OOC: I realized that right after posting it. Plus you didn't get it as bad as i did on A blight upon the land.
You can tell, she despises the Tarrenclaws. What you saw last night confirms that the bandits come to The Amber Frog frequently, and you did notice the bandits got thier food and drink without paying and payed little respect to her property.

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."
Artin thinks to himself. It sounds like she's using colorful language, but nothing fishy is going on. If these people really are giving her trouble, then the right thing to do would be to help. In fact, I'd better tag along to make sure nobody gets killed. The way that Ira toyed with them, he could easily kill them, and might take her request literally. I'll just go along to make sure everything is set straight, and then go straight home. Plus, that tiefling Boo is liable to eat them or something
Artin heads out of the tavern to find Ira and Boo.
Hey there! Good morning! Remember me? Want I should tag along?
Artin looks up at the elf and tiefling, helpfully.
(Oops, there's something i forgot to include earlier, when Ellie was talking about the Tarrenclaw's treasure stash, she asks you to bring her 50 gp from it to fix the floor.)

Adventure? Oh my an adventure. I haven't been on one of those in years. I'm a bit rusty at this, but ... let's see. HEEEYAH!
Artin twirls his walking staff in a thoroughly unimpressive circle, nearly dropping it.
Aaaand, hyuh!
Artin thrusts the staff in Boo's general direction in an attempt at conveying danger. He overshoots with this arms, and stumbles, off balance. Already out of breath, he looks down at his padded clothing.
Anyways, like that. It's all about using their size against them. And oh yes, my, I nearly forgot.
Artin looks at his light padded armor.
I don't really adventure anymore, but I do have my old gear from back in the day! You never know when you'll need it.
Artin pulls out an extremely dinged up and poorly maintained breastplate. It looks like it's been sitting in the blacksmith's discard heap for a year. The buckles are half broken, the leather stiff and cracked.
Artin huffs and puffs as he tries to fit it around his gut. It's like stuffing a marshmallow into a thimble. One part of flesh goes in, just to poke around the other side.
I don't... it must have shrunk somehow over the years. I don't remember it being this ... mmmf ... tight
Ira and Boo can tell that the breastplate is simply not going to get around that gut, even with a Half-Orc's help. Artin continues to struggle with the breastplate.
"So these bandits..." After swigging a glass of wine and then drinking from the bottle at the bar. "how many are we talking here?" And takes a puff of smoke from her pipe. "I like the idea personally, its been awhile since I've drawn blood..." Somewhat talking to herself.
Artin yelps at the feeling of the dagger on his exposed skin. Frustrated, he puts down the breastplate.
I just didn't think steel could shrink. I don't understand... In my heyday, I'm sure I wouldn't need any armor at all really. You saw what I can do with my staff. But I'm just a teeny wee bit rusty, and I really should get this thing to fit. Let me see if one of the local smiths can unshrink this breastplate. I'll be right back!
Artin trots off down the the street, in search of the nearest blacksmith
(OOC I know there are two smiths in town, but the PC isn't really planning ahead here, and just walks in the door of whichever he sees first, Calathid's or Belarth's, or even the Armory)
You know Belarth's is really close but Belarth doesn't really like visitors, you think it would be a better to find Calathid's. After a few minutes of trotting around Ambermoor, you come upon Calathid's smithy and ask him if you can get the plate fixed. He says he can get longer straps and fix up the dings for a price of 10 gp.

(I should probably explain to you a bit about the surrounding region of Ambermoor, to the west of ambermoor is a small woods, the Tarrenclaw's hideout is located in those woods. Surrounding the rest of ambermoor are moors that have an amber tinge to them, hence the name Ambermoor.)

10 gp? For a few straps? Now, I know you drive a hard bargain here, but we're helping the town you see -- we're helping Ambermoor herself, and her customers, which are, by the way, your customers too! These bandits you have, causing trouble, taking gold..
Now I can't afford such a steep price, and you and I both know that you're charging high, and I could counter low.. but we'd be here all day.
Artin leans in with a crafty look on his face, clearly enjoying the negotiation, but doing so in a way that you can't help but laugh with him.
This would really be a bill for Mr. Shieldcaster, wouldn't it? I'm sure he'd be willing to pay... full price?
True. Iradari believes this may be connected to the corruption in the land...

Well, when Inviah and Zaigreia arrive, we can head off. Iradari says.

(Ok, now I'm off to bed)
Well perhaps to a degree, but my main contribution to my .... huuuuuuffff... party was my combat ... umff... prowess
Could you just tighten that bit for me, there?
