Luck is on your side as you progress through the areas you’ve been already, all the way to the Kobold area. Along the way, You notice some translucent slimy patches that weren’t there before, but whatever made them are thankfully not around anymore. You carefully sidestep the sigil in the hallway and You come to the room where you met Meepo but the door is locked tight and you hear some yips coming from the other side. If you try to open it you find out it is locked (seems barred from the other side) and the yips grow silent.....
Ithelion smiles, "Wise fellow" she says, then, more loudly, "Ticklecorn!"
To Shere she adds, "We are trying to explore somewhat methodically -- there are many doors behind us that we have not opened -- and there is a magically sealed door that we have yet to pass through...that is where we are headed."
You here some scuffling behind the door and the sounds of something heavy moving from the door, along with a good amount of cursing and “Get way! Get way!”and “Meepo knows!” And “Meepo tell you so!” The door opens and there is your stalwart kobold dragon trainer Meepo standing before you. “Meepo know you come back, can smell bait from far away!” He gives Daemyar a wink. “So you back where you go? Need help? Is that mouse catcher? You tell him 'bout rats? Meepo think he going to love it here? Ooh new crossbow thing very nice!”
Ithelion laughs out loud, "It is good to see you again Meepo!" Gods, I think that is even true.
"You are as wise as your are handsome!. And yes! The Bait have a new...ratcatcher" she winks at Shere. "Shere, meet Meepo -- he is our official contact and liason with Queen Yusdrayal."
"We are going back near where we were last time...there are places we wish to explore."
He gives a curt bow "Pleasurrer to make yourrr acquaintance"
"I used to catch large lizarrrds when I was a child in Chult, (Senor or Senora?) Meepo, but never, rrodents The drragon lizarrds they werre good frrricasseed" He gives a slight smile
Meepo bows to Shere and pretends to know what she's talking about, "Meepo come from dragon, he best dragon trainer! I guess you help catch Calcryx too? You must be big brave too. You need go back to scary parts now? Or need anything - Meepo can get for you. Kobold people like shiny things - or any things to trade."
Meepo can guide you back to the entry if you like.
Meepo does so and gives you a salute. He looks at you questioningly but resigns himself to standing guard over your door. “Meepo wish good luck for you! Bye Bait!”
As you and Ithelion walk towards the door, the air gets noticeably colder - frigid, even - enough to make your breath visible. If you touch the door, you note that it is icy cold. The door has carved depictions of skeletal dragons entwined with each other. You don't notice any traps on the door but both of you can see an inscription on the door. Daemyar, you are not aware of what it is but Ithelion, you can read this. It is also written in Draconic. It says, "Rebuke the dead, open the way."
The last time you were here, Daemyar inspected the door but found no locking mechanism, nor did you try to simply open the door at any point. [just fyi on last time you were here]
Garnet I'd happy to see Meepo still alive and well, she will with small easy to understand words tell Meepo to watch for other people coming behind the group. If they come they are not friends don't attack them but do not trust them. Garnet is a little concerned about the Mayor's bounty on goblin ears, while she knows the Kobolds are not goblin's other bounty hunters or zents may come to collect and she wants the Kobolds to remain as safe as possible. With the parchment that Corkie gave her she will quickly scribble a short message for the queen (Others travelers may follow after us. Beware but do not engage if possible. They could be dangerous.) She will give this to Meepo to take to his queen.
" Stay watchful little warrior!" She will tell Meepo as she leaves with the others.
Once at the door Garnet will ask aloud "Does anyone know a spell to repell undead? Maybe it will open the door."
( I feel like Ithelion used a spell like that at one point? I checked my spells I can sense and damage undead but.. )
@garnet - Meepo takes the piece of paper gingerly and sniffs it, then licks it. He looks ready to eat it but you explain hurriedly what it is before he is able to. He smiles and straightens his back, pride showing on his face. "Meepo not let you down, Lady Rock Brave! I go then come back and keep guard!"
@shere - the door exudes an aura of necromantic magic, and several glows emanate from your new friends.
Ithelion nods to Krom, "I think so...anything that gives is clues as to the nature of this place and the origin of the tree may help us defeat it...or its servant."
At Shere's comment she nods, "Good idea...it might highlight any magical traps...we've seen a few of those already." She glances at Elosa who is currently resting nervously, well away from the door.
While Shere is doing his ritual, Ithelion will do one of her own, summoning an unseen servant to her side. "I'm a little wary of pulling levers now", she says.
Ithelion grimaces, "Well....that's not exactly a surprise, given the inscription. This place is full of corruption of one sort or another". She looks around in distaste and absent-midedly starts dusting off her sleeves. "Shall we?" she asks.
Krom shakes his head and before doing anything to open the door, touches Daemyar's armor praying, "Moradin, let some of yer divine protection guard our comrade Bait fer the battles we face today." Using Blessing of the Forge on his armor. (giving Daemyar a +1 to his AC until the next long rest, or Krom dies.)
Now walking within ten feet of the door, Krom holds out his holy symbol of Moradin and prays, "Moradin, let the mighty heat from yer Great Forge flow and turn the foul magic on this door so that we may pass." Using Turn undead on the door.

Ithelion watches expectantly, hoping the door will open, and hoping undead will not pour out....if it does open, she turns to Shere, "Does your spell reveal anything now?"
As Krom intones the holy words, the door begins to glow. It begins a dull blue but as he moves on it becomes brighter before you hear a "Pop!" and it extinguishes. The door, almost as if it was held open, swings silently inward. Looking through the door to the room beyond you see five big, dusty sarcophagi, three to the north and two to the south, in this silent chamber. The floor is different than you have seen before, with large stylized, coloured marble tiles. Each of the heavy carved stone coffins resembles a noble, elf-like humanoid in ceremonial robes. An altar, with images of dragons carved into its black obsidian, is set in the center of the west wall. A single candle burns brightly on the altar. Next to the candle are a small whistle and a crystal flask.
@ithelion - your unseen pops into being, invisible, after 10 minutes.
@shere - you detect miniscule traces of similar magic in here that you found on the door on the heavy sarcophagi - it's very faint; the candle on the altar emits evocation magic; the crystal flask, abjuration; and the whistle, necromancy.

If he can he moves at least 30 foot away and watches then when the elf asks he approaches and looks with the spell.
