Ithelion smiles at Daemyar, "You are right! They can be rotated. Doing so might unlock or open something...we should look for more markings or other clues, or....perhaps...the colours..."
She looks around the room, trying to determine if the chromatic dragons currently face the wall tiles matching their colour.

She looks around the room, trying to determine if the chromatic dragons currently face the wall tiles matching their colour.
Ithelion nods, excited to have a puzzle and the possibility she might discover some of the mysteries of this place. "It's worth a try!" Noone has seen her quite like this before; her usual caution seems to have evaporated.
She points at the dragon nearest the door from which they entered, and makes sure it does not point to its own colour. "We should do this one last! Now quickly...rotate the others to face the correct colour!"
She hurries to another dragon but realizes she can't see well enough, then lets out an annoyed curse and returns to Krom, asking to borrow the light -- or for him to move into the room -- so that she can see the colours properly. Once light is available, she starts to rotate the dragons. If all goes well, she suggests everyone move back to the door before she rotates the final dragon...
Years of habit are not entirely forgotten, especially when prompted by Daemyar's dubious expression and Shere's warning, and Ithelion makes quick notes of the initial position of each dragon before turning them...
Ithelion pauses and look at the Dwarf, "Let's face it, Krom, coming to Oakhurst was a bad idea. But if not us, then who?"
As she walks around the plinths, she also tries to assess the size and shape of the things that used to rest on them, based on the dust pattern, again adding this to her notes.
The pedestals grind into position and when all is nearly done, @Ithelion beseeches the group to stand back as she moves the last one into place. It clicks into resting position. So arranged, you observe that all the dragons face the middle, larger red dragon pedestal as their line of sight to their unique colour puts their gaze through the red pedestal. Configured thusly, the dragons sit and wait...
@Shere & @Krom - as Ithelion moves them into place, both of you notice some shimmering on the wall that the red dragon faces....it looks like writing, though you cannot make out what it says...
@The rest of you, roll a perception to see if you can see anything (humanoids only). also, please roll a d100.
@Ithelion - you don't make anything out of the dust patterns...clearly there used to be things on the trays before they were taken off but there isn't enough evidence to ascertain what exactly.
Shere sees the writing he thinks for a second then messages the elf "Look at the wall the rred drragon is facing. Maybe you can read it or maybe a spell could"
Ithelion, Shere, Daemyar - between the three of you you come to realize something is missing in the sequence. Shere, you’re pretty certain the pedestals are the way they are supposed to be, and Ithelion, you would guess there is some sort of code word or action that is still needed....
(( Now that it's been pointed out, can Ithelion read the writing? If reading it is what has led her to her conclusion, then: ))
Looking at the writing on the wall, then back at the Dragon, only one word comes to mind. Ithelion makes sure everyone is standing clear before speaking.

Currently, they do not.

Garnet sees what Ithelion is up to, assists, and then moves back to the door when directed. She watches for any effects, curious to see what happens.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Daemyar considers the trays’ meanings as Ithelion moves the pedestals. There’s offering or worship or tradition etc here, it has the vibe.
Religion? History? Same mod 3
Daemyar finds he knows very little about much beyond his own life.
Paladin - warforged - orange
Shere looks at this puzzle "Be careful this may be a trap" but he wonders at the puzzle
