Halec quickly reaches into his saddlebags and grabs the rope and grapple and tosses them to Soren. “Grab hold! Harbek, help anchor him! Everyone, together we can help pull him out!”
(Anyone whom is willing to help pull Soren out, make a strength check.)
“Quicksand I would wager,” Halec calls in reply. “As an outdoorsman I am a bit embarrassed I did not see this coming. We will be more on guard with our footing going forward, but for now let us get you safe from there.”
"It is unwise to not look where one is going," Nahu says as they bow slightly. You notice that as they rushes to help, their eyes had shifted in color from a grey to a sickly yellow. As soon as Soren was out of the sand, Nahu's eyes went back to normal. As they turn and begin walking away, down the path, you notice that under their cloak is a massive sword.
Continuing on through the path, Nahu comes across a bush with inch-long, magenta berries growing on it. (Anyone can make a nature check on the berries to see if they're edible)
"Nahu is quite right," Halec agrees. "And you all have my apologies. As even a hobbyist outdoors-man, I should have been routinely checking for hazardous terrain. I will begin doing so. Apologies to Soren for his boots becoming soiled due to my evident carelessness. Thank you for your aid, Nahu. Given your impressive robust strength I am certain our enemies will regret being on the receiving end of that prodigious sword of yours."
If the quicksand issue has been dealt with, Halec leads on, inviting anyone else with outdoors skills to aid in finding safe routes.
Survival: 13
Halec finds no route or path that can lead them to the mountain without complication. Along his search, he spots hunter's trap hidden under some leaves before anyone could get caught.
Halec points out the traps, and notes, “We can avoid those but this terrain is too treacherous to hope for an entirely safe passage I am afraid. Best continue to tread very cautiously. Fortunately we have at least one capable healer amongst us now, but no reason to risk unnecessary injury, eh?” He continues to lead them towards the museum, following the map.
“Could be people actually live in these parts, using the hunters traps to catch game for food,” Halec says. “I don’t think we can blame any intentions on the natural hazards. Who would choose to live in such an inhospitable place is a better question perhaps. Absolutely awful conditions around here.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As your six are about to leave the forest, a trio of massive orcs block your path. The one closest to Halec says "Puny travelers, can... not... leave" in a gruff, coarse voice. Then --attempts to-- slam(s) its big club down onto the human.
OOC: Let us know if you want us to roll any skill checks to extricate him. A survival check to avoid such hazards in the future as well.

If possible Halec will Help action the stronger Dwarf, Harbek.
Nahu rushes over, feeling the voices in their head they feel a super natural strength come over them (raging) 24
"Very impressive!" Halec comments on Nahu's feat of strength. "Unexpectedly powerful, Nahu."
Soren grabs the rope with a thankful and scared expression on his face “What the hell is that!?” He exclaims with disgust.
“Quicksand I would wager,” Halec calls in reply. “As an outdoorsman I am a bit embarrassed I did not see this coming. We will be more on guard with our footing going forward, but for now let us get you safe from there.”

“Agreed Nahu, and thank you. And no worries Halec, I should have been more perceptive and cautious. I do appreciate the sentiment though”

“I’m not too accustomed to life outside of cities. I don’t think I’ll be much help, if you couldn’t already tell”
