Xenruth stands up, dusts off his clothes, saying "Thanks" to Elly. He then goes over to the locked door, and attempts to unlock it (sleight of hand 24)
The man nervously tried to get to his feet again and is unsuccessful. The sounds of Orcs in the corridor grows louder still now that they've discovered their dead comrade! Xenruth seems to have found a dead end in the right hand door, the left is still trapped with shocking grasp! Do you stand and fight hoping the Orcs will be easily vanquished or do you flee barricading yourself in the alcove or do you attempt to open the left trapped door?
"Everyone! In here!" I motion toward the alcove, and look inside for anything that we could use to barricade the door, or anything else to keep it closed (perception 15).
The alcove seems to be some sort of chapel, there is a mural painted on the ceiling depicting a gathering of some kind (roll history or religion check). There is nothing however useful you can see that you would be able to barricade the door with! There is however a stone statue of a man in robes standing in the center of the room with the skeletal remains of an large humanoid wearing a helmet, full-plate armor with a greatsword across it's lap setting in the corner.

The professor takes a moment to realize the group isn't planning to stay and fight the orcs, and quickly joins them in the alcove, where he immediately focuses on the mural.
You know this mural from your studies and it's called "The Trial of Cyric the Mad." This is the story of the banishment of Cyric from this plane for his part in the murder of Mystra the goddess and protector of The Weave (how magic interacts between the planes). For his part in the murder of Mystra the gods Tyr, Lathander, and Sune imprisoned Cyric on another plane. They did not strip him of his divinity however nor his ability to grant powers to his worshippers from his prison cell on unknown plane. Cyric continues to influence and empower those insane enough to follow him. Upon looking at the mural you remember stories that his followers have attempted to bring him back from this unknown plane but as of now you think they've been unsuccessful. You guess however the maze itself is seemingly some sort of game that the warlock Diacht constructed to amuse the god Cyric. You are now realize it might be the reason you were lured here!
Xenruth, Gauldring, Kohl, Professor, and Shadow
As you all move into the alcove you immediately become aware of another presence in the room especially Gauldring as the skeletal remains of the armored humanoid rise up to it's feet brandishing it's greatsword. What's your move?
Zillah, Elly, and the prone man
In the dungeon you see 3 Orcs coming into the room. The man is still prone unable to stand in his own and your other party members having fled into the alcove, what's your move?
I chuckle quietly to myself as I consider the mural, partly at finding myself mixed up in such things, at partly at the madness of Diacht seeking to *amuse* Cyric.

"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
