Chazrael shrugs before he goes to retrieve his arrows. "No worries, just don't do it again." After several minutes, he stares at the body before sitting next to it. "I agree, let's find this witch to see what she knows. I'm always up for a witch hunt."
After the short rest, and some traveling, you lay eyes upon a lake, the water with several mixes of colors create a collage on the still water. Green grass surrounds the lake along with a mix of stone and rocks laying in it. On the other side of the lake is a woman wearing a black cloak that covers her lower body, she has black, curly hair that sticks out of the cloak, she has a drooped chin that allows you to confirm she is indeed older. She looks up and walks towards you, her cloak kicking up with every footstep. "Ah, you must be here for my dilemma, do you have a golden apple?" She says in a nice, calm voice

Halec nods vigorously, gesturing with his pipe. "I don't plan to! Damnedest thing. Not to sound less than humble, but I am quite an experienced shot with this hand held crossbow. Just as I see you are with that bow of yours, sir. I've never seen a stray shot so perfectly go to an unintended target like that. I could blame it on the strange malaise from the destruction of the Ruby Snowflake, but I do take responsibility for my mistakes. I am just glad to see you are alright, friend."

Halec bows slightly. "Madame, we have actually came here seeking a witch by the name of Igna, to consult with her regarding the destruction of the relic that stabilized this region, the Ruby Snowflake. Do you know Igna's whereabouts by any chance?"
OOC: After the short rest I have noted the restored Action Surge and Superiority Dice.
Her smile quickly fades "Why I am the Igna you are searching for"
(Yes, you do, Halec)
"Finally, a bit of good fortune!" Halec beams. "Lady Igna, as I said, a catastrophe has occurred. The Ruby Snowflake evidently provided peace and serenity here in Snakeskin Valley. During the annual festival, some strange beam of light struck the Snowflake, and shattered it. The shards flew off in all directions, most unnaturally. I and my friends are adventurers, contracted by the mayor of Central City to reacquire the shards so the relic can be restored. If we do not find them within a matter of a few short weeks, the city, and the surrounding area, could collapse into a ravine! I thought to consult with a wise and powerful magic user, yourself, to see if you might be able to use your skills, perhaps some sort of Divination, to reveal to us the locations of the shards, and maybe provide some insight as to what, exactly, caused the destruction of the relic."
OOC: How far are are we now from within Central City? Are we still within the threatened area that might likely collapse into a ravine, or is this beyond that threshold to the best of our knowledge?

Your within a forest, as the Centeral City is on a canyon, so a little far.
Yes, you are within the threatened area, the whole kingdom is in this danger zone.
"Do you have me a golden apple?" She says, still calmly
Halec's jaw drops open again - as seems to be happening often lately - and his mustache twitches as if it were trying to escape his face as his upper lip quivers in a poorly repressed sneer. "I do not have a golden apple, madame. I have foreknowledge of the collapse of this entire region into a ravine within two weeks' time, however. That would seem to be of great import to you, someone who resides in this region, as well as to every single living person in Snakeskin Valley, yes? The Ruby Snowflake held this region together. The Ruby Snowflake has shattered. Unless it is repaired, this region is doomed, along with everyone in it." Halec speaks slowly and methodically, hoping that on second attempt the gravity of his words will be conveyed. "I ask you, as a resident of the region that will be destroyed when it collapses into a ravine, if you might use your magic to aid us in preventing that eventuality."
She now looks angry, and even has a frustrated tone "There should be a golden apple tree over in the north of this forest. Bring me a golden apple, then we'll talk."
Halec looks like he has aged ten years in one day. “So we have just given you confirmation that if no action is taken you are definitely going to die, along with everyone else in this region, in two weeks time, and rather then trying to aid us, if for nothing else than solely for logical self preservation of your own life, you would have us first bring you an apple from the forest to the north? I just want to make sure we are both understand one another correctly, madame. I am more and more sure the collapse of the snowflake broke the sanity of the world itself.”
I angrily hiss at Halec "Silence fool! We have no need of enemies! Let us retrieve the apple and obtain the guidance we need." Turning to her I say "Have no fear ma'am, we will find the apple and bring it to you, we value your friendship and are in grave need of your help. Forgive my friend here... he's a little exciteable, and doesn't mean what he says."
I turn north, heading to locate this apple.

Halec leans against a tree and stares at his mule. “Your own kerfuffle, she says. The entire region including this very spot is going to cave into a ravine. That’s our kerfuffle. Madness, Helen. It’s all gone mad.”

I try to sneak along with them without being spotted by the witch.
(You need a stealth check, DC11)
