"I too am puzzled by some of the goblins carrying the single word 'Scimitar' on their person."
Banzo scratches at his head briefly before looking at their new elf companion, "You handled yourself well. We heading to Chalice and can escort you that far at the very least. Wandering around goblin infested countrysides is no place for a lone elf."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(Thank you, and Oops, I thought it was a case of two different kinds of mushrooms, not one red and green kind, that's why the two Survival rolls. If you need Enwynn's next roll for Survival anytime soon, I'll take that second result for then now that I've gone and rolled it.)
"Pretty in colour, but not good to eat..." the elf says quietly in Common, looking from book to fungi again, then in a louder voice "...Because you'll see pretty things that aren't there, then throw up for an hour, among other unpleasant effects."
She looks thoughtful at the discussion of the scraps of text, then racks her memory for any mention of a place known as 'The Black Tower'.
(History check 22)
Enwynn recalls The Black Tower, also known as the Citadel of Chaos, sits upon Craggen Rock and was the seat of power for Balthus Dire and his forbears.
Now that the situation is calm and Herman regained his wits, he sees the elvess that spit a flame during the fight
"Thanks for the assistance in the fight but Anyway who are you? And what were you doing all alone?"
"You're welcome, but perhaps it is I who should be thanking you and your comrades for the aid in battle?"the elvess replies in fair recognition of the odds of one elf against so many goblinkin amid the hills. She smiles and explains "I am Enwynn Of The Forest, a seeker of knowledge and plants that aid healing. I admit that I am not entirely alone out here in the hills." as she looks up to the skies, where a black-winged observer slowly circles down again towards her.
"By the way Corwyn moves through the air, it seems that the goblins who fled did not run to fetch a larger group lying in wait nearby..." Enwynn says, looking back to the now calm warrior "So if there are more of them to answer to, they are not close enough to be of concern for some time."
"If they have been eating those..." Enwynn says with a meaningful glance at the dried mushrooms "...They may have difficulty in remembering things in general." but suggests in fairness to the intelligence of goblins and their ilk "But reading apparently isn't one of those things, or writing an important word down would be pointless to them. I do not think their former commander would be a man to tolerate any failure of memory lightly either, as the Dires of the Black Tower are not known for their patience or kindness."
"Thank you, and I am grateful to you for your timely aid." she hastens to add "I am Enwynn Of The Forest, and sadly I do not know your name, or those of your comrades to thank you all properly for it. I would be happy to have more comrades than one cheeky crow to travel to Chalice in safety with, but I would like to know who it is that I travel with."
The elf woman seems pensive as the crow alights on her shoulder, then asks with a smile "And more importantly, do you have any cheese?"
Zeltheris gives the newcomer a bow and grin, "I am the humble bard Zeltheris, here to chronicle the exploits of these heroes as they journey through the land."
Garet gives a nod of the head, "Garet Jade formerly of Port Blacksand and the twelve seas, currently Gentleman of the road who luckily encountered the heroes of Chalice and had a minor part in taking down a Demon in a ruined Dwarven stronghold."
"In all the excitement of the goblin fight I'm not sure if I introduced myself, so at the risk of being redundant, my name is Banzo and I am a tortle War Wizard."

— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Enwynn replies "Your tribe is blessed with a most formidable patron, Herman, and thank you." as the crow on her shoulder looks sideways at the warrior, then sits up a little straighter and caws in apparent approval.
Her response to Zelthris is a gently spoken "Yours is not a humble talent then, Zelthris. Chronicling the deeds of heroes is a worthy pursuit, so I am glad to meet you, and your comrades."
She inclines her head in equal measure to Aramis as she offers in elvish "I thank you for your earlier kindness in greeting a wanderer far from home in a familiar language." then turns at the movent of the unusual being before her, not quite sure how to respond politely to Shalana's full circle spin in greeting, but simply bows in the respect given to an elder person.
"There is nothing small about bringing down a demon, Garet." she says in a startled but heartfelt reply to his introduction, then asks "In an abandoned dwarven stronghold?" but stops herself from following that sparked curiosity with a torrent of questions for the moment as the friendly Tortle speaks up again.
There is a happy smile on her face as Enwynn replies "I am glad to meet you again in less fraught circumstances, Banzo, and grateful for your earlier support in battle. May your shell never chip."
The crow caws again and the elf laughs then hastens to explain "And the elegant gentleman on my shoulder is Corwyn, freelance scout and cheese fancier."
The smile wavers a little as Blade Captain Orc Cleaver offers an opinion on the scraps of paper, but instead of shrinking back, she considers his name, then suggests quietly to Banzo "Helpfulness is an admirable trait in an enemy, and rewarded, even if given as a captive..."
She breaks off as she struggles to find the words for an unusually bold idea, then settles on"Caravan guard is a better career than being a bandit, even for a goblin."
Shalana beings to tweak its circuitry with a small device until his eyes begin to glow brighter again.
"Blessed is the Ascended One, for the One has led Shalana's..." the tin can spins to look at the others, "organic companions..." the antique spins back around but Shalana sparks again, its voice seems to have fried itself again.

"Well, I'm not sure until everyone weights in but there's a chance we could put in a word as the 'Heroes of Chalice' when we get to Chalice and maybe find you a better job as payment for all your helpful information."
Banzo offers Blade Captain Jar Orc-Cleaver.
Turning to the rest of the group, new members and old, "What do you all think?"

Surely if no one will stop him, it will not end well for the goblin captain
Zeltheris steps in front of Herman, “Attacking those who’ve already surrendered and are bound is not very heroic. Striking him down now only proves his words. I, for one, am willing to give them a chance to prove their worth.”

The barbarian, satisfied with the answer, looks the beautiful elf up and down, nods and says briefly:
"I am Herman, from the Wolf tribe, I like you and I like your crown, please join us"
Zeltheris gives the newcomer a bow and grin, "I am the humble bard Zeltheris, here to chronicle the exploits of these heroes as they journey through the land."
"Aramis of the Twelve Seas, at your service." A slow incline of the chin.
Shalana turns on the spot and short circuits, a small spark flying out from within the decaying mechanical heart.

( Its a fairly straight shot back toward Chalice from here. I can do a fast travel back as long as the encounter rolls go your way.....)

Thinking the beautiful elf does not know about the gold they are carrying, Herman disagrees:
" Enwyn, you proved a worthy comrade but this goblin?! It is the filth of the land and I don't trust them, they are almost useless even as slaves."
Blade Captain Jar Orc-Cleaver laughed out loud, " I'd listen to him. Judging from the smell he's an expert on filth."
" I'd probably stay on his good side if he's a slaver. Even us filth don't do that shit."
He looked over towards Zeltheris, " Any more background you need for the song? Kuy can play the pan-pipes if you need an accompaniment."
He chuckled again, " Caravan guards.......we'll I've done similar before....during the war. "
