Ithelion nods to Garnet at the mention of the mountains, "That seems likely, yes. Do you know of them? There's another mention of Durgeddin the Black as well, I think -- don't tell that awful gnome." she says, grinning. "I should be able to read the other words when we next rest."
"The scholar in me wants to return to Oakhurst and study what we have found, but we swore to perform another task..."

With your Comprehend Languages still up, you can read Gnomish. It doesn't offer any insight either way, seems like there might be a code of sorts....it seems to be gibberish although you can read it via the spell, you can't make sense of it...
Frowning at her inability to understand what seems like a gnomish code, she ponders the annoying and secretive gnome. "I will try to make sense of it, but we may yet need Erky it seems." Perhaps we just got off on the wrong foot.
“We’re running short on time until the next fruit is ripe. But these may be useful boons. Rather than head to the surface, perhaps we take a bit of time to familiarize ourselves with these… treasures.”
Daemyar examines the dagger (we can identify on short rest, if I recall)
Sure. You can take at least an hour of rest to identify the items. Daemyar, the dagger you come to know, is called Ashardalon's Tooth (Ixen Oth). (You know everything at the link)
Other items, I am assuming you look/taste them all:
During that hour rest Krom will find a spot to sit and will channel divinity to use Artisan's Blessing and turn his warhammer into a battleaxe.
No problem. You spend an hour on that and and hour on an item. 2 hours total. [edit no need for extra hour we’ll just say someone sipped the vial] Tell Ithelion what metal you are using, unless you simply want to use the warhammer (which is 15 gp, more than enough material for a battle axe via A’s Blessing). At the end of the ritual, you swing the battle axe with your hand, testing the weight and balance - it’s a beauty, if you do say so yourself!
Ithelion considers Daemyar’s question for a few moments, “I think it is the nature of such places to attract all sorts of things, both good and evil. The raw power is like a magnet to some, the history draws others, the promise of ancient artefacts draws others. Some stay, some pass on, and some, like Belak, become part of the next cycle of history of the place. But all are changed by it.”
“Adathar called it a once proud citadel from another era. There are layers of history here that it would take decades to comprehend,” she looks around at the room wistfully, “But such things are no longer for me. I, too, have been changed by this place.”
After making sure that the various items are distributed and well stowed, she shoulders her pack and, with one last glance at the room, as if it represents an entire life she now accepts that she will never return to, “It’s time to move on” she says quietly.
Shere looks at the room with the Dragon memorial he hisses "Seems every evil creature needs a lair to hide its foul deeds, fallen civilizations seem the best. I am sure we'll find out what was instore for those who came before us, just remember what my troupe leader once said."He does his best imitation of an older cat."We make our own fate, its the world and creation that tries to tug us away from that path. Don't let it."
Garnet agrees, "I've never seen such as this. We must not let this place and the allure of power change us, my friends. Let this place be a monument to that fact. I must bend like a reed in the wind, and let the lure of such things wash over me, leaving me unchanged." She takes a last look, then walks behind Shere, following Ithelion.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Alright. You come to the rift once more. You can head back across to the hall you came from originally. You could go left and follow the rift towards the orange glow. Or you can go right and follow the rift in the other direction.
Ithelion nods to Garnet at the mention of the mountains, "That seems likely, yes. Do you know of them? There's another mention of Durgeddin the Black as well, I think -- don't tell that awful gnome." she says, grinning. "I should be able to read the other words when we next rest."

Krom snuffs the light on his ring out, "Ye can worry about that stuff later. We still got a job to be doin' here."

Yeah a bit pricey right now and you haven’t had a ton of opportunity yet. Noted.

Garnet as well walks around the room, looking for tracks in the floor, suggestions of where there could be a secret door.
