Ithelion looks reieved, "Thank you" she says, inclining her head slightly.
"We have some preparations to make, but I expect we will leave today or tomorrow. Which leads to one more matter: we encountered a kobold by the name of Seedo; as a dying wish he requested I deliver a note to his brother, one 'Meepo'."
"I have since heard that there are Kobolds near the Citadel, and that your city has had dealings with them. Do you know of one called Meepo? It was unclear which direction the kobold was heading..."
“Well, sometimes we get kobolds coming here to buy items or trying to sell items but it’s nothing regular. Herka’s father actually had dealt with them when he served the family - I recall him saying there was a feud many years ago within the kobolds that lived in the cliffs - several hours walk south from here. Anyways, some of them stayed there, some of them left and sought refuge in the ruins. They’ve been there for many years now. But they don’t come out to Oakhurst much anymore. I don’t know the kobolds of whom you refer, sorry.”She adds, “However, I’d bet that whomever you came across heading this way was likely headed to the ruins.”
Ithelion purses her lips, "Yes, it seems likely ... I wasn't sure which way they were headed. Very well..."
She bows her head, clearly uncomfortable, "Then I am afraid that there is one more piece of ill news that I must bring. The note -- which I was able to read -- warns this 'Meepo' that a kobold named 'Kruk' has taken over -- 'hurting the elders' -- and plans to attack 'the humans' -- I now assume that he means Oakhust -- to get the fruit."
"Given the timing, they probably wont attack for some days, and perhaps we can contact this Meepo to see if he has any means of forestalling the attack. Whatever the case, finding out what Herka knows of the kobolds is likely to be important."
She calls out to the space behind you. Immediately the guard at the door comes in. “Lady?” he asks. “Go fetch Herka from her training and bring her here.” Ros nods and hurries off.
“If true, this would be timely news, and concerning. While they are mostly peaceful and stick to themselves, when they are in large groups, kobolds can be quite the pain - or so I’ve been told.”
It is mere moments before Herka enters the store. After telling her what you had mentioned, a scowl adorns her face. “Kruk? He has taken over? Well, it’s not good but I must make Felosial aware - she will want to know. It isn’t likely that they could overrun her forces but Kruk is also a shaman, young and brash, but could cause trouble if he has persuaded the rest and taken the elders out of the picture. Thank you for this information. Oh, Seedo? Yes, he was one of the elders, though he was also younger than most of them. He has a brother named Meepo who left for the ruins years ago. My father and Seedo got along well - I remember my father speaking of him with fondness. ‘Great Dragon’ he used to call him. He deserved a better end. She hands you back the letter.”
[She makes ready to leave - do you have anything more you’d like to ask her?]
Ithelion listens intently, then says "Thank you. Can you tell me any more of Meepo...and how we might safely find him? He may know more of the happenings in the ruins"
No problem. The cost is 10gp with her discount. Anything else? It’s still quite early in the day and from what you’ve found out it will take a couple hours to walk to where the ruins are.
(OOC: Krom won't eat his own beard... just the leftover crumbs that are in it, lol. Work has just been super busy for me this past week/weekend and I didn't wan't y'all to be waiting on me for talking posts.)

[We'll wait to see if Garnet wants to do anything else in town. . The general location is known and - I can't remember exactly - but I believe Corkie told Garnet as well. Either way, it's not a huge secret where the ruins are located and we can assume that you've been directed towards them by Herka or someone else].
( I'm good with marching order and to be honest I can't think of what else to do in town. Unless we need supplies? And yes Garnet would want blessings of the forge.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The day is sweltering hot, even early in the morning, as the early sunrise of the waning days of summer heats the land. Humidity is high and there is also the promise of rain in the air. You find the Old Road out of town easy enough, heading north from the town. The road is in obvious disrepair and is overgrown with vines and brambles, as it winds through rocky downs and old growth oak trees. On the way, you notice 4 broken down and abandoned shacks. You are the only ones on the road, other than the animals that scurry out of your way. To either side of you, thick forest looms but looking to the west, you see an area upon a sloping hill that is bare and black and looks like a large depression. It is a very large area. It looks like a bald spot on an otherwise hairy head.
After a time, a light rain begins to fall (as promised) and a great chasm opens up before you. and the road veers to the east to follow it. At the road's closest approach to the chasm, several broken pillars jut from the the earth where the ravine widens and opens into something more akin to a deep but narrow canyon. Two of the pillars still stand strong and upright, but most of the lean against the sloped earth. Several are broken and others seem to have fallen into the darkness-shrouded depths. Looking across, you see a few familiar pillars on the opposite side of the ravine.
Ithelion looks reieved, "Thank you" she says, inclining her head slightly.

Krom idly glances around the room with one hand tugging at his beard while he listens to Ithelion, Kerowyn, and Herka talk.

Herka shrugs, "I assume Meepo is in the ruins - he certainly wasn't in the cliff encampment with his brother. More than that, I do not know, sorry."

Assuming we know the direction to the ruins, we head out. Similar marching order tobefore?:
Daemyar
Krom + Ithelion (Elosa Circling + perching)
Garnet
(I'm good with that marching order. Does anyone want the Blessing of the Forge done on a piece of their equipment before heading out?)

(I think Garnet’s weapon is probably the best idea for that)
