OOC: Good Evening, Adventurers! Thanks for the quick turn, Sorore; with her move not (yet) impacting the subterranean tactical circumstances, I'll forego another graphic at the moment.
OOC: Initiative passes now to Casta, and then passes immediately to Belmort!
Very satisfied with the "One-Two" justice punch she and Belmort dispensed a moment ago, Casta pulls the business end of her spear from the fallen Night Blade and takes a hard right down the corridor, eagerly seeking the next test of her faith.
Exotic celestial accent bellows from under her feathered helm. Fool Tool of Bane ... Stand and deliver. Submit to the judgement of HELM!
She rushes forward and shoulders into her left. Clashing shields with the Fist, forcing a momentary unbalance. She uses the natural push back to flow backwards, opening a line of attack for the spear thrust.
Spear Attack Attack: 17 Damage: 6
After her attack, she creates space in the passageway by taking a knee and lifting her shield flat over her head in the tight corridor, the Roof defense position. Point projecting slightly inside the zone of the Fist. Watching the feet and center shifting will telegraph where a weapon blow will flow from, so defending will not require seeing the weapon arc. She opens up the upper lane for Belmort following to bring the javelin again to bear, when recovering it from the same deceased Night Blade.
The Fist of Bane grunts with the impact of Casta's shield, but shifts his balance and holds his defensive stance, almost as if in anticipation of the coming spear thrust. The Paladin's attack narrowly misses, her spear's piercing blade deflected across the broad warrior's black fist-emblazoned shield before Casta flows into her fighting position.
OOC: Good Evening, Adventurers, and nicely played Casta!
OOC: A quick note here referencing PBP entries 247 and 251, which noted the defensive stance/active defense of this Fist of Bane, who performed no other noticeable actions the last round. Casta's attack has revealed that the Fist of Bane had taken the Dodge action, which makes every observable attack against him to be with disadvantage (take the worst of two d20 rolls). Her result of 17 did not penetrate his Armor Class, but if it had succeeded, she would have been required to roll again, taking the lesser of the two results. This will apply to all attacks against this enemy until the start of his next turn.
Belmort moves 5 feet East and drops to the ground as he grabs the sewer grate and lowers himself into the sewer. Belmort uses 10’ of movement to move past Feldinor and continues 15 feet south to the space behind Casta as he pulls and readies his shield.
As Belmort is moving he says to his companions
“This is not good ground, if you have a ranged weapons use them. Casta and I will hold the front .”
OOC: Good Evening, Adventurers! Belmort, outstanding use of essentially every option available to you in getting the most possible action out of your turn! I do note that there's still a javelin protruding from the skull of the Night Blade, however...:-)
OOC: Updated graphic below; Feldinor has the initiative!
"You see!! There you go again plugin up the damn fighting space. And now it's too far for my feets." Feldinor seems to contemplate and counts on his fingers 1, 2, 3...then shakes his head and changes his mind. [ooc]Had a rules discussion with @GM and my original plan seemed much better using 3.5 rules :)[/ooc]
Feldinar moves south 10' and pulls his short bow (free interact with object) as he moves. Then drops his short sword at his feet (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/rules-game-mechanics/6288-is-dropping-an-item-actionless) [ooc]as best I can tell, dropping a weapon is a free action...picking it up will be a move action[/ooc] And then takes a shot at the lead bad guy searching to find a vital spot just over Casta's shield. [ooc]I believe I get sneak chance because the target is within 5' of an opponent? And I believe the target will have +2 cover from my attack.[/ooc]
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Well I guess we are in for a loooooong drawn out sewer fight.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

A sharp intake of breath erupts from the hoarse-voiced caster closest to the clash of steel, his rags and long hair twisting around him as he gestures violently, rattling the chain and the skull-shaped ball of the flail in his other hand to reinforce the words of his revelation.
“Dark Blessings, they are weak! And a “holy cow;” down and take her to sacrifice with the other…”
The tattered form then takes up his arcane words of foul magic yet again, and the ghostly, skeletal humanoid claw manifests this time before Belmort, raking at him with necrotic spite…

And strikes! The skeletal claws streak low down the west side of the sewer tunnel from the ragged man’s empty left hand, darkening the lower edge of the Dragonborn’s chain mail over the mass of Belmort’s right thigh and raking through the armor into flesh, wisps of black smoke again seeping from the necrotic wound.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The thick-set, mace and shield-armed Fist of Bane immediately adapts his tactics with the caster’s rasping words, exploding from his defensive stance to the attack against Casta.
“I hear you, Necromite; they should have run in fear, it seems.”

The heavily armored warrior bares his teeth in a grim smile as his mace smashes into the Paladin of Helm’s right gauntlet on his back-swing, crushing her fist and spear-shaft hard against her chain mail flank in a rush of pain and weakness from the blunt trauma.
OOC: Good Evening, Adventurers; the results from these last two attacks of the enemy are grim results indeed, with both Belmort and especially Casta seriously wounded. It is worthy of note, however, that with the mace-wielding Fist of Bane's attack, there is no longer Disadvantage to be rolled in attacking him at this point.
OOC: Thanks to Yokai for an excellent inquiry on the use of Inspiration Points. Due to PbP constraints on the absence of interaction around a gaming table, Inspiration Points can be spent by individuals and/or given from one adventurer to another under the "Heroism" caveat referenced in the DMG, where an Inspiration Point can be used after a d20 roll, rather than before, so long as it's prior to the official determination of the d20's result.
OOC: Also had a similar previous discussion with Belmort. I think this is worth as an important addition to Ye Olde Rules, and even though addressed as a potential standard in the DMG, specifically called out for the game.
Murdoch’s crossbow bolt pierces deep and high into the Fist of Bane’s leading hip, just edging around his shield to bury in chain mail and flesh, staggering the mace-armed warrior as the Ranger drops from view.
17
The chain mail-armored archer to the south, suddenly confronted with the hulking dragonborn over Casta’s shoulder, reconsiders his greatest threat. The dark longbow tracks to Belmort as he releases…

13
And misses! Some profane curse escapes his mouth as the Fist of Bane’s black arrow ricochets from the dragonborn’s own mailed right arm, and clatters off the stone of the sewer tunnel well beyond him.
OOC: Good Evening, Adventurers. Murdoch, an exceptional shot with the highest damage dealt thus far, as well as the tight grasp of the rules on matters with the use of both cover and the utility of the prone state! Inspiration is yours; let us hope you don’t immediately have need of it!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fimrold moves 15ft East, squeezing past Rigor. He then casts Sacred Flame upon the enemy adjacent to Casta, dealing 6 damage upon the failure of a DC 12 dexterity saving throw.
Don’t get yerself killed just yet, swap front line when y’ must!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fimrold strides fully into the sewer tunnel’s intersection, and a shaft of flame-like radiance descends upon the Fist of Bane that struck Casta, with the dwarf’s divine casting.
18
The armored warrior sidesteps the radiant flames, but his eyes narrow with hatred as he perceives the threat from yet another divine power's emissary in the fight...
OOC: Thanks for the clarification, Fimrold; Rigor has the initiative!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rigor adjusts his tactics to seize an opportunity while avoiding the tunnel stack. He moves East, far enough to arm himself by pulling the javelin from the Night Blade’s skull. The Monk whips around and hurls the javelin as best he can over his companions, targeting Casta’s opponent.
6
Rigor lowers his head a second in disappointment, then retreats to his former position to recover Yokai’s offered dagger.
”Thanks, Yokai. Thought you might want access ahead; perhaps a time for hellish fury...”
Yokai's eyes turn white as he feels the swirl of fate surrounding Rigor's throw. He mumbles some fiendish words in an attempt to guide the javelin to its intended target.
/OOC Rigor, please use my inspiration point to reroll your attack. If we can down that initial enemy, we free up space for the front line to move forward or be replaced so we can get them healed up. Good luck sir.

Murdoch shoulders his crossbow, trying to line up a shot past three allies. He fires at the closest enemy 23 for 12 piercing damage.
OOC: My understanding is that the target has Half Cover, as the shot is interrupted only by creatures. Half Cover would grant him a +2 bonus to AC.
After firing, Murdoch drops prone and begins reloading.
