Wash says to Balassar "are you sure about going into that room?" He is going to summon his mage hand and have follow along near Balassar's healer's kit, just in case.

Alton is going to take a peak down the other path next to them. If he sees a sign of light down there he will sneak is way down, after letting Wash know where he is going, to check it out. If there isn't a light down there, he will just hang out close to Wash and wait for Balassar to take the lead.
Alton, you head quietly down the nearby passage, and peek into a new area. Three long tables occupy the center of this square cavern, a lantern dangling above them. The walls are adorned with hooks and loops that hold digging tools and basic weapons in a disorganized fashion. A large chest is set beneath one table, and a door stands closed to the north. There's a pile of soiled tools and weapons on the table, but there seems to be no-one in the room.
Balassar, you find four daggers, five shortswords, three spears, and three crossbows with forty bolts each. They are in decent condition, and you think you would be able to sell them in town. You can also roll an Investigation check, with advantage if Wash or Alton are helping.
Wash will definitely helpsearch and if Balassar starts to look over-encumbered with all those weapons will take some (though he knows from adventuring with him so far that Balassar is very strong).
Alton, the chest is unlocked; inside it you find a set of studded leather, a shortsword and a longbow, as well as a few smaller items - a knife, a bedroll and a mess kit with plate and fork.
After Balassar and Alton collect the weapons and armour, Wash suggests "Should we go around and check if there is anything back where the crossbow was on the pedestal? [pointing to the east] I think we should try and clear out the open spaces before opening any doors... or going through rooms with metal floors."
Alton looks at the items he found in the chest and brings them over to Wash, "Hey Wash, do you want any of these? I don't really need them." He looks over at the door in the room. "I think we should check out that door first, since we are here. No sense in back tracking, right?" If Wash doesn't want them, Alton will just take the armor, shortsword and longbow.

The armour and the longbow are both too large for Alton to use. The armour might be modified, but at the moment it looks fitted to a slender human or an elf. Halflings are generally not able to use longbows.
Wash responds "Thanks, I don’t need them, but I think if we can carry them we should take them to deny others in here access to them. It will be much easier to deal with unarmed foes. Also, we might be able to sell some of this back at Hupperdook later." Wash will offer to share the load if anyone is getting encumbered [OOC: Wash can just carry the next things they find if not.]
Wash, you see a large chamber, with a stone pillar and a hand crossbow attached to the top. You can approach it and make an Investigation check if you wish.

Balassar just freezes as he looks back "I think we should save this for last. It looked like another room back there."
(Is Balassar moving in that direction?)

Alton, you watch as Balassar, making no effort to be quiet at all, walks past you and into the room.
