Ah, says the Crownsguard to Alton, ignoring Balassar entirely. Yes, well, the guards themselves are in the infirmary. I don't think they've woken up yet, much to Mistress Emberwind's displeasure. Come, you can take a look at the scene of the crime, so to speak, and meet her at the same time.
He says nothing more, but leads you away from the gate towards the smoke. As you approach, you see a ten-foot-wide hole edged with twisted steel and jagged rock above a pile of rubble. Beyond the hole is a badly damaged stone prison cell, little more than soot-stained walls and an overturned bed charred on one side. A thin skylight above the hole matches others alongside it in the steel wall, and was apparently the cell’s window. A mangled chamber pot is embedded in the right wall, where a elf in a long leather coat is pulling it from the stone. She pockets three charred pieces of paper from the brass pot before turning and acknowledging your presence as you step through the hole and into the tiny cell.
Alton holds out his hand to Emberwind, "I'm Alton and this big fellow I call Scales, only because he hasn't told me his real name yet. We were both hired by the Watchmaster, along with two others, to help with the investigation on the break out. Is there anything you could tell us about this Sken Zabriss person? Also, Scales here fought Sken and held his own pretty well against them, it was a really good fight. I watched the whole thing and could tell you all about it." Without an affirmative answer of whether or not Emberwind wants to hear about the fight between Balassar and Sken. Alton jumps into a story of the fight, adding in some slight exaggerations and storyteller embellishments in Balassar's favor.

Yinra Emberwind, the elf responds pleasantly. And I've just completed my investigation here, so don't worry, you won't get in my way.
She interrupts Alton's story: Oh, I'm sure you did very well for a bunch of novices against the big scary goliath. Now I have to go and capture her - I don't want to interrupt your 'fun', but some of us are professionals and have actual work to do. Don't be too disheartened, though - I'm sure you will find other work in the future.
She gives a bow, and departs, leaving you alone in the room as the guard has opted to remain outside the hole. Let me know when you're done, he calls through.
Cala follows behind the two men quietly, hands folded in front of her. "Wait!" she calls to Yinra. "Is there anything you can tell us about the woman that escaped?" she asks, not seeming to notice the distaste she is getting from the elven woman. "Or about the people who helped her? Is she part of any groups? Or a gang or something?"
Cala, you see Yinra laugh, give you a mock salute, and gesture towards the empty prison cell. And then she turns and walks away, still laughing.
You stand in the prison cell, an elf's laughter echoing slightly as it fades.

Cala frowns at the response, turning back towards the cell and following her companions inside to investigate. She looks for any markings or symbols that might have been left behind by the person they are after. Is there anything that looks religious, or perhaps like a gang symbol? Any marking she might recognize from her studies.
Cala, as you look around the room for markings and symbols, you don't see any. There's nothing that looks religious or like a gang symbol you have studied. You do notice that the explosion appears to have come from inside the room, with most of the stone and steel of the wall having been blown outside from the inside. Within, there only really remains a small pile of rubble and the partially-destroyed bed.
Alton looks up sheepishly at Balassar, "I tried to make you sound cool and tough, but I guess she didn't buy it. I'm sorry." A little downhearted from not having someone impressed with his retelling of the fight, he finds a small corner that is out of the way and sits down letting the others do the actual investigating. Alton's eyes just scan around the area looking for anything interesting that might take his mind off of being dismissed.
Alton, you see much the same as Cala has - the bed and the pile of rubble, which you think might bear some further investigation. You don't notice anything else that catches your eye.

Balassar will just begin to look around the explosion for tracks that may lead up to the wall and away from it. It was clear his new companions were better about talking with people.
Balassar, you don't see any evidence of tracks, but it seems likely that the escapee fled almost immediately after the explosion, and the dust settled on the ground later.
As you are investigating, the interior door of the prison cell opens, and a gnome prison guard looks through. The guard standing outside pokes his head through the hole in the wall and addresses the prison guard: They're working for the Watchmaster. The prison guard nods, and remains where he is, watching you all investigate.
Sad that she hasn't found anything, Cala leaves the prison cell and steps outside. She does not like the darkness of the cell, the trapped way it makes her feel even with a hole on the wall.
Alton will follow Cala out of the prison cell and look to the guards the led them over there, "Where did you say the injured patrol guards were. We know a doctor that could take a look at them and maybe help speed up their recovery."

Alton rubs the back of his head, giving his topknot a tug, "Well, I don't know if he is a healer, but he calls himself a doctor. His name is Wash and he went off somewhere when we all left the tavern. He should be back soon though, I hope."

Wash tries to learn how to whistle on the way back to the team., a skill he never picked up when he was younger.

(Pretty good whistling :) Wash will rejoin the group as they are leaving the prison - not too long I hope!)

Alton, the Crownsguard shrugs. Speak to him, he says, indicating the prison guard who is still inside the room but is visible through the large hole.
The prison guard is close enough to hear your words. He looks uncertain. They're resting, but... one of you is a healer, he asks?

[Insert this whenever DM thinks Wash would reasonably be back]:
Wash walks up to the front of the prison whistling, looking very pleased that he has taught himself how to whistle.
