"Ascend, Shalana, ascend..."
He removes his hood and burns some piece of cloth (a barbarian sacred mean to say farewell)
After the troglodytes disappear, he looks at item Ian just collected
" I can make a great show of strength with this potion, unless it will burn my belly...wait, there is a giant nail inside it...sod it, I will take the risk"
And grab it, without using the gentle habit of asking
"You spell casters better check if any of this is magic..."
Banzo will ritual cast Detect Magic and check all of the items one at a time so that any magical essence from one item will not mask one from the other.
Black velvet mask stitched with silver thread Cloth-of-gold vestments Copper chalice with silver filigree Pair of engraved bone dice Silver ewer Small gold bracelet Small mirror set in a painted wooden frame
And of course the two potions. (which we already know)
"Most of these are valuable but only these are magical."
Banzo reveals which items are magical in nature.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Tzedaka thinks about her friend being carried by the little fellowship. She worries that in the world as it is right now, they will be bullied. Many may die to find their people a new home. She wonders if Elspith or the dwarven king will show kindness to them. If not, she may have some work to do once they finish with Zagor. But....that is only the beginning of her purpose until...
Almost absent-mindedly and without looking at anyone in particular
"Some of de cheroes expended a lot of der power. De bench may halp you recover before we go on. You vil need all your strength to fight Zagor. Save de potion."

"These two potions are magical and the sword... the string, not so much."
Banzo holds out the ball of string.
"Anybody want this or should I just carry it for now? It could prove useful?"

The door leads into a tunnel which has been roughly cut into the mountain after some time it widens out, until you find yourself in a large black sand-covered cavern through which a river flows. On the nearside bank of the river a few stumps of wood sticking out of the water look Like the remains of a bridge. The river is quite wide and you can't make out the far side in the the torchlight.
Darkvision-
The river seems to be about 50' across and some buildings lie on the far bank,
To the left, an old cracked bell hangs from a post. A sign is nailed to the post but it is too faded to read anything except the word 'Ferry'. The river is fast-flowing and looks deep and dark.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Who was it that was saying something about a 'Ferry Man' or 'paying the ferryman' or something like that?"
Banzo will look at the old cracked bell trying to determine if it would still be capable of making a gong sound if it was rung?
Investigation: 8

"mhhh, if the ferryman payment will be too high, I remember I have seen our friend Tannin flying...maybe he can bring us to the other side...and I have a potion of flying.
Anyway, let's wait and see, two words with this ferryman cann't be that bad..."

A minute or so later there is the sound of disturbed water and a withered old man in a long wooden boat approaches the riverbank. He looks you all up and down and then shrugs.
"Jump in", he says gruffly, 'Two Gold Zagors to cross, pa'yment in advance."

Ian presents the items for the group treasury.

Tzedaka waits patiently for the heroes to sort out their treasure, standing at the doorway, ready to move toward the river and bell.
Ian moves forward

Banzo follows Ian.
Leigh follows
"River then"
Herman follows

“My dead friend, Yannik Quick-eye told us to pay de ferry man.” (Ooc: a skeleton we questioned at entrance to mountain)
Tzedaka pulls herself out of her self reflection.
“ring bell, den man wid wings, ferry man, comes or Zagor hears and comes width Trools. I am ready!”
It looks like it would make a sound....not a particularly great sound mind you....
Banzo rings the cracked bell.
Herman waits impatiently
