"Just go, back the way you came, immediately," Midian says dismissively. "Figure it out, ask directions. Hurry or your night's profit is over." He immediately returns to Aloma, then adds, "Go!" to the carriage driver, and goes to aid Aloma, watching as he does to ensure the carriage departs.
[OOC: I am going to assume Midian helps Aloma get the sleeping woman out of the carriage before he sends it on his way.]
The driver says not another word, but does waits until all his passengers have alighted before he starts to move off, leaving the three in darkness as he directs the carriage further along the narrow road towards the water intake for the shrine of Oannes where there is a place to turn around.
Four small floating lights suddenly spring into existence around around the three of them lighting up the area.
"We can put her down over there," says, Priestess Aloma, pointing at a bench near the entrance to the closed building. "Hopefully Arthur will bring help with a stretcher soon."
As Midian helps Priestess Aloma with the sleeping avatar—bearing most of the woman's unconscious weight in the process—he sees the carriage they arrived in come to a halt next to the other carriage he noticed earlier.

Midian keeps his eyes on the three strangers and the other carriage, but says to Aloma in a serious tone, "That other carriage dropped off three people. The driver evidently was given strange and incomplete instructions, and also seemed to not know their way around town. It could be suspicious. Be wary and be ready."

[OOC: I believe we have got our wires crossed. There aren't 3 strangers. The three people described in my previous move are Midian, Priestess Aloma and the sleeping woman they are holding up who have been left by the side of the road after Midian told the driver to go. The only person up near where the two carriages now are that Midian knows about is their driver who has stopped next to the other carriage for some reason.]

"Enemies?" says Priestess Aloma, sounding confused. "I wasn't aware we had enemies."
Looking back in the direction of the two carriages, Midian sees the one that they were brought here in leave the other and head back towards them at a normal pace. He and the two women are now well off the road and, as the coach passes them, Midian sees in the illumination given off by Priestess Aloma's floating lights the driver staring at him with a non-committal look on his face.
Between the two of them, Midian and Priestess Aloma manage to lay the sleeping avatar carefully down on a bench that is up against the wall of the building. Somewhere at the back of this building, Midian can hear the sound of someone banging on a door and calling for it to be opened.
Still occasionally looking at the carriage parked near the Shrine of Oannes, Midian sees someone come out of the darkness into the area illuminated by the carriage's running lights and stand, apparently looking in their direction.

“Enemies,” Midian repeats, keeping his eyes focused on the figure. “A known cultist of Arion interacted with the avatar earlier, so their cult knows of her. Also, there’s the matter of Harlan’s murderers, which may or may not be the same people. Half the city is up in protest right now, outside our very gates, it seems. We have no shortage of enemies.”
Midian’s eyes narrow, and he adds, “Call for reinforcements and have them hurry. We need to get the avatar secured inside immediately.”
"I do not have a spell to do that," says Priestess Aloma, sounding serious and looking in the direction of the silhouetted stranger. "And I will not leave the avatar."
The person Midian is watching turns away and casually climbs up into the carriage, which lurches into motion after a moment.
As the carriage rolls past without stopping, Priestess Aloma lets out a sigh of relief and says, "We are jumping at shadows now."
After a moment, she adds, "I wonder what is taking so long?"

"I certainly hope I am jumping at shadows," Midian says. "I'd rather have a reputation for being over-cautious in such matters than shiftless in my awareness. I would welcome the embarrassment of excessive paranoia, priestess."
Having said the above, Midian still feels anxious... Something has changed... Something is different...
Looking around, he notices a small boat out on the river where two fishermen are pulling in a net under the light of a small lantern erected on a pole.
Strangely, he doesn't remember seeing them there before and he is sure he would have noticed the light.

Midian immediately points to the fishermen and the boat. "There, Aloma. The fisherman working by the light of the lantern. That wasn't there a moment ago, or at least the light wasn't visible to me a moment ago. Something odd is at play. Something has changed. Be on guard. If you don't have a spell to send a message to summon aid from within, shout for them to hurry - they'll be more responsive to your call."
Looking a little confused, Priestess Aloma is about to say something when suddenly her magical lights go out.
Midian hears her mutter a curse—something about 'Aieda's dugs'—and then the lights spring back into existence again.
Then, after looking quickly around the area, she says, "Help me carry the avatar. We will find Arthur and find out what is taking so long. They would respond to his voice as well as mine."
Getting up, she reaches down and drags the sleeping woman up into a sitting position and is clearly expecting Midian to take the woman's other side.

Between the two of them, Midian and Priestess Aloma lift the unconscious woman up so that only her feet are now touching the ground.
"If I must," says the priestess, clearly not seeing the need.
"Help!" she shouts. "Help us! We need assistance!"
To Midian's ear, her voice is loud enough, but there is no note of fear in her voice.
Out on the river, Midian sees the fishermen look in their direction and then begin talking to each other in an excited manner.
"Around this corner," says Priestess Aloma, leading the way. "The people inside the Temple are more likely to hear us if we get closer."
As they walk, the woman they are carrying begins to stir. Midian hears her say 'ow' and then she begins to take some faltering steps of her own.
"Goddess," Priestess Aloma says as they continue to move along slowly, "My apologies, but we are trying to get you to safety. Please help us protect you."
There is silence for a moment as they reach the nearest corner and then the woman says, "I feel very sleepy. Why do I feel so strange?"
In the glow of Priestess Aloma's Dancing Lights, Midian can now see around the corner of the building. About 40' away there is an open door, but there is no light coming from within the building it opens into.

“That’s where we are headed?” Midian asks as he aids the priestess in carrying the avatar towards the door. “It’s not lit. They’re not waiting for us? In any case, let’s hurry.”
"You were given medicine to help you sleep," explains Priestess Aloma as they make their way towards the open door.
One of the priestess's lights moves inside just ahead of Midian which gives him light to see there is no immediate danger within. The room is a small, neatly laid out office and opposite the entrance there is another door, which is half open. There is a lamp sitting on a table in this room, but it is not lit.
"Handleader Samswell?" says Priestess Aloma into the quiet of the building. Then, after a moment in which there is no reply, she raises her voice and adds, "Arthur?"
"Who's that?" mumbles the woman between them drowsily. "Who is Arthur?"
"Come," says the priestess, indicating the door opposite. "He must be in the store. Close the door please, Midian."
Keeping one hand on the avatar, Midian steps out and pulls the door closed and drops the bar back into place. As he does this, he realises that the door is not meant to be opened from the outside. Which begs the question: why was it open when there appears to be no one in the building?
[Make an Investigation check, if you want Midian to examine the door. Then, or otherwise, make a Perception check.]

Investigating the edges of door, Midian sees fresh signs that a thin blade has been pushed between the door jamb and the side of the door and presumably then used to lift the internal bar. Someone with knowledge of breaking and entering has opened this door.
“What is this chamber exactly? You were waiting for our arrival?” Midian asks.
"What do you mean?" says Priestess Aloma, sounding confused. "How could I possibly be waiting for my own arrival?" Then she adds, "This is where the delivery supervisor normally work, and I'm a little surprised that that door was open; deliveries aren't made at night. She then raises her voice again, saying, "Handleader! ... Arthur?"

I think not based on what I know of him, he would have been more likely to call someone from within to admit him.
