ooc: Make it that door then that the elf is checking but I'll step back and let her do her thing afterwards
(( Oops, sorry, I missed your post; we both check the door, then open from a distance, Ithelion is very happy for Shere to investigate, and will help, or vice verca ))
You don't notice anything. The door opens freely. The passage beyond is an "L" shaped hall that leads to another door. This one is barricaded and locked tightly. If you had to unblock/unlock it, you would need crowbars or some other leverage, and probably about an hour. Blocks and rocks and furniture, slats of wood nailed across the entry - it seems the kobolds weren't the only ones concerned with making it hard to get through this way...
Ithelion grunts, "That way leads to the Kobolds. Let them dig it out if they want. Back to the pit?" she asks the cat. She hurriedly makes more notes for her maps, then leaves the room following Shere (I assume).
Ithelion nods, "Yes. I think so. Here, look..." she shows you a meticulously drawn map that she has been working on. "There is a path that leads from the kobolds to the goblins. It starts here..." she points to an a door north of the queen's room. "Ysdrayl said it was trapped throughout. It's where I feared they might attack from." She examines the map more closely to confirm, and glances at Elosa speculatively, but decides against sending her. "I'd guess that this is the other end of that path. There's nowhere else it could be."
Ithelion looks apologetically at Elosa and nods toward the pit, asking her to move slowly down it, moving cautiously between perches if possible. As Elosa moves to the pit, Ithelion sits in the old throne, and links her senses with her familiar.
No problem. You watch through Elosa's eyes as the owl awkwardly half hops half glides from perch to perch about 20 feet. There isn't much purchase here but there are some overgrown vines and a bit of rubble. It seems to go for a while longer - maybe 50 feet or so. You notice through Elosa's eyes some sort of brown/white growth on the sides of the pit near the bottom. Make a dex check Elosa.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Ithelion - You grit your teeth as Elosa's claws scramble on an outcropping, but her claws slip in the rock causing her to fall away and down for a short bit before she can correct herself; the rock she slipped on breaks away from the wall and falls down into the gloom. It hits the bottom with a resounding thud, which echos up the walls. You watch through Elosa's eyes for a few seconds, eyes trained on the bottom. Then you notice some movement near the bottom. A large insect moves out of the pale structure you saw below. It looks up to the top of and clicks. Immediately, dark clouds burst from the sides of the and fly upwards. The sound reverberates off the sides of the shaft....
@all - you all look to the shaft that Elosa went down as you hear the the thud from within...you are about to walk over to check it out when Elosa bursts from the opening! the first and second of the clouds of wasps breech the opening behind her....

"Ithelion Why is this way blocked? A barrier between warring parties?"
