Your night passes uneventfully after all of you have had a long rest you reset spells and regain all hit points. Professor is missing (will not return), Zillah is missing (on her own PM project at the moment bare with us), and the courtyard is now flooded with sunlight the first you've seen in what feels like weeks! Upon looking around the garden the flowers and plants have all strangely retreated, curled away from the sun's harsh rays.
With the knowledge Elly shared that the symbols are wards against all magics, she's studied at least, you come to realize that any door or statue could be a possible way forward. What do you do?
Shadow makes an arrow mark on the door we came in. "Several options available, should we backtrack and find out where those orcs came from, press along the main corridor or try one of the passages hoping to find Zillah ahead of us?"
His question to the group unanswered, Shadow says "Well, I think our priority now must be on finding Zillah. Which of these courtyard doors faces towards the alcove where we last saw her?"
"I doubt it will be as easy as this door heads the right way in here, we have no way of knowing if the secret passage they took turned somewhere or spirals up inta a tower.... but as I don't have a better idea let's go with your plan"

OOC: How do we treat the disappearance of Hawthorne? Is he an objective to be found, do we give up hope that he'll be found or did he never exist at all?
{Professor/Hazred couldn't keep up and bowed out so basically he's never been here. I am sorry about that. Zillah is ahead in the maze, the A point in the octagon is where y'all came in. I will get a sketch together ASAP of what you've seen/been through. I am trying to find a host for my sketch now!}
Ok here's a map of where you've been and where what's ahead in the courtyard! MAP It's on Google docs so I hope y'all have it, it's hard to host such a large image to post here!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Elly's knowledge of Cyric tells you already that statues are all of the trickster god myself as if they were some sort of comically gallery to show off his accomplishments. The door however looks wooden made of the same darkwood that you passed through to begin the maze.

Although the courtyard is outside there is no visual of the tower, it's as if the courtyard is no where near where you entered.

"I wanna get out there as soon as possible, Zillah could be in trouble. I'm ready to go when you all are." Kohl says, leaning against a wall casually.
"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."

"I will come with you." Xunreth looks at the others, "Are any of you with us?'
"Yes, time to move on, if there's a passage behind the statue on the left that might be the more direct route, otherwise I'd say the door on the left"
I say we try the door
