Alaric ponders Alvara's question, he starts to speak several times, but each time shakes his head and closes his mouth before a word has escaped. Eventually, he says "Send a message."
"Tell them that we killed Klarg, and we will kill any other who stands between us and our friends. Tell them also that any who surrender to us will be treated fairly, and let free."
He shrugs and waves his arms at the goblins in the distance, "It's either that, or kill them all. We can't stop them talking to Black Spider...but we can change the story some might tell."
(( OOC: If people agree to this, we should assemble all the goblins -- the two from outside, and Barek -- and say this to them as a group.
We should also offer Barek a choice to rejoin them or not...he can be let free at the pit; we would still give him the same pep-talk. ))
To Eraminus' suggestion about the messenger he says, "We need to get on to Phandalan...and I don't think we can watch for the messenger by ourselves."
(Oh, my bad, I thought you were looking the prisoners stuff.)
There is some more crates and barrels, all with Phandalin labels, noting else valuable is found, Klarg kept all the good stuff for himself. Nothing is found that even hints to the Black Spider, the goblins must have disposed of anything that did.

Alvara listens, looking between Eraminus and Alaric, considering their plans. "I like the idea of letting the goblins and wolves free if they surrender... and definitely a good call taking their weapons. Hmm... a message... well I guess that is what messengers are for..."
"A hobgoblin bigger goblin than Klarg...." Alvara frowns hearing the goblin's response. She continues, thinking aloud. "One hobgoblin messenger we should be able to subdue... but still it might be dangerous if he has any tricks up his sleeve."
(( Is Barek with us right now or is he still in the pit? ))
Flint attempts to summarize the plans out loud while counting on his fingers. “OK, lads and lassie, let me see if I can get this straight.
One, we free the wolfs. Hmm…maybe a goblin knows how to do this without getting its arm bit off.
Two, we load the supplies back in the wagon.
Three, we assemble the goblins that survived, take their weapons and threaten them not to cross us. If I recall correctly, Barek thinks the goblins might simply leave after Klarg’s death. It might be the case that the messenger doesn’t find any goblins here when they next return. This, at least, would prevent the Black Spider from knowing exactly what was coming for it.
Four, what to do with the messanger. I tend to agree with Alaric that it would be best to go to Phandalan rather than wait here and ambush the messenger. Sildar’s wounds need a proper looking after, and we could find aid, supplies and information there that we won’t find in the wilderness. But, we would be giving up a better understanding of what awaits at Cragmaw castle."
Flint looks to the group, “Is that about the size of it?”
Eraminus looks around, "I suppose it would make more sense to continue into town and ensure the supplies get delivered without any further incidents." He turns back to the goblins, "How can we unchain the wolves?"
Eraminus nods before gathering the weapons of the goblins up, securing them in the supply room. He then walks down towards the room that the wolves were in.
Alvara smiles, appreciating the orderly numbered plan summary from Flint.
"I"ll go fetch Barek... Maybe we can persuade the goblins to appoint him as the new leader of this little goblin band..." Alvara heads out to the pit to bring Barek back to the cave.
Once Alvara reaches the pit, she lowers a rope to help Barek climb out and walks with him back to the cave. "Barek, have you ever thought about leading the tribe?"
"I can understand that... I guess not everyone wants to be a leader," Alvara says, thinking to herself that it may be best for them to leave the goblins to figure things out on their own.
With the fighting over and the plan established, Flint begins to think about possible complications. He remembers that there are half-dozen or so unconscious goblins strewn around the that cave and cave entrance. He turns to Alaric, “I nearly forgot about all the unconscious but not dead wee devils around. Probably best to fetch them and bring them here. I am sure I can hoist a few of them at a time on my shoulders and bring them back, if ye can watch these ones here in the meantime.”
((If Alaric agrees, then Flint attempts to bring each unconscious goblin to the room Alaric is in.))
The wolves eye Eraminus with a bit more hunger in their eyes than one would rather, but once untied, the wolves flee the caves, and disappear into the night.
