Alhorn nods in understanding. "I understand, you must be in a delicate position. One that I must admit, I would not have expected. Forgive my prying and ignorance, but they must have offered you something valuable for your assistance. In my homelands, they tell that giants hate the dragons. Is it all just tall tales, or perhaps you are set apart from other giants?"
Ulric will stand near Alhorn on the floor letting him lead the discussion.
Meta: I'm still new to D&D so I don't know but that feels like a good question. I would think our characters would know with an appropriate history or knowledge check?
The giant laughs, clearly amused. "No, the cultists of the dragon have offered me very little." He says as he smiles broadly. He looks over the group of you with a raised eyebrow. "If you little folk want to fight the cult of the dragon, then I have a camp I can take you to." He gives a wink to all of you. "Us giants haven't had a good fight in some time, what better than a group of dragons, all gathered together, to get all of us giants to join together again." He shrugs as he settles back into his seat. "If you want to fight alongside us giants, then I can take you to our camp once we drop off the treasure."
... i think we're being lied to. This guy is so shmoozy.
"That seems like something best avoided by a mere merchant like myself. But I am intrigued. Could I see the treasure they hope to offer? How long is this trip likely to take, anyway?"
Naroth continues to listen to the conversation back and forth between Alhorn and the giant, trying to piece together any lies or half-truths that the giant is saying.
(OOC) I would think Ulric, being a cleric and also a hunter of this cult would have some knowledge of this. Would I need to roll to check how extensive it is?
Naroth realizes the giant is being very truthful. He seems to have no love at all for the Cult of the Dragon, and naroth gets the sense the giant feels very strongly about Giants gathering together again. Thinking a bit from the giant's perspective, Naroth realizes that a huge threat, like a group of dragons gathering for war, would galvanize giants into working together, and would help the giants reclaim some of their old unity. Naroth feels quite strongly that the only real reason this giant is helping the cult is to put the dragons in a position the giants would be forced to join together again, just to be able to oppose such a threat as the dragon's would present.
OOC: oofff, still can't get a decent roll. I get the impression we are best positioned staying along for the ride to help the giants. Unless we want to sneak off when the cult gets off.
You seem to have not payed a lot of attention to the discussions around the gods of dragons. You do know that Tiamat is an evil one. Even with your limited knowledge of Tiamat, you do know that her return to the material world,as it seems is the plan of the cult, would be very very bad.
Naroth reaches up to tap the shoe of Alhorn, "If it pleases you sir, I think we should accept the hospitality of these great ones and travel with them." Then subtlety nods his head hoping he gives off the impression that we can trust this giant for now.

The giant shrugs as he looks to Alhorn. "Our destination is some days away still." He narrows his eyes and sighs when Alhorn mentions seeing the treasure. "The cult has one of their ice dragons, a white, guarding the treasure." The giant informs you. "I would not suggest going anywhere near that treasure, as I cannot vouch for your safety where the dragon is concerned."
Alhorn nods, and is lost in thought as he tries to solve this problem.
"May we wander other parts of your home? I have never been to a place such as this, and I find it extraordinary. I'd like to be able to tell the people back home exactly how wondrous it is."
"Have always wanted to see a white dragon, never seen one before. If one was to go take a look and, shall we say, things happened, dragons can be rather cranky. What would your response be?" Naroth asks the giant.
Ulric looks at Naroth, "it might be best for us to avoid the dragon. While it might be a chance to learn, it's probably not the time for it. We don't know if we'd get any protection from our host."
The cloud giant shrugs to Naroth and nods to Alhorn. "You may move freely around my home." He says in his deep voice. "I only warn you that the dragon might not be friendly, but I will not stop you from doing as you will there." He gives an amused chuckle. "If you do end up fighting the white, then there might very well be one less dragon to cause troubles in the world." He lifts a cautioning hand though. "Remember though, there are a number of dragon cultists here, so be careful who you end up fighting with, as I do not know if you can manage to take on a dragon and the cult at the same time or not."
