"We will do our utmost to save this region, which will be to your benefit as well, m'lady," Halec says. "Fare thee well, Igna, and thank you for your guidance. The map will prove invaluable in our search for the shard pieces." He examines the iron door, checking to see if it is locked.
The room is indeed fairly dark, hard to see without darkvision. You hear the echoing sound of water falling, and the air suspiciously reeks of zombie dust.
For those who have darkvision:
You see a stone flooring, cracked and covered with moss. A rickety wooden staircase sits on the far side of the room, leading high up into the darkness. Spiders and mice crawl about everywhere, and the place gives you chills looking at anything.
Ophiwalyn says " Err, couldn't we just hire a cleric? Or better a Ghost Exterminator? I mean they keep putting out flyers everwhere because no one hires them. "
Halec answers, “The Ruby Snowflake exploded. The witch saw one shard enter the Millennium Mansion, where we are heading now. We need to recover the shards to stabilize this valley. That’s most of the salient points, friend.”
I reply, "we have no need of one, come lets get this shard" I ready my warhammer. To halec i whisper "if you die, i get the mule..."
Halec raises an eyebrow, smooths his mustache and takes a drink from his flask. “If I die I would imagine that so will you and everyone in this valley. But if by some chance I do pass, I would expect Helen to be given every respect and courtesy due a lady of her station.”
As you climb to the top of the square spiral staircase, (which was a long way up) you come across a set of small, scuffed-up double doors angled on the ceiling
Given that, had the doors been locked, Halec’s next plan would have been to use the portable ram, or to offer it to the dwarf to use, he steps aside. “Have at it!”
“Maybe it isn’t locked,” Halec suggests after some pounding.
OOC: Halec will check the door, and then break out the portable ram if it is locked, which provides advantage to strength checks of this nature, and he will offer it to the dwarf.

It's open, just touching it causes the door to *CREAK* open eerily.
Halec peers in warily. If it is dark he will light his bullseye lantern.

Halec lights his bullseye lantern to provide light and enters the chamber, approaching the staircase (the only visible exit I assume?).

" So..... What is the matter with this shard? "

I listen at the door. See if I could pick up anything.
I pull out my bagpipes... and play a horrendous, discordant tune, sure to drive out any sane occupants of the building.

Halec, if he can examine the doors, will try the handle and see if they are locked.

OOC: unless this door has low HP, (maybe it`s rotten...idk) I won`t be able to bust it. Halec, could a mule kick bust it?

I duck as the ram is about to crush my head.

Chazrael is going to load an arrow and aim it at the door in case something jumps out at them.
