{DM tip: Ok rolling a check which you have no 'training' and getting 19 or higher doesn't mean you 'know' things you just are aware of them but can not really explain them nor understand them!!}

You are aware there is magic everywhere in the courtyard from the stone floor to the fountain to the walls to possible even the night sky!
Gauldring, Elly, Professor, Shadow, & Zillah {if she were here}
Make arcane rolls since magic is something you've studied and could make actual sense of and explain to the party!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Besides the obvious magical aura of the place which you are keenly aware it looks like a common night garden. You notice the doors or statue on each wall if you move closer you might be able to investigate further.
Gauldring, Elly, & Shadow
Magic symbols are everywhere, even in the flooring! The shape of the garden itself and the courtyard, which is a octagon, has eight sides featuring either a statue or a door. The statues are directly on the opposite side of a door as if 'watching' the door itself.
Elly & Gauldring

A, C, E, G are doors & B, D, F, H are statues imagine the 'points' with the labels are actually at the center of the 'pie' not the angles!
Each statue is that of Cyric in a different pose, you can tell the arcane symbols are wards for different schools of magic you know this means ALL magic is made inert here!

The party is all pouring out of the wide threshold of door A.
Everyone
Although there is 3 doors you are unsure where they lead the fact that magic is disallowed here might make it the best place to take a long rest with shifts of watch keeping an eye on things. Maybe work that out? Also anyone looking for Zillah and Geralt?
It's just a wall, all enchantment have been dispelled.
Everyone
The professor enters the courtyard and curiously wanders from the group approaching a statue. Reaching out to touch the statue he yanks the arm of Cyric and the statue turns around as if it's trapped! The trap triggers the entire statue to spin around and reveal yet another statue of Cyric, the professor disappearing from view the sounds of gears are loud but then the courtyard falls silent!
{Do y'all agree to take a long rest with a organized shift of watch?}

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."

I relay that information to the others, casting Light to show them that magic isn't working.
Which door did we enter from?

Finding Zilliah and Geralt has got to be a priority, maybe we can tear down the wall where that secret entrance was?
Shadow
The wall is solid but you can take a look at it with acrane? Are you going back into the dungeon then?

I repeat the courtyard might be the best place to get a long rest and recharge your spells/hit points!

{Hey everyone. I am sad to say that the Professor/Hazred has decided to bow out of the campaign due to IRL issues. I wish him happy adventuring!}
