The battle ended, Halec heads to Ophiwalen and uses a charge from the Staff of Healing to cast Cure Wounds on him and restore him to consciousness. Healing of: 8
"Wake up, lad," Halec says. "It was a rough skirmish, but you fought well, and we have prevailed. Come, let's all take a brief rest before we continue on." Halec insists the party takes a Short Rest (during which time people can use Hit Dice to restore lost HP).
Halec Hit Die uses:
9
11
He uses 2 of 7 Hit die during the rest to restore himself to full HP.
During the hour of rest, Halec asks, "Abygail, are you familiar with this gang of thieves? There could be more further in. Any idea of the size of the gang, or who their leader is? We once ran afoul of a gang of thieves led by a terribly powerful dark elf magus. Awful experience. I hope we don't face a similar peril, here."
"Anything noteworthy among the loot, Harbek?" Halec asks. "Ophiwalen, are you feeling quite recovered from your injuries? Just take it easy and rest, catch your breath. You'll feel better in no time, lad." Halec encourages Ophiwalen to rest for the hour (in effect encouraging the use of Hit Dice to restore lost HP).
Harbek gathers the weapons into a pile and says "take you pick of weapons, and there is enough gold here for each of us to have 70 pieces" he holds up the red vial "i wonder what this is"
Harbek looks back at the bodies "i thought there was one more thief around here"
"Well, let's continue in. There's still a good chance these thieves could be connected with the missing eggs," Halec says. The short rest complete, he leads the way back into the den of thieves, moving cautiously.
The passage leads right into a somewhat wider passage. Rock-shaped ice covers every single corner of the walls, the ceiling filled with icicles of many shapes and sizes, they glow lightly with the many colors of the northern lights. The smell of sulfur lingers in the room, it becomes stronger in the center of the room, and gets even stronger from a side passage to the left. The side passage has three wooden doors with several patches of frostbite; One is on the far side, the other two sit face to face between the walls.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Halec heads down the side passage to the left, and on reaching the area with two doors facing each other, goes to the door on his left, and gives it a cursory glance for any obvious traps, before trying the handle. Perception: 5"Someone I adventured with once said if you take all left turns you won't get lost in a dungeon or labyrinth. It later turned out he had an odd Geas on him that prevented him from taking right turns, but the wisdom still applies, I think."
The door has no traps. It leads into a small, square-shaped chamber, it has the same look/feel as the passageway, but the room is empty and there are no other exits.
...then goes to check the door at the fall end of this hallway.
The door opens to a hexagonal chamber with a very short ice alter in the center. Atop the altar rests three dragon eggs with a scattered pattern of small, light-blue diamonds around them. "Ah, finally, we found them" Abygail walks up to the altar "...but we got to hurry them back to the nest, it looks like they be hatching soon." She gestures at a crack in the frontmost egg.
Your attacks all hit with much precision, finishing off the last three thieves.
Harbek hurries over to Ophiwalyn and begins binding his wounds

Harbek recovers the following:
Thief I's Greataxe
An odd vial containing a blood red liquid from Thief E
Thief C's Shortbow
A quiver with one dozen arrows from Thief C
A spare set of Traveler's Clothes from Thief H
10 Crossbow Bolts from Thief H
Thief B's Glaive
210GP Total
Harbek notices the body of Thief A is suspiciously missing.

harbek searches for thief A
investigation: 15
investigation check for red vial: 11
There is no sign of Thief A anywhere, when searching Thief E, you noticed his --large-- pouch containing the vile was open.
You need an arcana check for that.
arcana check: 1
You have not one clue to what the liquid is.

Halec gives this room a brief search, Perception 8, Investigation 16, then goes to check the door at the fall end of this hallway.
The room contains nothing of value nor suspicion.
"Indeed! Gather them up, everyone, let us return them to the dragons," Halec says.
Harbek gently picks up one of the eggs and starts heading back to the nest
Halec takes one as well, carefull cradling it, and leaves it for Ophiwalen or Abygail to claim the final egg.
