This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I'm assuming that Alton will also follow - let me know if that's not the case.
Balassar, you are in the lead; you head north-east and as you reach a fork, you clearly see on your right the drow in what appears to be a bedroom, a nice bed along one wall and a sudden smell of incense. The drow hastily stuffing things into a bag, and looks up in alarm as you approach. You notice that chained to one wall is a small creature - it looks like a tiny dragon, and it stares at you curiously. You get a sudden image projected into your head, of the drow running away very fast with his cloak on fire, and the creature left behind. The image is accompanied by a sensation of hope.
The drow runs up to you, but you are blocking the exit (unless you choose to let him go). He stabs at you with a shortsword:
Attack: 20 Damage: 6
He swears as your armour deflects the strike, in a language you don't understand.
Alton catches up with Wash holding his crossbow at the ready in case he spots the drow or other kobolds, "I think I need to find a way to move a little faster to keep up with you two." Giving a shout down the hallway Alton says, in an attempt to give Balassar some inspiration, "You better catch that dark elf like they owe you ale money!"
Movement: Up next to Wash Action: Ready a shot with his crossbow if he spots an enemy Bonus Action: Bardic inspiration on Balassar. (For 10 minutes, the Balassar can add 1d6 to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.)

(OOC: From where Alton would be on the map he doesn't have line of sight on the drow and if no other enemies appear his readied attack wouldn't go off.)
Not seeing any more kobolds rushing in at the moment, Alton will move up 25ft towards Wash and Balassar. "I've got some rope if we want to tie them up."

The drow struggles, and then drops his weapon. He glares coldly at you all.
Combat is over. The little dragon is still agitated, jumping here and there, trying to break the chain that holds it.
Wash, a picture suddenly appears in your mind of the drow tied up with a comical amount of rope and a dirty sock stuffed in his mouth; the image is accompanied by a feeling of satisfaction.
Alton digs out the rope he has from his backpack and cautiously approaches, "Wow, great work Balassar. We got ourselves a prisoner." He moves in closer, "Do we tie up the feet first or the hands? I've never tied up a prisoner before. Animals, yes, but not a person."

Wash offers his manacles, saying "I think these and all the rope we have spare should work. We don't want another incident like the kobold earlier... I'm sure I locked it up tight." After the drow is secure, he follows the vision in his head, takes off a dirty sock and shoves it in the drow's mouth.
Wash then approaches the tiny dragon making gestures to show that he is friendly and starts to try and unchain it.
Between you, you manage to secure the drow in manacles and rope; the likelihood of him escaping is remote, provide you keep him under guard. He will slow your return to Hupperdook though.
Balassar, the small creature doesn't respond to your question, though it does seem to get excited when Wash approaches.
Wash, there's a burst of amusement when you stuff the sock in the drow's mouth, but no accompanying image this time. As you come closer, the creature starts to jump up and down happily. You see a lock on the chains, that would open with a key that you do not have.
Alton, with that investigation roll, you do find a small key but nothing else on him.
Wash, you don't find a key that would fit the chains, but you do find two larger keys, as well as a change of clothes, a fine travel cloak and rations enough for ten meals.
Wash tells the others what he has found in the bag and says "Do either of you want the clothes? I'll take a sock at least and I'll store the rations to share out later when anyone needs them. Have either of you seen a key that would unlock this little fella? I don't know why, but I feel like he is not any danger to us."
Alton hands Wash the key he found, "I found this on the dark elf and I'm good for clothes. I don't think they would fit me anyway." With that he will go about searching the room for any loot. "What do you guys think out next move would be? Should we head back to Hupperdook and come back later to search this place out more?"

You are all up.
Balassar just smiles "I'm sure you'd be worth more alive, though I'll kill you if need be." with that he attempts to grapple the drow into submission.

Wash runs up 30 ft to just behind Balassar.
[What he does next depends partly on whether Balassar's grapple was successful and partly on whether he also gets images projected in his head.]
Drow's acrobatics check to avoid grapple: 21
The drow is grappled. Is Alton still attacking?

Balassar just applies a little more pressure to his hold "Maybe we could get a rope." he looks back at the little dragon "You okay little one?"

Alton does a quick once over on their prisoner for anything hiding in pockets and whatnot.

Wash goes over and empties out the bag the drow was stuffing things into, looking for a key (and anything else useful).
Alton, with that investigation roll, you do find a small key but nothing else on him.
Wash, you don't find a key that would fit the chains, but you do find two larger keys, as well as a change of clothes, a fine travel cloak and rations enough for ten meals.
Balassar just keeps the tied up drow in sight looking at him with a smirk on his face "Xhorhasian I take it."
If the drow understands, he doesn't show it.
Wash tells the others what he has found in the bag and says "Do either of you want the clothes? I'll take a sock at least and I'll store the rations to share out later when anyone needs them.
