieces....possibly all but a lot are broken, bent or flattened.
Seeing the parts of the construct are broken and not likely to be of use any longer, Brocc is a bit sad to know it will never be able to work again. he sighs as he moves to the first of the doors, and opens it, stepping inside. He is going into the one marked Dean of Students.
Banzo finds a large number of blank parchments, quills and stoppered ink wells. There is a single drawer and within it are a pair of scissors, a large number of fastenings to hold multiple scrolls together, a stuffed woolen mole, a pair of gold spectacles and what was once long ago possibly an apple....
Within is a dark room with rough stone walls draped with maille hangings. Wooden shelves line the room stacked with scrolls, a large dark wood desk takes up the centre of the room before it are two leather stools and behind it a leather and wood stool on a slightly raised dais. On the desk are a scattering of parchment, a tumbled ink well and a number of quills.
Zeltheris follows Brocc and helps him search.
Brocc still has detect magic up.
He moves to the desk and begins to search it...

Brocc and Zeltheris' search reveals that the majority of the scrolls are records of individual students detailing their grades, family names and home towns. There are no personal effects in the room though some of the scattered scrolls on the desk appear to be abandoned poetry of a sort. Brocc discovers a small hidden drawer within the stool containing:

The spectacles make his eyesight much worse.
Brocc slips the key into his pack for identification later. He then moves on to checking the bookshelfs. He concentrates on anything that is magical in nature, trusting others to look for hidden compartments and anything of use against the crystal monster.
Garet hangs back assisting wherever required whilst keeping his senses attuned for any signs of the demon.

Sadly for Brocc the only items on these shelves that aren't student records are books on Human Resources Management.
Garet hears no sign of the Demon and locates no hidden spaces or objects.
They appear to be well made riveted steel maille used as decorative hangings.....one could likely use them as raw material for a suit of maille or similar.
Stepping out of the office, Brocc moves to the next door in the line and enters that one. If Detect Magic has ended he would recast prior to entering.
Garet follows them both into the office, something in the back of his memory had been tingling alarm bells since he saw the door plaques. "Rathar Opalgrinder, wasn't he the owner of Pitbreaker, the magic weapon we seek to vanquish the Demon." Garet puts all his effort into finding the weapon.
Zeltheris shrugs, "Maybe? But this is just his office, isn't it? If it isn't here, maybe we need to find his room?"

But now, when Garet mentioned something really relevant, the barbarian wakes up from his half sleep and gives a nod
"you are right, Garet, that was the person. Now, how can I help, what are we supposed to search"?
Visibly uneasy, anyway Herman offers his help (ooc: if DM allows it, please roll next rolls with advtange because of his help)
Banzo casts his mind back trying to think of a university set within the Moonstone Hills and comes up empty. He does however recall that the Dwarven sacred city of Fangthane has a highly regarded university and though it is quite some way from the Moonstone Hills he has come across at least one reference to ' satellite ' colleges....though Dwarves being secretive folk at the best of times he thinks he is lucky to know that.
As the group looks around the office they see that the interior surfaces have been polished to a high shine, a huge steel desk like an anvil stands in the centre of the room, before it are three steel stools decorated with gold filigree and semi-precious stones. Behind the desk a huge steel chair, inlaid with polished opaline quartz and tourmaline, lies on its side as if kicked over in a hurry.
A pewter and platinum mug sits on top of the desk, whatever liquid was once in it has dried up over time. Also on the desk are a few scribbled notes on parchment. Lining the wall behind the desk are polished steel cabinets and above them on the wall a large display mount for a weapon that is currently empty.
