"Well, technically it is haunted," He says, "And I shouldn't be saying this, but they know it's haunted. They've let it stay haunted for years. I bought this tavern because of it's haunted, but couldn't communicate with the spirit."

"See it?" He says, chuckling, "No, it's some invisible creature. It didn't make itself seen unto me, it would just throw my belongings around, smashed a bottle of fine brandy I had. Once it wrote a message of blood on a wall upstairs."

Hecate listens intently to Volo’s every word. “Very interesting...” She mutters to herself, clutching the shard of amthyst hanging from her scaly neck.
Fen excitedly says ”I’m with our new Dragonborn friend here, I think we should check this haunting business out" before realising that he has jumped the gun and made a number of assumptions.
Fen turns to the group and says "Apologies, in my excitement at meeting Volo, I’ve been very presumptuous. I don’t know if any of you are adventurers, let alone if you are adventurers who would like to work together or work with me, or whether you are all already busy. I am just such a big fan of Volo and it just seems like such a good opportunity, looking into one of Volo’s unfinished adventures, that I got ahead of myself."
Rinzak inhales deeply through his nose, shaking his head softly as he sighs "Incorporeal creatures are not exactly a great start towards my studies but I suppose it shall do."
The Githzerai's eye twitches softly as he says "My query has remained unanswered....however besides that not from me." Currently both literally and figuratively looking down on Volo.
Ventheris will look around at the others, “Are we being asked to ghost watch? Do the owners want us to get rid of it or something? It sounds like all he’s done is tell us there used to be one here and you’re acting like he’s given you some great quest.”
Fen responds "I’ve never encountered a ghost or undead before, so this is pretty exciting for me. All I’ve come across are bandits, wolves and a single goblin on the road between here and Baldur’s Gate, and I’ve mostly been able to avoid those. I was in the Gate when stuff went down here and here when stuff went down in the Gate. I did once join a party and we were hired to kill rats in a tavern basement, but apart from that, most adventures I have been on have been in my head... often after reading one of Volo’s fine works."
Ventheris will hold up his hands, “I’m not saying we can’t do this, but so far he hasn’t asked us to, and even if he did, he doesn’t own the place.” Looking at the bartender, ”Are you one of the owners? What do you think about this?”
Erdan slowly looks up at Ventheris, "I am the owner. What was the other part of your question?" (He wasn't paying attention to what you were all talking about, he was busy with other things.)

Fen asks "which room and what did the message say?"
"Uhh," He says, scratching his chin, "I'm not sure. The building has changed much in the past few years. It said something like 'Get out!'"
